Sanctum has DLC (!) and it's all on sale with a 10% discount. 6.25$ for five new maps? Has anyone bought these? I absolutely loved the game, probably my best buy from the last sale.

Yeah I'd like to see a DLC bundle for Civ 5 as well.

Sanctum is a cool game, but $6.25 seems expensive for all the DLC. I'll wait for a 75 percent off sale and grab the DLC.

I own all these games, and I just keep going back to LOL.
Been deciding between three. Dark Messiash, Call of Juarez:BiB, and Mass Effect. About 6 hours into ME while only half for each of the others.

I have a feeling the upcoming Winter sale is going to kill me.

Do Dark Messiah first. That game is the shit and I think I took about 12ish hours when I played through it so it's pretty manageable.

I actually really liked DM: M&M. The launch was a HORRIBLE, HORRRIBBBBLLEE mess, but when they got their crap together and I got a better PC, it was really awesome.

Well then when I can afford it I will look into it... Oh wait there is a Demo for Civ V! I'll try it out tonight when I get home from work. I definitely do not want to disappoint the master race now that I am getting back into it.

I paid 2.50 for Sanctum in the last Steam sale and got 20 hours out of it, I have no problem spending the price of a cup of coffee (har) for some new content.

Great patch.
As you can see, I never got around to playing it and don't care.

Sucks.

Last call for those that still want the Dreamcast collection for $3.50 USD.

Add me on Steam as Zaangamer.

MX : Which games ?

I can't find you. My Steam Link URL is in my profile, I'll take that off your hands if you still have it.

Unless I'm blind the Civ 5 GotY doesn't include all dlc, I don't see Korea listed or ancients world scenario pack listed. What's the point of a GotY edition and not including all the dlc.

Damn, good catch. That sucks.

deleted blob then it said I had to defrag the game and now Hamilton works (though still requires lower fidelity audio output, brilliant)

You could only, I don't know, get over 180 hours in the single player campaign?

I bought Civ 5 in a recent sale for 25$ and then I purchased all of the DLC for 50$ even more recently ask Forkball). While I have gained the use of those new Civs and Wonders in the main game but I haven't even touched the DLC scenarios yet and I've played Civ V's single player for over 180 hours.

If you'll sit down and log the hours the GotY edition is more than worth that asking price.

WAIT, we're doing Tequila shots in here?

Why wasn't I informed of this development?
Yup. It's the Gabe Newell Tequila Standoff. Basically, every time Ep. 3 is not announced, we all have a tequila shot.

I believe its region free. Salsa and I bought one from eBay and it was fine, although we're both from the U.S.
Wait, what?
Salsa, give me the deets!

Also, regarding Uruguay, check out "Submerged", a lovely Steven Seagal movie

I got Civ V for 12.50 in the last sale but I'm gonna wait on a sale on the DLC since, like you said, the normal game alone will last me forever. It's one of those series that's worth it even at retail though, really.

Why is Sanctum updating itself with a 1 gig patch? I thought DLC was extra?

I believe you are able to join online games with people who have the DLC (including playing the maps), so you still need to have the files on your computer.

It's probably all the DLC so when you actually purchase it all you're buying is the keys to unlock. I'm about to buy it all so I'll find out.

So if your friend has the DLC, you can play it free of charge? That's bloody fantastic.

Both Korea and Ancient World were released in August, so the GotY edition apparently includes all of the DLC released up to May. My guess? If they're planning a retail release of the GotY edition soon, it is possible that they're simply matching the content of the digital release to the retail release.

So is it a bargain? Not really. They offered vanilla Civ V for $12 not too long ago, and it wouldn't be surprising if Steam will have a sale on DLC during the winter, so you could get Civ V+All of the DLC for around $30-40 total, depending on the discount.

The point I was making wasn't, is it worth the cost, it definitely is. Its just weird leaving current DLC out of a GotY edition just released, digitally.

As a FYI, I bought the deluxe version day 1 and have all the dlc except for ancients pack and the useless explorers pack/maps only dlc.

Could be it, but I'd assume they could just easily stick dlc codes in the box like Borderlands GotY originally did. You need Steam anyway and the dlc sizes are small enough to not be an annoyance to download.

Nope. Because I never have, and never will.
I don't like Strategy games.
At least there is a demo so I can see. I haven't been to fond of strategy games either but I can't ignore the praise for this series anymore.

So the DLC for Sanctum is two new-ish maps (which look like remixes of existing maps), two new turrets and one new maze tile. I guess the DLC's been patched in so everyone can see the new content. It looks like you can host the map if you have it and invite people who don't and can buy and upgrade turrets others can't.

I agree that the omission is puzzling but they shouldn't let that stop them from buying the game if they're remotely interested. If there's even a glimmer of interest people should download the demo and give it a shot. Before Civ V I didn't consider myself to be much of a fan of strategy games but 180 some odd hours later...

I like that, at least I try and can check out the maps in-game first then. Wish it was just free maps, but what can you do these days.

Looks like my total time with Sanctum was only 12 hours, whoops. Whatever. I'll give this stuff a shot.

Also, not that anyone cares, but Nuclear Dawn came out today as well. I pre-ordered it on a whim a while back, curious to see how active the game is. 233 people right now according to Steam, yikes.

Deity is absolutely craaazy. I'm stuck back in the Renaissance while the other Civs are entering the Industrial era. The rate at which the AI controlled Civs can complete Wonders or create and sustain armies and cities is insane. I tired turtling with India and one city, but even with the consistent level of happiness and ability to focus on developing my one city, the generic Wonders and keeping my economy going enough that I could enter all research agreements, it wasn't enough. I think if I had been able to build the Porcelain Tower I would've been able to maybe keep up technology-wise. Research agreements were getting tossed my way like candy.

I'm assuming it's actually possible to win, though? Just don't let it burn you out on a game you like. :)
