I can't tell you yet, I only played 30 minutes, and 10 minutes wasted on trying to figure out how to travel to a planet. Taking it slow. If I tell you now, then it would be biased and disengenous.

Im gonna take your guys word for it,

I know people here have good tastes on video games

Went with Bounty Hunter Background. Traits are cool.

Which ever developer was in charge of photo mode failed. This is basically free advertising for your game....

Played through the intro section on XSS. PC looks to finally be working so now I am gonna switch over.

This character creator is way more involved than I expected lol. Trying to make a good approximation of what I look like right now.

I'm not able to decide which background to choose lol, leaning towards Industrialist cause it has 2 of the 3 skills I want.

Ok so far, I trolled myself. I was trying to go to my first planet for the main quest and my ship just kept moving forward for like 10 minutes and the planet never got closer.

If it makes you feel any better, you weren't the only one.

You get to the point where you no longer have to prove to yourself that you're good at video games

Alternatively, you get to the point where you realize you never will be.

So I just kind of technically did my first "dungeon" but it was part of the main quest where you fight a bunch of space pirates and some small alien enemies. The AI is pretty much brain dead, recorded footage of a melee enemy running around on top of a table, he did a few circles despite me being in front of him a few feet away and it took a good 5-10 seconds before he started running towards me. Then again, I never expect AI to be good in games these days (sadly) especially in Bethesda titles. Enemy do go into cover here and there though and I am playing on default difficulty which is set to normal.

The RPG I believe is where this game is going to shine. It's basically Fallout in space so far but without the VATS system. Exploration feels a tad limiting so far but its only like the first hour of the game and I don't think I can give my full verdict on exploration until way way down the line. Also, you can't even land on the planet directly if you are in the same orbit, you have to click and choose "land" on it to actually do it. There are menus you have to go through to basically travel from orbit to orbit and land on a planet to planet. It feels a bit disjointed in that regard.

Running pretty well at 4K max settings(100% rendering) between 60-70 outdoors.

Gonna wait for some mayor patches before seriously starting a playthrough.

Female chars are significant uglier than the male ones, there are no good mouth to choose from and the slider to make it smaller is number 1 in shape blend lol, there are so much work for modders to do again. If there are no mods, I would have refunded right away lol.

It's looking fucking great on XSX. The facial animations are a big fucking step up from past Bethesda games. Looks sharp as fuck.

Yeah, the NPCs are about 1000% improved from previous BGS games. They are well animated; have actual facial animations and don't walk like they shit their pants. The game is beautiful and the music epic.

Hey all you noble no-lifers. Good luck and have fun these next few days!

Hopefully one of you poop socks your way to completing the main story this weekend, so you can shed some light on what all this NG+ stuff is all about.

Having fun so far. Long day so I'm going to start fresh in the morning.

Sucks no flight stick support. Only complaint.

Pretty disappointed in the space stuff so far. Space combat doesn't feel good on mkb (probably because some of the default bindings are terrible) and space travel kinda sucks? As I'm writing this message my ship is going full-speed towards my next objective and it genuinely feels like I'm not moving at all. I've played a dozen of other space games over the years and they all did this so much better. As far as I can tell, the game wants me to use the menu to travel to the next objective but that's no fun...

Also the enemy AI is fucking awful, even on Very Hard.

Having said all that, I'm a sucker for Bethsoft's environmental storytelling so I'm sure I will enjoy the game overall... but I just had to vent my early thoughts.

Oh yeah, for sure. Visually it's a very noticeable upgrade over Fallout 4. You can see the same DNA is there, but the muddiness is gone. It's pleasant looking. With mods it'll go next level.

Agreed on music btw. Inon Zur has done a better job here than in Fallout 3/4 IMO.

Oh and this shit looks dope on my ultrawide. Especially when exploring a planet.

Were there any other patches in the past day? Don't want to look at a progress bar when I get home from work in an hour or so.

Im stuck in my first combat. How to you lock on? The lasers and missiles do nothing. Ive hit this ship a hundred times. what am I doing wrong?

What IGN meant by slow start, is they spent too much time in the character creator.
Sounds like the guy is bit of a donkey tbh. Saw some stuff floating around about him not knowing that sneak and persuasion were skills you had to unlock to be effective at.

That lock picking minigame is already grinding my gears...
Took me a second to figure it out. You have to cycle the different locks on the right side and find the one that fits with the white bars.

I can't find controller setting I am comfortable with. Kind of feels janky to me using the controller. I also got stuck on a rock in the early tutorial. I will probably end up playing PC exclusively if I do not get used to the controller. KB/Mouse felt good at least in the very early tutorial. Then I had life interrupt my gaming time.

So what the reviewers said was true.

Would you say the Standard edition is better to get?

Yay. Pronouns. Can probably look forward to that in any Microsoft game going forward. It's been 5 minutes with no bugs or crashes. Great job Bethesda.
