Just finished my third playthrough yesterday. Turns out the shotgun is super effective for impressing squadmates! My favorite game this year so far, it's a steal at $8.

Mine said I didn't fulfill the hardcore requirement either. I had to go to the rewards section of my profile page to claim my key. It was an annoying bug that nearly made me miss out on the deal but I was able to figure it out in time.
