Velvet Assassin was never this cheap though.

I felt the same way, I thought it looked interesting, but reviews were really bad. Joe Molotov is the only guy on my friends list who has it, I think, because he buys every game ever. Has anyone played it who didn't hate it, and thinks it's at least worth $5?Domstercool said:Been waiting for cheapo Velvet Assassin. I was always interested in the game, but it kind of got a bit punished by reviews. For that price though I'm willing to see if I'll enjoy.
Yep it is. A lot of older games on Steam seem like that. I bought the F.E.A.R. pack a while back and couldn't stomach playing the original again...mad memory leak or something. Ran like ass. I swear it ran better back in the day on my shitty Pentium 3 or whatever I had.Obsessed said:Chronicles of Riddick seems... poorly optimized.

This. I almost doubled my fps by disabling it. Also, has anyone had any luck using fxaa with riddick? I can't get it to work using some dude's fxaa solution.Stallion Free said:Turn off ambient occlusion.

Obsessed said:I have everything on low...
Let me put it this way. I can play Dragon Age Origins at a solid 45-60fps on medium settings. I can handle The Witcher 2 in low settings. Batman AA runs at a solid 45-60fps on mid.
I don't see why this game is running at 3fps on low.
jaundicejuice said:So you've got a medium to low spec comp, does it barely meet the requirements posted on the store page?
That's your problem. You need an I9 with 16GB of RAM, like everyone else has. (I have no clue what the problem is, lol)Obsessed said:I'm almost positive it exceeds them.
I have an I7 processor. 8GB of RAM. And my graphics card is a Radeon HD 6770M.

LocoMrPollock said:On the graphics options menu, you can keep scrolling down to get to ssao and some other stuff that might be causing it to chugg. The game also runs in openGL so you might want to roll your graphic card drivers back as well, since the older drivers usually have better compatibility with GL.
Nabs said:3fps sounds crazy. I'd clear out CCC to be safe (esp. vsync).

jaundicejuice said:Uh, you should have no problems running this game. You have more RAM than I do, I have an i7 (quad core 2.8ghz) as well but I'm not certain how an Nvidia GTX 480 compares to that ATi card. I suspect the issue is likely your graphics card, specifically your driver.
ATi cards always seem to be problematic with certain games and require specific driver updates. I'd try looking on the STeam user forum or using your Google-fu.
Corky said:Judging by the fact that he has a laptop gpu, theres a chance that his i7 is dualcore. Also a 480 gtx is much better than a 6770m so comparing them is no use.

Did you turn off ambient occlusion? Also, I'm pretty sure that video card is garbage. Don't expect much from it.Obsessed said:I have AA turned off.
Actually they provide it right there on the site. I think in a zip or something.coopolon said:Ass Creed Bro would require you to download a copy of the game somehow (probably illegally) to use the CD key since it will not register on Steam or Origin.
For just general discussion about sites like this, see this thread.
It was if you bought it from like gogames.com at some point like me (2.50)Glass Rebel said:Velvet Assassin was never this cheap though.

JaseC said:Have they said anything regarding Rage? It's been slapped with a $30 Aussie Tax on Steam itself.
IntKeys are selling Space Marine for $35. I've purchased from them before a couple of times (FEAR 3 and The Witcher 2) and both keys activated just fine.
