Thank you for Legendary, The_Monk. It's one of those games I've been curious about for awhile now, so I look forward to checking it out. : )

Yes, it needs to read a controller. (Or maybe it can be faked by using some kind of keyboard-to-joystick software, but I wouldn't know abbut that.)

Serious Sam is a wicked gahbidge series for chowdaheads.
Apparently I missed something. Why are you saying those things?
Basically no one understands the Steam controller because they don't actually read anything about it. The see it and react, like some kind of base beast clawing away in the dark.

Eventually, the creature sinks its teeth into what it thinks is sustenance: "this controler will be terrible for fighting games, and, therefore, shouldn't exist."

Mind you, they think they've wrapped their maw around life giving food -- mana from heaven -- but, no, they're mistaken. They quickly find they are chewing on their own cud because as the blind beasts of burden they are they've been shitting wherever they stand.

Are you sure? I remember it working just fine with mouse.

I tried it with the mouse first after they added the badge, and it didn't register.
I connected a Dualshock and used the mouse, still didn't register.
I connected a Logitech Precision gamepad and used that, and it registered.
Maybe you'll have more luck.

Very LTTP, I know (slept in!), but the controller looks totally and utterly 'Valve' - nice to see them trying something innovative.

The shout-outs to both Civ5 and ETS2 made my day - I'm very much looking forward to cruising past fields of sunflowers in my Scania while receiving haptic feedback from the rumble strips, via those rather intriguing touch pads.

With Steam/Valve's pulling power, it'll be very interesting to see how many (and how quickly) devs add support for this controller's features, i.e. making use of the touch screen display etc. Exciting times.

The Rayman Legends daily challenges are great but goddamn, those fucking cheaters...

They're probably end of line and only available from scumbagsthird party sellers that jack the prices.

That was my first thought. Audio Technica probably stopped production and the third parties are jacking up the prices.

Here is the new model, has significantly better aesthetics than the original AD700 if you ask me. More expensive though, let me know if this is over your price range Exuro.

Be careful buying headphones from third party sellers, even if it is fulfilled by Amazon. Lots of fakes.

Ah sorry, I thought people were talking about general use, not the badge activation. Yes, that requires a controller.

Can early access games change in price when they get fully released? Just wondering if State of Decay is always gonna be $20 because that seems like a fair price.

The Pac-Man CE DX+ leaderboards were full of cheaters last time I played, too. Hopefully people will police their boards regularly, but it's really hard to prevent

While a lot of devs do change (or will change) their prices when alphas become the full game, I don't see Undead Labs raising it. $20's what the game's selling for on XBLA.

State of Decay devs said the publisher, Microsoft, set the price. They didn't say anything about the price changing.

I know you wrote that with your tongue firmly in cheek, but I haven't heard anything that makes me think this controller will be as good as a traditional gamepad for fighting games, shmups, 2d platformers and the like. That doesn't mean it's worthless and shouldn't exist, but it does mean that for people who are really into those genres (like me!), it's not going to make all other controllers obsolete overnight.

There seems to be this weird mentality at work when it comes to gaming enthusiasts. Everything's an either/or proposition. Either your console/handheld/whatever is the best, or it's worthless shit. Two products can't have different strengths and coexist in the same marketplace. The same thing seems to be at work with the Steam controller. The people who like it are already proclaiming it the best controller ever made, sight unseen, and are making funeral plans for traditional controllers. The people who don't like it are declaring it useless, worthless trash. I think both sides are starting to take things to a ridiculous extreme at this point.

Ay carumba! Didn't realize Microsoft was their publisher on Steam, too. At least they've given up on GFWL in newer releases (and forever!) :)

Okay. That's fine then. I wasn't sure about the XBLA price, and for some reason I was thinking it'd be a $15 game. Probably just wishful thinking.

Oh god, oh god, what have I done ?... I tried Splinter Cell Conviction tonight and, well, even if as I said I'm not good at stealth and so would approach the game with an open mind...
So yeah, it's not a splinter cell, it doesn't have the fluidity of an assassin's creed, let's say it's a tps with high emphasis on stealth. But that's not my point, other people are surely more suited to trash it on that aspect. Me, sorry to say, I like writing, I like plot, I even at one time in my youth thought a porn with a plot could be interesting (I was an idiot). So having that element in mind I tell you : how can't I understand a fucking line of this thing ?
Tom Clancy games are traditionnally ridiculous plot wise, but hell you understand them. Here, maybe because the game was released during Ubi big crossmedia love and they thought they were doing a movie, I can't make head or tails about that pile of shit.
There are flachbacks, micros flashbacks, the main antagonist is presented briefly during a cinematic in the early game and now I'm not even sure how he is named. There are names, a lot of names, there are good guys that acts like world class assholes, there is a president, a vice president, a lot of people, and the game fail to make them interesting in the least.

Please Ubi, please. I will have to go to a wiki to understand your plot. There is a problem.

Blinded by the luminous glory that is David Bowie's physical manifestation.
Huh. Groupees brought back the KISS2 bundle as KISS2Reloaded
Wonder if the bonuses are the same as last time, without Train Sim, or if they managed a new deal...

No Train Sim. They obviously don't want my $.75. >:|

You're playing a game in the series that was meant to half-reboot and connect a meta-plot that they kinda crapped out on due to development hell. Don't worry about the plot. Worry more about the butchered stealth.

Thankfully, Blacklist took some steps to fix that but still wasn't as good as SC1-2.

This is still a thing?
(I assume Stump just hasn't updated the text for that line, because that's not really 'recently' anymore ;)

JaseC

gave away the keys to the kingdom.
I'm curious as to whether or not this restriction applies to trading also:

Notice: Purchases made in Russia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine will only be giftable to users in these countries.

I wouldn't think so, given the phrasing, however it's possible that there's no "Add to inventory" option when checking out.

I tried to play Bastion on my 6-yr-old macbook earlier today.

It runs fine except the ground textures don't load.

I'm tempted to play the entire game this way.

I would suggest against it since the floor animation looks so cool. One suggestion is to get an Ubuntu distro and throw it on the laptop as it may run better on Steam for Linux.
