It sounds like you're looking at an older bundle, one released prior to the new key system (it's not retroactive). Clicking the button should just generate a key you can copy/paste. Even with the new system you can gift a key after the link for yourself has been generated; it's no longer an option only when you click the link and redeem the item yourself, and if you already own the game in question then you have absolutely nothing to worry about as if it's already tied to your account then you can't use up the key (the page will say you already own the game but won't remove the gift function).
