I see that Russia's standards for infrastructure and housing facilities are as low as their human rights standards.

After injuring his wrist while on a practice run on the slopestyle course yesterday, Shaun White has decided to pull out of the event altogether.

Norway's Torstein Horgmo, who was a medal hopeful, was forced to pull out of the competition after breaking his collarbone during a practice run on Monday. On Tuesday, Finnish rider Marika Enne was carted off the course with a concussion.
Ouch.

Putin is going to be beyond humiliated. He's not a dictator who is sheltered from the foreign media. He's going to start blaming everyone except Putin.

This is what $50 billion gets you.

And to think they're trying to establish Sochi as some kind of recommendable place.

After the Olympics, F1 (The Russian Grand Prix).

Several other competitors injured themselves on training runs, so it looks like something is not quite right with the slope. One of our riders shattered her knee today and she said that jumps are just way too high.
Damn
I hope the hockey rinks have good ice

Scary thing is how many potential injuries are going to occur during the live broadcasts.. I shudder to think what the downhill skiing its going to look like if the snowboarding is already that fucked up.

I actually never knew it was okay for toilet paper to be flushed down the toilet.

My family comes from Mexico and I've pretty much lived in the U.S. my whole life.

We still throw toiler paper in its own place here in our home. And it's a fairly new house on a fairly new division from 2005.

Also just recently found that it is safe to drink water out of the faucets or hose here in the U.S. as well. We still purchase water out of the 5 gallon vending machines, been doing it my whole life.( I guess it isn't too different from people purchasing bottled water)

I guess it became a custom.

How is this even possible? Even if you don't talk to people there's TV and stuff.

We call it a pumping pistol. It's says poorly to make sure to not forget the pistol in the tank hole before we go to avoid situation like this

Ah that makes sense. Still funny though, the literal translations are killkng me. Did the $50billion not stretch to getting a native English speaker to proof read?

9 billions went through a 30 miles railroad to connect Sochi to the mountain sites.

9 Billions for 30 miles. A russian magazine estimate that they could have covered the tracks with beluga caviar for that price.

A LOT of people got their pockets full from these 50 billions. And obviously not the english teachers.

So um... what's the World Cup going to be like then!??

This is already well past being a complete disaster, and the games haven't even started.

I feel like Putin may get a bit more involved in that after Sochi's insane overspending/poor initial showing. If things to really south in Sochi he may actually demand results.

Shabby toilets and murky water from hotel springs don't really matter. It's a disaster that IOC feigns apolitical innosence and refuse to commit to supporting LGBT activists, but as far as the olympics themselvs: A disaster is if the events don't run smoothly and we still can't say anything about that. Skiers at the cross country slopes today said they 'exceeded expectations', so not every tidbit is negative.

So if this all goes bad which it looks like it is. You would think the IOC would be shitting about Rio Olympics right about now.

I guess they haven't spend enough money yet considering they are now painting grass:

My neighborhood does this with my HOA dues. It looks horribly, washes away in a week, and doesn't fool anyone. It is the winter, grass isn't supposed to be a lush green.

Forget this TP disposal location debate where are the bidets? As far as I am concerned civilized living begins with having a toilet/bathroom with bidet installed.
