Lorne Balfe's music on the Revelations soundtrack put Kyd's to shame. His work was feeling stale at that point. The main theme for AC3 was outstanding as well. AC2 level work wasn't coming from Kyd again.

AC3 had a couple of nice tracks (which is more than I can say for Black Flag), but it was mostly uninspired background noise, and as for Kyd's work feeling stale I'd put much of the blame on Ubi for sticking with Renaissance Italy for three full games. In any case, though, I'd love to see what he could do now that Ubi's moved on to new backdrops.

Guys

I need a REALLY good game in which you can play two players (online) at. It's supposed to be very easy to get into (for me and a 15 year old guy) but it should be addictive and have some sort of deep system (on top of it, again, being very easy to get into).

Anything?

Castle Crashers
Orcs must Die 2
Torchlight 2 on normal
Terraria
Starbound

Yoshichan

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?
THANKS guys, I really appreciate all the help here!

Lawl. My dad was trying to recover a couple of old documednts from a very old computer we had. When he finally got the computer starting Steam automatically logged on my Steam user, my first ever Steam user (I have ahd 3, first I forgot the password and username, second got hacked) and there Wheelman, Breach and a couple of other games was.

Im gonna go to the cinema today to watch The Hobbit 2 with some friends, so I won't touch them before tommorrow though.

Btw, is there any new deals or bundles going on? Any big news?

Dear Steam,

Please stop defaulting to Grid View. It ain't gonna happen.

Sincerely,

Me.

Grid view is the best view.

I really need to give New Vegas a go, just havn't had the time to commit to it. Loved FO3, and start NV a few times.

You run any visual mods with it? I tried a few and my guy turned all transparent and shit...and then the game would just crash when i went into the casino.

Man I need to get back into that game

Nah, the only external tweaking I do is adding ambient occlusion through the Nvidia drivers. The rest are ini tweaks. I don't have the patience required to sift through the crazy amount of mods to find a good personal collection to run with.

Grid view is the best view.

You should definitely use this opportunity to try out family sharing with your old account.

Maybe it's not when you have +2k games on your library... I really like grid view, but ti don't have that many games...
Grid view is only good if you have 30 games or so installed, max. Details (/w icons) is the way to go when you've got a whole bunch of stuff installed, or just want to look through your library quickly.

Just started playing One Finger Death Punch. Kinda been ignoring it for a long while (Silver Dollar Games didn't help), but it has surprisingly solid gameplay. Simple yet rewarding. Happy to see it has been greenlit.

Can I buy Wheelman off you in the event that Valve allows users to exchange games?

Gonna think about it. But what's the event?

Worst thing is that Steam automatically logged in and if I quit it or I turn off/restart my computer it won't start up automativally for some reason. It was probably a bug that made Steam start up automatically.

If I turn it off, I won't be able to log in because the mail service I used with my account is dead, so I can't recover password or anything. :(

Hey everybody... Ben from Ripstone Games here (Intern, so I may or may not keep introducing myself as that for a while). I'm here to let people know that Stick It To The Man, which came out on PS3/Vita last month, in between the two next gen console launches, is coming to Steam TODAY. If anybody has any questions, please, ask away. I'll do my best to answer anything and everything.

http://www.gamasutra.com/view/pressreleases/206986/STICK_IT_TO_THE_MAN_OUT_TODAY_ON_STEAM.php

Stick It To The Man will be available to download from Steam on Friday 13 th December 2013 (unlucky for some) at 11:00am PST. The game will be priced at £11.99 / €13.99 / $14.99 with a 40% launch discount for one week only! The Steam version of the game features Trading Cards & Achievements. Grab the game here: http://store.steampowered.com/app/251830/

Cheers all. :)

I mean that I'd be in interested in acquiring the game should Valve allow users to trade games between accounts (not that I think this is something that's likely to eventuate any time soon).

I'm 20 levels into Velocity: Ultra and it's pretty rad if you have an ounce of a competitive streak in you in terms of achieving the best medal per level. This is based on time 'til completion, enemies killed, survivors saved and other such criteria. Straight-forward game conceptually (rescue survivors and make it to the end of each stage) since it's arcadey by nature, but thus far there are enough little gameplay hooks involved to keep things engaging or to provide a new angle to the standard formula (like the teleporter pod that allows you to backtrack). From that point on it really does get over-the-top (in a satisfying way) in its approach to juggle multiple mechanics simultaneously while attempting to traverse a stage as quickly as possible in order to achieve the highest rank.

Another impulsive purchase of a game that was previously on a handheld that I don't regret, in between this and Steamworld Dig. The 20% discount coupon was a smart move.

Ah. I see.

If Im lucky, the computer will never turn off/restart if it does, the Steam account is fucked forever.

Are you mocking us? I mean, we know steam reasonably often does deal for 75%, not 40%. And often games that launch (IIRC) are 50% off. Your post seems to be blatant advertising. Is this allowed?

I'm guessing you no longer have access to the e-mail address tied to the account? Just change it -- you don't need to confirm this using the current one.

40% at launch is a pretty solid discount...most do 10-20%.

As for the advertising, no comment

40% off on release day is a good discount, regardless of how you feel about this advertising spot. It's had good reviews, and looks like a decent Steam version (full controller support, at least - I haven't played it yet obviously) so I don't mind him letting us know it's soon available at a good price.

Are you high? 40% off on release date is insane. It's usually 10-25%.

I've been posting here for years, only just got an internship. Been in the Stick It thread for a while talking with folks about the game, so I certainly hope I would have been made aware before now... but if this isn't appropriate i'll edit my post.

I hope 40% is a good Launch week discount...

He doesn't have to give ANY discount, y'know. Just be thankful.

Hey, V_Ben, thanks for the info, but your post did come off a little bit infomercial-ish. Just telling us the game's release date and giving us a link to the SteamPowered page is usually good enough. SteamGAF usually makes its own choices without any help.

Smart looking game, though. Reminds me a little of Psychonauts visually?

I'm sorry, I'm so new to all of this, I'll edit my post down to a more acceptable level :)

We have had that comparison in some of the reviews, aye :)

Hm I installed Steam on Fedora 20 beta last week and was surprised how smooth everything was and how all the games (well the ones that run on Linux) worked fine, since i've always had problems with Fedora before....

Steam runs on Fedora (and by extension RedHat) now?
I remember trying before, but I could only find Debian Packages...

Guys DmC, Castlevania or Darksiders 2?

They're all decent in their own way. (Disclaimer: I own all 3 on steam but only have completed DmC on PC. Castlevania and Darksiders 2 were platinumed on PS3.)

Out of the 3, I probably liked Darksiders 2 the most, but it's got a lot of extra elements in it that the other 2 don't have -- so it depends on if you want some Zelda-eque elements like dungeon exploration and puzzle solving as well as the idea of "loot".

Castlevania was a decent ride that was all over the map -- it's a pretty game that suffered from poor framerate (on consoles). At 60fps, it may be better than I remember. It's like a God of War game with some Uncharted-type climbing/platforming (but with the possibility of death).

DmC was surprisingly decent for being developed by NT. I think the Capcom influence on the combat shows, but it's not quite the DMC you remember... at times it almost feels like a musou and the lack of a lock on can get *really* aggravating. The Vergil's Downfall DLC was a little generic, but the character was different enough to play as that it was fun overall.

Instead of trying to get Steam to transfer games (which was said to be a resounding no by JaSec I think), can't you ask Steam to help you update the account's email address or something?

Ben

I've completed the first 3 chapters on Vita and the game seems like it's pretty unique/interesting if you're into adventure games. Didn't know it was coming to Steam.

I don't think there's any reason to get BFG when you own the original, you can mod the old one to look much better.

Support would require proof of ownership (e.g. a scan of a retail key and receipt), which, given the age of account, he's unlikely to have, but as he's already logged in he can just change it without any hassle as you don't need to first confirm the change by accessing the e-mail account currently used as the contact address.

Edit: Oh, wait, he needs the password, which I'm guessing he doesn't have. :p

As expected, my SPUF thread about the Arkham Origins issue got a couple of absolutely pointless replies.

- So here is this issue which seems to happen across different platform-specific version of the game and has been reported several times previously.

- Oh gee that's swell, but have you tried updating your drivers? Or .NET/Directx/C++ redistributables? Or verifying your game cache?

(you can imagine full caps here, if that pleases you) Of course I did, you bloody stupid morons who post this in every troubleshooting thread on every PC gaming forum on Earth!

God, I hate these people. They're effectively turning PC gaming into a cargo cult AND making it hard to find the actual relevant information.

(here's the thread for the reference: http://steamcommunity.com/app/209000/discussions/0/630799905182812009/. I feel somewhat bad for saying this stuff, since they probably genuinely want to help, but that makes it even more embarrassing and annoying)

I haven't played a game like this in ages and I remember it getting above average reviews. I've bought more expensive games for dumber reasons.

I got it nearly a year ago for £2 through some local retail sale. In terms of sports mini game fests, it is decent enough. Best played with local multiplayer (no online) otherwise, you will tire pretty quickly.

Wasn't there a Nintendo 64 version of Doom that wasn't like the others? I remember really liking that game. Maybe I'll go look for an emulator...
