Deus Ex : HR is a steamworks game, but zavvi delivery + shipment handling is terrible. I guess for that price it's a pretty good deal though.

Not always. Last time I ordered this summer I got the games in less than a week. If the stars are lined in the right order, there shouldn't be any problems.

Can valve ban your account for using those sites or they are safe?

They're perfectly safe. A legit key is a legit key; Steam/Valve do not discriminate as there's no "authorised reseller" program with Steam.

I didn't had any problem with zavvi shipping (yet), price is too good, I think I'm gonna risk it again.

If only they e-mailed me the cdkey too.

By the way, for cdkeys I use http://www.g2play.net/store/ , me and a couple of friends have bought there games and never had any problem with Steam. I bought the first L4D when it was released and Valve never did anything to my account.

I just beat Civ V on Immortal with India through a science victory with just two cities. Fuck yeah.

I love this game.
Most gaffers are gentlemen and scholars, but you sir!
you are a true believer!
doubted anyone bothered with civ5 deity run!
I've been trying and trying using romans but I get wiped out after around the 13-14 hours mark...
I might try your approach with india, though a 2 city society doesn't really appeal me :/

My problem exactly. I love havinga huge number of cities spread out everywhere and my territory claiming the land like wildfire. I'd go crazy with only two cities.

I just finished Fallout 3, and I loved it. But I recently discovered I never activated the DLC (seriously Bethesda?).

Regarding the ending (and the DLC):
Is it still a point of no return, or does the game actually continue once you activate the DLC?

I just need a yes or no answer for this. Thanks.

Nobody? :(

Just bought Alpha Protocol btw, can't go wrong for 2 bucks.

The happiness of the populace is what my entire game revolves around. A happy populace is a productive and growing one that allows you to build Wonders, buildings and units (if you need any) quickly as well as develop a strong economy. Also I've been leaning on the Rationalism policy track in the higher difficulty levels, India's consistent happiness plus the second tier policies where happiness adds to your overall science productivity and education institutions contributes to your happiness has been my core strategy.

In the lower difficulties I typically have five, maybe six cities spread a fair distance apart. The first four policies I unlock are the Tradition (to grow my borders quickly) and Liberty policy tracks, with the next two points going towards unlocking citizens and workers (whichever I need first) allows me to occupy a fairly large part of a continent, if not all of one. I struggle with that many cities in Immortal.

Push comes to shove, I've grind an opposing Civ to dust and capture their entire empire if I can, I've even liberated civs I saw as allies (didn't know you could do that until recently) but in the higher difficulties I'm finding conflict to be the less desirable path. I'd rather hunker down with a smaller advanced army than try to go toe-to-toe with all of the other civs massive caveman tech armies.

I'm trying to re-install Saints Row 2 to play co-op with the girlfriend and it won't let me change the resolution to 1080P without crashing. I've beat the game before with the same settings so this is pretty irritating. Always knew it was a bad port but I didn't run into many issues the first time around. Are there any launch options that I can put in Steam so it would change the resolution before it launches?

Trine any good? I heard praise here and there, but never bothered checking up on it myself. GAF consensus?

I'm back and forth on it. It looks great and having a PC game with local co-op is wonderful. On the downside I found that actual gameplay to be quite rote. I actually stopped about 70% done or so as I felt that I was just doing the same things over and over again. The combat was simple and never really progressed, and the puzzles were pretty insultingly simple all the way through the game, the only issue was trying to get the occasionally wonky physics system to do what you wanted it to do.

I found the game to be great fun until the last couple of levels where it goes from Puzzle/Platform to "kill kill kill" because the game decides to fill the levels with tons of enemies. I still don't think I've finished it because I just can't work up the will to slog through the final levels.

It also has some balance issues. Until the end you basically should never bother using the Knight. The Thief has better damage output for the majority of the game.

Oh and the Wizard can be kind of frustrating at times since the game has trouble recognizing shapes.

edit:

I said it was worth 5 dollars. Apparently I got it for 1.99 and not 5 dollars. Yeah, I take back my prior statement. Wait for $2.50 or less.

I got bored of it pretty quickly. I wouldn't recommend it to my friends for $5 but I'm sure many people would. If it was $2.50 I'd tell my friends it's worth that price. But that's just the amount of time I personally have put into it.

Trine really does get pretty annoying the farther in you get. The designers apparently think since enemies are not challenging or interesting to fight, the best way to make their crappy combat system better is to have them keep respawning over and over and over and over. The most humor I took from the game was laughing after thinking "this must be the last guy" to only have another 5 spawn after him.

The game gets a lot of leniency because it is so gorgeous. Great music, levels and overall production though. I'd say wait for $2.50 or less. And if I were to replay it again I'd probably go for the easiest level possible in the hopes that would mean less enemies spawn (not because they're ever difficult, just boring.)

Yeah, the respawning enemies are a bitch. Still, I played like one level a day and enjoyed it throughout. Might get frustrating if I would've played any more than that in one sitting.

Find out where it's saving its settings and edit the file. They're usually just a plain text file.

Sanctum 1 GB update, no description to me

And Ben There, Dan That! Update (277 MB)

I’ve hand-crafted a scrubbed-up SPECIAL EDITON version of the game.

FEATURES:
>> New swishy graphical enhancements throughout! Ben There, Dan That! is now exponentially more gorgeous and sexy to look at.
>> A stunning jazzy Sam and Max: Hit the Road homage-y soundtrack! Music that will caress your ears and grate infuriatingly as you fail to solve a puzzle.
>> More sound effects!
>> Some better signposting for the puzzles people didn’t get, or the objects they couldn’t see!
> The more-readable font from Time Gentlemen, Please!, enhancing brand synergy across the series.
>> Fixes some boring Windows 7 issue a few people were having.

SPECIAL BONUS MATERIAL:
EXCLUSIVE: A special 16-page eBook candidly telling the whole story of the game’s creation for the first time; “Lowering the Tone”
EXCLUSIVE: An extra special never-before-seen treat: a non-interactive video storybook presentation lifted from Dan and Bens’ diary entries, explaining the backstory as to exactly how Dan wound up dead in a jungle tied to a length of twine in the first place. Hear Dan and Ben speak for the first time in this fully voiced, and expertly illustrated six-and-a-half minute extravaganza.
EXCLUSIVE: All the ‘cut’ music that didn’t make it into the final game. Hear unloved and unused renditions of your favourite Ben There, Dan That! ditties.
EXCLUSIVE: Posters to print out and hang over your living room window, or to slap on your desktop.
EXCLUSIVE: Never-before-heard audio recording of Ben stomping around his flat cheering his own name, for the ending sequence. Truly there has never been a more honest depiction of the lengths indie developers have to go to for their art.
EXCLUSIVE: Dan and Ben ringtones – give your phone the Dan and Ben once-over with these exclusive musical ditties.

Updates to 2 games I have, good, good. I noticed Been there updated earlier and thought nothing of it, looks like I was sorely wrong. And giant update for Sanctum better make it work for PS3 lol

I love free updates.

But you're saying there are MANY updates for today? Surely you mean this can only herald a secret potato-hunting game for Episode 3's release.

What's with the Trine backlash? I remember everyone loving it when it came out (except for the broken last level, which they patched), and some people saying it was platformer GOTY and stuff. I really loved the game and would recommend it at any price really.

Over the last week or so.

My cap is a problem this month, and these random updates add up fast.

Not only is Trine a great physics based platformer, it has one of the best showcases of 3D I've seen in a game thus far (using 3D Vision).

Ben There Dan That is an excellent adventure game even without this update. One of the few REALLY FUNNY games I've played since the genre died. Became undead. Whatever.

Yeah those last couple of levels are so annoying, but the ones before that are fairly relaxing and beautiful.

I actually thought the last levels were pretty good as well, they were actually a bit challenging which made for a nice change.

Thanks folks. I'll try the demo. I've got no 3D and considering I bought the 15+ hour game Alpha Protocol for 2 bucks, I'll probably pass on this until it drops farther.

Universal Access can be found under System Preferences
I was fortunate enough that someone gave me a Frozenbyte bundle key yesterday since I missed out on that one, otherwise I may have bought this today. It looks beautiful though, plan on playing it soon.

A lot of the free 2 play games are rather large in size and I have a slower connection, so to save me a bit of time, which of the F2P games on steam, excluding Spiral Knights, are worth giving a shot? I'm sure a lot of this has been covered in the past, so I apologize.

That's a damn nice collection of games. Enjoy them, MX.

On a side note. I bought Deus Ex cdkey off ebay today for $21. Is it ok to share the link here ? saw people post cdkey sites earlier (thanks Clovingsteam, got Dead island of that site for $27)and this is the cheapest I have seen it yet.
