I really, really hope Deus Ex is profitable for SE/Eidos. If any game deserves it this year, it's this. 55k players at once is really encouraging, too!

I really, really hope Deus Ex is successful enough for someone to make a game that is like it but with vampires, sluts, and humor.

Metro 2033 for $5? Sure, what the hell. How can I say no to that price? I know nothing about it aside from the fact that people post amazing screenshots from it. Only 40% left!

It's even cheaper in Euroland: 2,50€

Crazy price (but I pass since I don't enjoy first person shooters)

Bloodlines 2 would be really great .

But who would make it?

Eidos is busy doing Thief 4 (which, all signs point to, will be great).

BioWare? LOL.

Valve?... Valve could do the franchise justice but Valve has nothing to gain from Bloodlines 2.

Bethesda is the only company left. You wouldn't want Bethesda to touch the Vampire franchise, believe me.

Here is a four-hour video of dudes playing it and talking with Relic guys. See if you like the look of it. They start off with the demo stuff but then they move into other levels and show a bit of multiplayer.

Yes, you are wrong. Yes, of course it doesn't feel like Deus Ex.

Well obviously it's not like Deus Ex, I just meant it's hard to go from a smart old school style game like that to something that's pretty much the definition of modern gaming. Linear corridors, giant roided dude shooting and slashing everything in sight with blood flying everywhere. Plus I have a hard time enjoying these god of war type games, like I said it's hard to not feel like I've done everything after an hour. I'll probably buy Warhammer when it really drops in price, like $10 or something.

Obsidian.
For a while they had Mitsoda too...

Metro bought for €2.5

No cereal for a couple of days.
I was shopping yesterday and bought some cereal for €3,89.- ... could have gotten the cheaper one and Metro 2033. Life is funny that way :)

So, I wasn't going to buy Metro 2033 for 5 bucks because I'm not really going to play it anytime soon (or ever, I guess).

But it was 2,50 on euroland, so I didn't contain myself and got somebody from the Steam Gifting thread to give it to me. I, then, paid them 3 euros, to cover paypal conversion taxes, as I can't gift from where I live.

That means I paid 4,30 for Metro 2033, meaning I saved like 70 cents doing it that way.

And I'm never going to play it.

Bravo, Gabe Newell.. Bravo!

If you bought Metro but were never going to play it, why not buy it and keep it to use as trading material?

I haven't bought a game recently, you can do that now right there is some check box during checkout?

I got Metro 2033 also. Since I'm building a new PC soon, I figured $5 is worth buying both a game and a benchmark.

Lol, Metro is awesome for both of those reasons. Great experience.

Can anyone confirm that question about buying to add to your gift registry? Thanks

Yes, it gives the option of buying as gift but not sending it.

If you send the gift via email... it stays locked to your account until it gets redeemed.

So you can send it to your own email if you like, and you can always resend it to a different person or email later.

I'm always interested in looking at Steam stats. I notice the total pool of concurrent users online is at 3.8 million, so the service is creeping up to 4 million. I think this is the highest Steam has ever been at in terms of concurrent users. Will Steam push over 4 million concurrent before Dota 2 release?

Once Dota 2 releases, the servers will probably be so busy people won't be able to launch games for like a week. ;(

Luckily with the new server infrastructure they are currently implementing it makes it easier to add more servers on the fly from external server hosts.

It's also just better in general.

The Dota 2 beta will push it to 4 million. The live version will push it to 5 million.

Even without DOTA, Winter Steam sale would push it over. Every big sale has always increased the amount of users on by a few hundred thousand. After last Christmas, it was around 3.1-3.2, prior to it, 2.7-2.8. Etc.

It might pass 4 million today! The counter is past 3.9 million already.

Very glad more people are getting to play Metro 2033 now. Shit is awesome one of my favorite FPS this gen for it's atmosphere and focus on realism with the masks and shit like that.

Wuht? It was £5 for the UK, unless it got cheaper.

I guess even the UK gets screwed over on Steam sometimes.

Ah, so you are human then. You've been frightening me the way that every time I've logged in to Steam you've bought a new 49€ game. :D

I now own every single Valve game. Except Garry's Mod. feelsgodman.jpg

Happy Birfday Salsa!

Edit: This was my present to you btw. Getting Counter-Strike 1 Anthology. You're welcome.

Garry's mod is not a valve game.
