A...news regarding Phantom Pain

Kojima, you're really weird, I said this morning, I say it now.

I saw the news on gaming, dunno who she was, googled and...what the hell :\
Pls no be close minded. She's not even done that stuffs in half a decade or something! She's a surprisingly good actress, too. So there's that. I find her amusing. Although, yes, Kojima is a weirdo.
Remember, do not cheat while streaming.
Well, it's probably unintended from copy pasting community rules, but theoretically they can ban for it.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they just mean actual cheating IE hacking. Not "Skyrim -> console -> player_giveitem_gold 9999"
Instantly like the other guy.

"Instantly" - He was streaming for like 4 hours :p
The FAQs on streaming say that you can't stream anything that is generally considered "not safe for work", so technically speaking having a giant bare ass jiggling all over the place kinda falls into that category.

But it does call into question a lot of scenes in a lot of games. For example, there is nudity in The Wolf Among Us (episode 2 I believe) so could someone get banned for streaming that? Most likely so. Also other games like The Witcher. Even Wolfenstein TNO had a sex scene near the beginning.

They need an NSFW tag, really. And a system that actually remembers your age or some such. Incidentally it would also allow more of the mature games onto the platform, which would be a welcome change.

Barring games from a soon-to-be open platform because of NSFW material is ridiculous. Especially considering that it's just indies they don't allow with it.

Don't forget Ghost Stories, the anime so bad the Americans dubbed over it with one of the greatest dubs of all time.

Legit good stuff out there that I didn't see recommended: Last Exile, The Big O, Serial Experiments: Lain, Crest of the Stars/Banner of the Stars/etc, Evangelion (bonus points for watching the new movies once you're done), Planetes, Azumanga Daioh, Lupin III (there's lots of it, but the Miyazaki movie especially, also the Fujiko Mine tv show), Samurai Champloo, Trigun, Wolf's Rain, Vampire Hunter D.

Protip: Anything by Satoshi Kon and Chiaki J. Konaka.

Also, yes, Bebop is glorious, as is GITS.

I think I mentioned all the good ones.
The original Ghost Stories isn't actually bad, it's just very bland since it's simple scary stories for kids. Like a even less scary tales from the crypt. Stuff like Mars of Destruction is bad.

But I do agree thst US Ghost Stories is fantastic. As are the legit series you named.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
So what about Saints Row? You can run around as a S&M doll hitting people with a giant purple dildo.

The real answer here is that Valve implemented this system and didn't think about the repercussions exactly.

They can't (legally) allow things like this to be streamed because in the United States it puts them at legal liability for exposing minors to pornography.

Once again it highlights their extreme need to have an account-based age verification field. If your account isn't verified as being over 17, you can't stream "M" rated games, etc. Asking people not to then banning them for doing it seems a bit harsh. Hopefully the bans are temporary.

To be even more in line with the rules, if the content can't be "NSFW" then even M rated games shouldn't be allowable due to language and blood. Though of course that will get the slide because of reasons.

Sex makes people and guns kill people.
I'm sure you can see which is the greater evil.

At the very least, I expect them to throw up a hasty "Please enter your birthday to access this stream" for people streaming games that are rated M rather than fixing the real problem.

Yup. They really do need a proper age verification system. Wanting an open platform but then barring 99% of all nudity content, whether UGC or full games is nothing short of daft. Especially when you can buy several games with nudity in them by choosing a random year in a dropdown menu.

Personally, I'd say go ahead and tag everything that's M-rated and such as NSFW, and require age-verification for it. It really wouldn't be a huge deal for the consumers nor Valve themselves, and it lessens the need for their moderation to a large extent, and we know Valve loves not moderating!

Stfu... Fucking juniors! (I get to say that now that I'm not one anymore! ;>... Also nice raffle, <3 yu)

It's the ValveWay™ (atleast for all things Steam)
What about games having nudity by default?
Bingo. That's what most of us are wondering, and we have no actual answer to it either! Yay Valvo!

Lewd.gif btw.

I like the streaming thing a lot, but I think it'd be cool if it had hitbox/twitch integration, so my friends who aren't on Steam can watch. I know I can do that already, but I like how simple Steam does it.

Bleach was amazing up to the point that
they rescued Rukia.
After that, other than a few amazing moments sprinkled around, it was quite the drop off in quality.

Age verification isn't exactly an uncharted territory of web-based technologies either. Sure, most of it can be bypassed by a kid that knows what they're doing, but it would allow Valve to adhere to their legal obligation to "take appropriate measures" when dealing with this sort of thing.

The fact that they have absolutely no account-based age verification even today still blows my mind.

Bleach suffered from having too many underdeveloped characters that we were supposed to care about, and became worse than DBZ in terms of "this isn't even my final form"/"I have one last trick up my sleeve" nonsense. It was so promising up till the end of the Soul Society Arc.

What gif?

I was going to play South Park, now I'm unsure if to allow Streaming or not since it can be considered NSFW.

Really feels like an huge oversight by Valve.

Animu is the worst, and you should never watch anything. Whoever recommended you that is awful, and you should ignore everything they say. :D
I'm kind of kidding, and watch ping pong the animation. It's legit, and you can watch for free on youtubes.

Whoa steam broadcasting is some legit news, and didn't really expect that. Kind of busy, so just glanced over everything it entails. Will read up on it more later.

Right I've added them to my now ever growing list. I'll definitely check them out!

Don't take the risk dude. This broadcasting feature will need senators to vote for its awkward laws.

Streaming is fun, had a few peepz watch me play Binding of IsaacR. Haven't figured out yet how to chat when you are the streamer though. Anyone know?

go into the steam overlay and in the upperleft you can enter the stream chat

I just streamed THE SLAUGHTERING GROUNDS and Robert J Sullivan watched...

I mean, sometimes I get "Waiting for X's to start broadcast"

It happens to me too, I can't get any friend to watch my stuff.

Seems like it might happen if internet speed is too slow.
I have 1 Mbps upload and it only worked for a few seconds here and there. (lowest possible settings)

Only works with games (I assume it depends on steam overlay).
It doesn't broadcast idlemaster or idlemasters game windows, at least when desktop streaming isn't allowed.

Honestly, I just haven't had the chance to really watch anime. A friend pushed me to watch death note, which I loved, and I've been recommended things like bleach, but just never really known where to start with them
I recommend reading manga instead. You can read it at your pace and easily read like 3 chapters in 23 minutes (which is more or less the length of a single anime episode that is about 1 chapter from the manga)

Also read tokyo ghoul, shit is dope

Ho-oh ho, a Santachu appears.

sucks that normal mode in rising is so easy (i'm starting from scratch so it's not like i have all the upgrades or anything)

hard was too frustrating for me

i'm gonna play a bit more and see if it gets any challenging. if it doesn't then well, i gave the game its fair shot

What monsters would recommend Bleach? It's a tedious battle shounen manga. I would call it down right bad. If you want a few general recommendations by yours truly watch Ghost in the Shell [Cyberpunk, Matrix was influenced by this], Guardian of the Spirit [Fantasy in a chinese setting] and Black Lagoon (pure action and badassery, set in the east asian sea with modern pirates and mercenaries). But if you have favorite genres I can give you personalized ones.
i'm still trying to make it out in my head if i liked black lagoon or not

i really liked the setting and some of the character backstories and relationships but the action part i thought was pretty poor. i'm not above action series or anything, it's just that i find people shooting each other is rarely any fun to watch, specially when it's got no tension like in black lagoon. it's like revy just walking around and everyone near her just dies (btw revy has like the shittiest design ever)

anyways, i heard the second season is pretty terrible, so i'm holding off on watching that. i feel like i "got" black lagoon from the first season and don't really need much more.

anyways some recommended anime that i very much loved: cowboy bebop, paranoia agent (my favorite anime series ever), flcl, kill la kill, baccano. there's many more but just a few that popped in my head right now

You need to activate Beta access.
i have beta access already

pls

Yep this is really bad: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/steambroadcasting/discussions/0/624076027944902751/

Someone may be streaming by error. It really needs an option to disable autostreams.

Happy birthday !

I swear you manage to find the weirdest shit on Steam Community.
But come on the guy just wanted to play with his models.

However even in beta, the option to NOT STREAM should be easily done and not something forced if that is the case with the beta client.

I hope everyone is buying Korra. It may not live to see the end of January!

Is that what the contract actually says?
Also if that's the case they might be more generous come the winter sale.
Thats what they did with Deadpool. Freaking fire sale before it was taken off.

this is excellent advice

satoshi kon was amazing :/

Technically it's off by default.
It only starts streaming when you accept your friend to watch it. (It stays private)
If you want it public, you need to change settings.

I don't think they ban if you stream to a friend? Or even have time to check every stream.

Still, you may get spammed byt friends streaming requests. We definately need a disable or a anon-stream at all option. I mean if someone wants to not stream and don't wanna get bothered by any requests he may opt for that.
