The closest thing to compare Nioh to is Bloodborne/Dark Souls.

Errrr... No. Combat is nothing like SoulsBorne, Nioh's level design is very average (even Dark Souls 2 beats it), and you're going to spend a lot of time crafting items and hunting for loot-drops. Not an exaggeration to say it's a third person Diablo game with beat 'em up elements.

Nier X Ninja Gaiden

Fixed that for you

Seriously, everyone going "yeyyyyyy it looks/sounds like SoulsBorne", is doing what I did, and I've literally never been more disappointed in a game than I have been with Nioh. Go into it expecting the exploration, lore and combat of SoulsBorne, and you'll hate it. Go into it expecting Diablo mixed with Nier: Automata style combat, though, and I'm sure you'll love it.

(I have it on PS4.)

The Ki pulse stuff in Nioh never felt natural to me, the combat flow was hard for me to really grasp enough to feel satisfying playing it. I’m also bad at games mind you.

Nioh's combat is probably the best part about it from all the videos I've watched, way different than Platinum's gameplay style too tbh.

They relaunched like 3 different times didn't they? I remember you had to sign up through their site to play the game, then it came to steam. Then it disappeared and it was early access when it came back right? I remember hearing tons of negative things about it since it was super pay 2 win, otherwise you grind for a long time to get new robots.

Devs changed hands. Said they were going to launch an update for over a year. Said it was coming out in May, tons of silence during all of this. Today they announced it's closing.

Like I dunno I do feel bad since I liked the premise of Hawken a ton but this was under the horrible management.

Yeah, it's also different to SoulsBorne in that the combat feels like a chore. And the skill tree just seemed to be locking some things that should've been basic moves behind points, which annoyed.

I'm waiting for my bad memories of it to fade away before returning to it, but it says a lot that I'd reconsider playing any of the Dark Souls games (which I've completed) or Bloodborne (which I've platinum'd) before touching Nioh again.

This seems to be a common problem I heard about the game.
It starts off well enough and then just starts to drag as things go on.

It does become a chore. Was neat from the get go. I never did the DLC as I was gifted the "complete" edition (game + season pass) mainly due to putting the game down after I realized I wasn't having fun.

I finished act 1 of Divinity Original Sin 2 in around 30 hours. I haven't got the time to dive into the new Dishonored. Divinity could sustain and occupy me until Wolfenstein comes out.

My cousin's friend who's uncle's half-sister works at Sony said Bloodborne is coming to PC next year. Persona 5 is coming too.

There's Eitr, which may theoretically come out sometime this decade.

Yeah, I've heard of Eitr, but it's been a while I thought it's already out.

What the hell , no evil within 2 spotlight? What is wrong with you OP?

OP don't make recommendations, the community do.

If you think the game deserves to be highlighted in the OP, send a PM and explain why.

I believe in your cousin's friend who's uncle's half-sister works at Sony.

I agree that the cousin's friend seems honest, but she's also a bit naive and tends to trust her prone-to-boasting uncle a bit too much, who I don't even think actually stayed in touch with his half-sister for the last five years.

I can't believe I'm going to buy Okami again - PS2, Wii, PS3, PC. And I've never finished it. That rivals the number of times I bought KOTOR before finally finishing it (on iPad!)

Okami getting all these chances when no one even plays the damn thing. Tsk tsk

I just finished my playthrough of Shadowrun Dragonfall. What a great game. I think it might be one of the best written RPGs I've ever played. I just want to start Hong Kong immediately.

I made an Ork lady in both and it's so weird going from the Dragonfall orks who are as wide as they are tall, to the Hong Kong orks who are tall but almost as slight as elves. I feel like there should've been a middle ground here somewhere, but having not seen anything of Shadowrun outside of the games, I have no idea what that should've looked like, only that I don't think either of the games looks nailed it.

Okami was great the first time I played it but I don't wanna put in another 50 hours into that.

But God Hand, that's a game I'd replay. I hope that one day we as a society can get to a point where it can be playable in a way that's not on the PS2 or emulation of one.

I never knew that Okami is such a long game. If it were a RPG it would make sense. But it's not.

clearly I am an idiot because all this time I assumed Grim Dawn had no mods because it didnt have Steamworks. It does have mods, like any of such genre would on PC, including classes, including a Necromancer, not unlike the one in the official expansion, which would have probably solved my problem with not liking the classes in the base game.

Much like it happened with Torchlight 2 and I fixed with mods... fuck my life.

There's like.. an entire official sub forum dedicated to mods and programs and things players have made for the game. You can *Gasp* basically cheat as well

It helps for like trying out the shit loads of class combinations/item set/gear groups that people got crazy with (Although I never did that, although I did use it to reset my constellations a lot because that shit got so expensive)

Most people I read about just used it to save their Hardcore characters from being dead because they lagged out being online or their power went out

There's some crazy classes people made that they put into the game as well because they felt like they needed something else too

Heads-up, the Steam major design and feature update has to be REALLY close. There was some HUGE changes to the developer inner workings for Steam in the last couple days, they finally updated some things, added some new features, and changed the whole look of it to a new design. And this change was done somewhere in the last 48 hours as that was the last time I had checked the inner developer store pages for Steam before just now.

I can't say much more without breaking contract, but I would guess the major Steam Store update is really close.

Not sure if it's a new change, but I noticed that store pages are quite different now. The video and screenshot panel is now at the top, covering most of the browser screen. The game's banner is now moved a bit down instead.

There was some changes when they updated the review section a couple weeks ago, but there's supposed to be a huge overhaul for Steam before the year is up Valve announced back in Spring. But I can vouch that the Developer pages for Steam got several new features and a visual overhaul in the last 48 hours, so I imagine the big Steam Store design and feature update must be close.

I can't mention most of the updates unfortunately, but one I can mention is developers can now set custom sales for review whenever they want, something most developers could not do previously (previously you'd have to be big or contacted by Steam themselves to do a special sale, otherwise just events or Monday Special Weeklys).
