Maybe I'm missing something but the SteamVR perf test doesn't show a results thing for me.

edit: Nevermind, worked on the second time.

This is strange, we have the exact same setup:

Not that it actually matters, I'll probably still have to get a 970 first if I wanna preorder a Vive.

Weird. The test just detects the Intel HD 4000 GPU only and not my NVidia GPU. Also how to to try the test in normal view (not double like VR) without VR and using the mouse to look around.?

ModBot

Not a mod, just a bot.
This is a scheduled automated repost on behalf of Sch1sm, who is running this raffle.

ModBot said:
I am giving away 2 Steam keys. To enter this giveaway, send a PM to ModBot with any subject line. In the body, copy and paste the entire line from the message below that corresponds to the game you want. (if you include more than one game, you will be blocked from entering). Confused? Watch this GIF tutorial or ask for help.

ModBot Basics:
- This giveaway has a manual blocklist. The giver has identified members who abuse giveaways and restricted them from participating.
- I really appreciate thank you messages, but please send them to me (Sch1sm, not ModBot!) via PM instead of in thread.
- Do not trade keys you win off-site to enrich yourself. Don't try to claim games you have no interest in collecting or playing. Don't claim games to give them to friends off-site.
- If the key is already taken you will not receive a reply. Replies may take a minute or two.

Rules for this Giveaway:
- Only GAF members who are NOT junior members are eligible for this giveaway.
- If you are a lurker you are not eligible for this giveaway. You need five or more posts in either the current Steam thread or the previous one to be eligible
- This giveaway is a raffle. The winners will be selected by random draw 3 hours after the draw was created. Any games not claimed after that point will be given away first come first serve.

How does Witcher 3 play with keyboard and mouse?
It's really well implemented, and the ability to use hotkeys for more than 2 items (4 with the hold modifier, which is super awkward to use) is super useful. The added precision does not really translate into the game much though, which is not too surprising since it's an (non-isometric) RPG and not, say, a FPS. The only place that is much easier with KB/M are the horse races. On that note, fuck horse races in Witcher 3.

The Steam equivalent of the drunk friend who keeps offering to pay your tab all night.
Lara calls a lady a

in Rise of the Tomb Raider, therefore Rise of the Tomb Raider is my GOTY

Cool. Will try out non-VR mode.
Midnight 02/22 here, sooooooo:
Happy birthday Sch1sm! SFV, nice. No clue what to guess lol
Hacknet is probably my favourite 2015 game and would have been in my GOTY list had I played it in time.
And TIS... well. TIS.
Watched the trailer of TIS and well, it looks complicated.

Is your avatar from Game of Thrones? I think I have seen her before.

I'm actually contemplating reading the books now, as I haven't watched more than 3 episodes of the show's Season 1. So I could head out and pick up book one.

dont bother. While the books are better, the series is looking more and more like it isn't going to wrap up any time soon. The TV show, while clearly being the lesser of the two, is actually going to finish one day and has the real endgame in mind already as GRRM gave the writers and showrunners that info.

Now book readers are scared the TV show is going to spoil the books, which is telling of where things stand as of right now.

Plus, the show will prep you for everyone's favorite Telltale season of games, too, so it's even steam related!

I didn't expect the graphic card to make it, but I was surprised to see that the cpu made it since Oculus turned it down.

Not that I have money for either.

M+kb works very well and I actually prefer to play the game that way.

Great to hear, thanks for the replies!

anyone scared playing games on steam with that recent thread about the spoofing?

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1187513

Of course not. CSGO will be played as normal.

Witcher 3 is actually a lot like GOT in terms of writing. Like they have random nudity and sex scenes just for lulz. (Not that there is anything wrong with that)

But why should I not bother? I don't particularly care if the show or book leads the plot on, I just want a world to immerse myself into in book form at the moment. It's probably a universe I can spend my time in for the next few years. :)

Actually from the leaked material and casting news, the new season would still mostly be within book 5, and the show runners are trash.

Guess what's also trash? The Telltale game.

Glad it's finally starting to turn around for you. I hope you can now appreciate why people insist that you need to pay attention to the game while playing it. Like I said before, it doesn't have one single revelatory moment that changes everything. Instead, you'll have a lot of these cool little moments that will help you develop a deep appreciation for how intricately and deliberately this island has been designed. One just has to pay attention.

There are still things left for you to discover, btw.

Also add me on Steam if you want to talk about stuff. I know you're a league player but I won't hold it against you :p

i still have a lot of reservations with how some stuff works and i kind of hate all the audiolog+video content i've seen so far but yeah, i'm starting to appreciate how you slowly grow capable of instinctively noticing the patterns the game wants you to notice

but you know, i felt the same way about squarecells and it took it a whole lot less time and i didn't get motion sickness from that so...

well, because there's a possibility that book readers will not have closure at the rate that GRRM is producing them.

The show is fine, it has moments where they miss the mark but it's not garbage, at least not yet. I'll admit that last season was the weakest of the seasons yet, though you have to wonder how much of that has to do with them treading water while they wait for GRRM to stop Full Metal Alchemist-ing them.

Also, how bad is the TT game really? I haven't played it yet but i do have it sitting in my backlog.

I haven't played it either but I doubt it's that bad. Ignoring the usual TT choice doesn't actually matter, I think the big complaint was that it was kind of boring since it feels like a filler type arc.

well i also remember people not being happy at all with the ending. I figure it helps to know that the ending isn't going to be good so i can manage my expectations properly

Can someone post a video of Valve's announcement from E3 2007?

What announcements? They showed Orange Box stuff for the press, but that's all. If you mean stage stuff, they were at EA's Summer Media Event a year prior, but we only have trailers from that.

I think it's the Orange Box then, I'll go look it up thanks.

I've said this a while ago, the game is like season 5, they kept missing the essence of ASOIAF, only obsessed in creating shocking moments. TT game is mind-numbing torture porn, even the new Tomb Raider games are better than that.
