And let an exclusive game get away from them? That would ensure no one ever buys a Nintendo console again, since the company can't (or won't) keep the titles that make its consoles worth owning exclusive. It would make people wait until the next Nintendo game gets released on PS4 or Xbox One; after all, if Bayonetta 2 (a game funded by Nintendo) managed to escape its hands, who's to say Pikmin 3 won't follow?

If people aren't interested in a Wii U that has Bayonetta 2 as a selling point, they would be even less interested in one without it.

Killing Floor fans, and fans of killing astonishing amounts of digital monsters more generally, rejoice! After months of waiting, Tripwire Interactive has announced that Killing Floor 2 will hit Steam Early Access on April 21.

Work is ongoing, but the Early Access release will be very much along the lines of what we saw in last week's PC Gamer Show hands-on, with four classes, three maps, and something in the neighborhood of 11 monsters. It will sell for $30/₤20/€27.

That's even ignoring the logistical nightmare that will probably occur if you want to move money everywhere. How would the publisher even track how well the game sells on a separate platform? You have to take into account your cut, the rival publisher's cut, the price of the actual software, and any other additional pieces of information, all of which can vary with sales or promotions.

That's the shit accountants live for, happens all the time in other fields of business and would be no big problem here.

I think you're misunderstanding the hypothetical situation. Because that would be part of the deal. It happens all the time elsewhere, for example with movies with different distributors per country and different content delivery systems. Sounds complicated but they've got that stuff figured out by now. Some of the other reasons for doing exclusives despite missing easy to get revenue I get but this isn't one of them.

Also yes its kind of a Souls exclusive. Demon's Soul exclusive. There are a couple of hints in the world that links it to DeS, and last I checked, DeS isn't on PC and xbox.

For those that don't venture outside of this thread, it seems the rumour that Arkham Knight will not have a retail release is partially true: WB will only be honouring pre-orders placed on or before March 30th:

I can't think of another good third person action game that plays similar to TR2013 in recent years. Maybe early last gen, when gears was hot and every game set out to imitate it. but now?

TR2013 was a lot more open than any uncharted game was, had a little of metroidvania in it even, and while it was certainly lacking in puzzles chambers that fans of the older games were fond of it still was very enjoyable in its own right. I'd argue that the Last of Us's more open ended nature is inspired by TR2013 making the uncharted games look like a series of jungle-y corridors.

but i digress. As far as third person action adventures campaigns go, there are less of them now than ever before, with the Order being the last one i could think of and it was a bit of a turd by all accounts.
