I keep saying it but Todd needs to retire or step back into a more advisory role. He's a man who once created incredible games, but his mentality is still stuck in 2006 - 2011. What was amazing and groundbreaking roleplay back then, isn't making a splash in modern gaming. On top of that, his decade old approach to RPG design also isn't as refined as it used to be. Starfield is so absent of personality, flare, and interesting lore. Even from an aesthetic standpoint, it's just a dull and ugly looking game. When I think of Starfield I think of White, Gray, Brown and Black. It just comes off like a dead universe devoid of charm and color.

Didn't they also said that the reason SF didn't exist later was because of lack of technology to create the game?
Chessuz, these guys at Bethesda are something else.

I loved Starfield, but I definitely noticed the absence of a dynamic gore system. Might seem little or trivial, but it’s these small things that add up.

(Static gore and bodies lying about were not adequate compensation).

Gore wouldn't have added anything significant, IMO. There are much bigger things that need a solution.

Honestly, with most enemies having space suits on, I think gore would not add much. One of the least offensive things this game has done. I am currently playing Starfield to give patches and DLC a try and they have improved it. But still the biggest annoyance is managing inventory. So fucking annoying and they didn't improve it much with patches. The game takes place in the far future. Maybe by then, everyone is bi and the wildest club in the galaxy has some fat guys in spandex doing the trump dance. It could happen.

I think the game was good. Too much loading though, even if it was fast.
Wasn’t for everyone but yeah I enjoyed it a ton. And I easily spent 50 hours just building space ships, underrated feature.
Never understood the hype on the post-completion NG+ changes though. Finished it once and understand the general concept but for me it was brutal to lose the created content. They should’ve kept the outposts and ships. Could’ve been cool to stumble over a deserted outpost you’ve made yourself or see your old ship at a shipyard or flying around in space.

Regarding gore in general I always turn it off or mod it out. So no loss here for me.

Bunch of idiots.
I mean, why the fuck did they think THAT was the thing we'd not want in this? lol

I was expecting it to be like Fallout in space (Splatter perk is a fucking must) to not have this in Starfield is wild lol

Anyone know if a mod exist for this?

I wonder why they stuck with the creation engine all these years. Bethesda Games Studio have all this creative talent but on the technical side it's like everyone lied on their resumé.

Yeah that was a big mistake. One of many reasons the game was dull. The whole experience felt like a downgrade compared to their past games.

$200 million+ dollars over 8 years and they still couldn’t reproduce systems from their prior games like visual dismemberment or looting affecting attire.

Can’t be calling for devs to manage budgets properly and optimize resources and then show up to scoff at a reasonable reason for cutting out scope that wasn’t necessary.
Fair. However, looking at Skyrim and Fallout 4 the question is what Bethesda added or focused on with Starfield that justifies those cuts.
