StarCraft: Ghost - Summer 2006 for GC, Xbox, PS2?? Why bother?

The write-ups that I've read for Ghost have all been positive. Then I get to the end, and they say Blizzard is looking to have the game out by the summer, next summer.

What are they thinking? This game is just begging to be bumped up to the next gen. The rumors had said it already had been, but E3 seems to prove other wise. Summer 2006 for Xbox?? Is that going to be the last game published for the system?

I just don't want to see a good game get lost at the end of the generation, much like Conker the first time around (and the most likely the second...).

Summer 2006?! I had hoped for a Xmas 2005 release.

Make it for Xbox 360 Blizzard if it is middle of 2006...!

Black launch around Spring 2006 sucks too. Have it ready for the holidays EA!

I really hope it doesn't get overlooked with all the next-gen hype.

Wow the game will be completely lost with all the 360, PS3, and Revolution hype. Atleast they can tap in to the PS3 and Revolution with BC.

i hope this doesn't taint the developers who were formally known as swingin apes

metal arms was a great game, please dont let starcraft: ghost kill them

The more accurate description is Blizzard won't let Starcraft Ghost suck. They'll cancel the game before they something trashy come out.

They're wholely owned by Blizzard now, so if anything it's going to hurt Blizzard if Ghost sucks, not Swinging Apes.

All these 2006 releases suit me.

I'm not going to next gen until the full Blu-Ray recorder edition of the PS3 is releases and I have upgraded from my 480p plasma to some kind of amazing 1080p display.

What is the point of going to the next generation when you only have a 480i interlaced display connected over composite :D

This gen doesn't end just because the new systems come out. There'll be alot of titles still coming out on the current gen systems long after Rev/PS3/X360 are out.

Conker's failure had more to do with it being an M-Rated game on the N64 than it did with it being released closer to the end of the consoles lifespan. The vast, vast, vast majority of gamers in Summer 2006 will still be happily playing their old systems, with no thought of upgrading until a price drop. Never judge the end of a generation of hardware by the hyped up early adopter tech geeks on places like Gaming Age.

This is amazing - when people thought Xbox games would stop coming out the second 360 was released it was a drama of biblical proportions because it was cutting short the Xbox's life. Now we see proof that Xbox games will continue to be released and we're stressing that those games will be flops/not worth playing?

I'd expect big releases on Xbox throughout 2006 - lots of people wont go next-gen for the first 12 months, until prices drop and a few killer apps appear.

actually... since all the next-gen consoles (afaik) are backwards compatible, they could just put the game in the software packaging for those consoles. Just advertise/market it as a PS3, X360 and Rev game even though it's really just a PS2, Xbox and GC game. hell, maybe they could even implement a HD display option?

I seem to remember a fair few big PS1 games that did well after the PS2 release. Im sure games released in 2006 (hopefully most new 2005 games too) will be compatible with whatever software solution xbox 360 has for BC.

Im sure Ghost and Black will do just fine.

Just how long will we wait for this game? It's been years. I was ready to play it like 2 years ago, but now I've forgot and lost some interest in it since there's so many awesome games coming out.

I think they have to pack it with a hell of a good bonus if they expect it to compete wiht next gen shit.

I'm sure there are enough Blizzard Fanboys to get good numbers out of the game ;)

I had no interest buying this game, but after purchasing [and finishing] Metal Arms, I really want to play it now.

MS said (sorry can't remember where) that there was still over 200 Xbox games to be released.

Yeah with the Xbox being selectively BC (:lol) I don't know what I'm going to do with 3rd party games I want now. I mean why buy them for the Xbox and then they can't be played on their new system. Guess that means back to Cube and PS2 3rd party games. :(
