STARFIELD |OT| 2023: A Space Toddity

Really enjoyed the Escape quest in Creations. Something a little bit different.
Yes, it's $5, and we know you're outraged, shut up. :messenger_tears_of_joy:
New ones? I haven't looked since the 1st Tracker Alliance ones. If its $5, sounds like they lowered it from $7 for the 1st ones.

Have a new game plus question for people that have played it.

is there anything worth seeing during repeat playthroughs? The couple of new interactions with Constellation at the beginning were fun but it very quickly went back to artifact chasing. Anything special I am missing out on?

Just a few minor additional bits of dialogue here and there. And you can pick 3 choices at the end. Mostly just to see a different boss fight.

I'll pick it up
I played it again using completely different methods this time - I'd say this is arguably the best quest in the entire game. Apparently has at least three different endings… Had at least a couple of hours from it so far for the $5 and might try it again with a guide to get the best outcome.

If Shattered Space matches this for quality? Yes please.

I just picked it up. Might wait until the end of the month and play it with the expansion and new vehicle.

Just now realized how insane Elemental Pull is if you're scanning a planet. Got to a planet with 8 resources to scan. Hit the power 3x in 60 sec and had all 8.

Great news, with the new Expansion, the quest line I was bugged out on is fixed! I have now completed all the factions and main quest.

1000/1000.

Finally got around to trying the car. Its nearly perfect. Fun as hell. They got the physics just right to make it usually land upright and get over tons of terrain without being too unbelievable. Can even drive up mountains. Only complaint is the gun seems pretty weak. Not sure if that can be upgraded.

After thoroughly enjoying shattered space i thought i would go back to doing all my pointless side quests but then i started on the path of mopping up some more main side quests and the main story which I'd completely diverted from last year.

Absolutely loved the clone planet and how that went down. I think I'm now well and truly onto the end game.

Last night I did the Nishina? Science lab and managed to save everyone. What a fucking dope mission.

This game completely has its claws in me again. Getting baked and playing some classic Bethesda missions has me hooked.

I'm now finally levelling up my spacesuit mods etc and doing research so I know I'm going to have a good crack at base building at some point.

Basically, is there any good videos with guides of how to do base building, resource collection? I've never bothered with it before.

There are videos I browsed, but it was over a year ago. My advice is to try it out for yourself and then reference whatever base building videos you find only when you get stuck. It's kind of fun trying to figure out how to get it all up and running. It's surprisingly complex. When I actually got a few bases on different planets linked together I felt like I accomplished a lot. It's a bit stressful finding all the materials for each part you need, power sources, transport landing areas, storage areas, etc. It gets complicated. There are little tricks in how you can string together storage tanks and link it all. It's definitely a learning process. Then I think there's places to have it all shipped to the New Atlantis airport but I didn't get that far with it.

One video I saw was a guy that put 100 hours just into this part of the game and it was seriously shocking the scale of the operation he had going. I only dipped my toe in. I can't imagine how complicated this game would be if you had to do that and link up helium refineries to actually refuel your ship between jumps at certain systems. I think that was the plan at some point prior to launch. That's basically what most of the moons are for, they just made the game way easier since probably 1% of players could handle all that.

Holy shit the ending of Starfield is dumb af

There is no interesting revelation at all, and taking away all your gear and credits is a wtf moment. Cool I guess I'll reload the save and not do that so I can finish the side content with the gear I spent 75 hours building up.

That is what made me go from recommending it to not recommending it. The ending is just awful. Worse than Cyberpunk.

Beat Perfect Recipe. Its a nice simple quest. Stumbled upon Defense Mechanism which I've never found in Akila City ever so it has to be something added I would think. Now doing Escape and its pretty dang cool so far. Seems like one of the cooler quests in the game.

Also seems like the game has been patched. On 60 fps mode the game looks higher res with more detail in the textures than I remember in quality mode previously. Don't know if its just me but it looks better.

I thought they would've announced the next DLC at the Xbox event a few days ago. Guess they're saving it for the June showcase? The game kinda needs some more new, interesting content.

Played it at launch and dropped it after a few hours.

Tried again this weekend.

It's just so boring. What's with the huge treks across empty planets?

"I think as it comes to Starfield, I'm really excited for players to see what the teams been working on. We have some cool stuff coming, including free updates and features the players have been asking for, as well as a new DLC story. I can't go into all the details just yet, but I will say part of the team has been focused on space gameplay to make the travels there more rewarding. We're also adding some new game systems, and a few other smaller delights. There's also some really interesting stuff coming down the pipe from our verified creators. There's some fun stuff. I just want to say thanks. We really appreciate the support and the enthusiasm. We can't wait to get it into the hands of our players."

Where is this from?

About time they made space exploration interesting. Been waiting for that to restart a playthrough.

So the rumor is that this is coming to Sony Land next Spring? I had an amazing time when this released (bugs and crashes and all) and finished it. Will gladly purchase and lose myself again. Man I loved this game.

A lot of modders are upset with this verified creators nonsense; it seemed like a really good idea, but it's just another money grab by bethesda.
The only way to get a creation in the list that has achievements enabled, is to become a verified creator, that sounds great if it wasn't for the fact these aren't allowed to be free.
This means "verified creator" really just means "pay for achievement support" creators.

Are you sure about all that? There exist free verified creations and the FAQ itself says you can keep publishing free creations after you are verified. But if you go through the verification process, why not get paid for your work?

Do you have a source where modders complain about it?

I hope this means you can finally go through systems at "less than warp" speed to get more encounters on the way.

It's not about free verified creations, it's the achievement support, this doesn't exist for free because bethesda only reviews paid mods for the achievement flag; I've seen several modders that stopped updating or uploading mods because of this, like this one:

Does literally nothing to fuck with achievements yet it won't get the achievement flag.

Speaking of mods, are there actual quest mods for Xbox available as well? And new locations and such? I remember Fallout 4 and Skyrim having some very cool shit.

Has anyone played Star Wars Genesis total conversion mod, and what did you think about it?
It's awesome. Once story stuff is edited, it may as well be Kotor 3.

I'd wait for 10.0 to when Shattered Space gets overhauled as Korriban.

Genesis gameplay is more about gear then it is about level.

I think it'll end up being the closest thing to a Single Player Star Wars Galaxies or a full on Mandalorian game.

And is doing cool things using the Yuuzhan Vong in place of Starborn. It's some cool shit.

They changed a whole lot on some planets and Tatooine looks great.

I'm ready to lose another few hundred hours of my life whenever the next update/DLC comes out. Fucking love Starfield.
Hopefully the space update improves the space travel and immersion. I know we'll never get seemless space <> planet surface, but even between destinations, would be cool if you can free walk in your ship while it travels or something like that.
