Blue Reflection just got a patch that fixed all of the gamebreaking bugs, which i think makes it the third KT game on steam to recieve a patch.
They also increased the resolution of the startup logos and tutorial screenshots, though they're filled with compression artifacts:
http://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img924/6913/eRIfII.png

Most other 2D assets were already fine resolution wise (though according to users in the community hub, they also have compression artifacts) except for 2D backgrounds, which are low resolution like the tutorial screenshots were before the patch:

Don't know yet if the 2D backgrounds resolution was increased in this patch like the tutorial screenshots though, waiting for confirmation on this from other users (I don't have the game...yet).

Other than this, shadows issues weren't fixed, and neither was the FMV's compression.
According to SteamDB, they're working on further patches though (version 1.02).

Whenever I see my Steam inventory, I see the cards from the summer sale of 2013 which I wanted to hoard in the hope of making big Steam bux. This plan hasn't come to fruition yet...

When it comes to Nioh, I'm on whatever team hated the pulse mechanic. It never had any flow to it. Its clear inspiration is being a melee version of the timed reloads in Gears of War, but in GoW, it added depth instead of feeling like dead weight.

The loot and crafting was cumbersome.

I tried to like the game a lot, and occasionally did, but ultimately had to admit that it was more of a chore than anything else. I'd like to give it another go at a discount, so a good port would be nice.

I feel like I should buy it just to support the idea of patching games in KTs heads.

Durante, while you're here, could I ask you about G-Sync?
Kaldaien (and his tools) state that for G-Sync to work the game has to be setup in a specific way (no MSAA, specific framebuffer setup and presentation mode). When I brought this up in the G-Sync thread, people would not believe me, saying they trust NVIDIA's indicator over some third party coder.

What's the deal here? Who is right here?

Look at 999 for example:

yTK7tid.jpg

NVIDIA driver states G-Sync is enabled, but Kaldaien tools say it's unsupported. Only way I was able to have it enabled according to SpecialK was going Exclusive Fullscreen, enabling VSync in the game config and disabling MSAA. Despite having both Fullscreen and Windowed G-Sync modes enabled in NVIDIA CPL.

Not really an issue with 999, obviously, but it can be an issue in other games if the above requirements are true.

Here's some recent Kaldainen's post wrt to this.

I'd find it extremely surprising if e.g. having MSAA enabled had any effect on G-sync working. That would point to a fundamental flaw in its implementation (or the interfaces provided by the compositor).

I did have someone specifically test G-sync with Trails of Cold Steel, and it works in borderless windowed mode, but in that game I don't use an MSAA backbuffer (it is resolved before putting it there).

Also the whole point about resampling latency doesn't make any sense. Resolving a MSAA rendertarget on a modern GPU literally takes a few microseconds.

Hm, anyone else got a random password reset mail from Uplay? It's legit. However, I use a unique password AND Google Authenticator on my phone. Seems like a system glitch but idk...

I received one too. Thought someone was trying to hack my account lol. I don't have Google Authenticator though.

Finished Figment, fantastic little game and great graphics, story, writing and original songs and music. The lite ARPG mechanics are basic and a little inexact, easy to get stuck on things, but there is no real difficulty in the game. There are some issues with the audio quality though, the main character and main villain are the worst effected, the audio levels change all the time and obviously clip. A couple of the other minor characters are almost inaudible as well.

Spider Alert: One of the bosses is a spider that sings a fantastic song about crawling over your skin at night, you have been warned!

do I need to explain why Evil Within 2 should be on spotlight? LOL

The spotlight section is community-sourced rather than just a general list of notable games releasing throughout the month. Nobody provided a puff paragraph for TEW2, so it wasn't included. Simple as that.

No, you need to write the blurb and then send it to him in a PM.
Evil Within 2
Detective Sebastian Castellanos has lost everything, including his daughter, Lily. To save her, he must descend into the nightmarish world of STEM. So he enrolls in college and starts a course in Physics, quickly beginning to dread the amount of work it takes. Will our hero make it through the mid-terms? Horrifying tests emerge from every corner, and he must rely on his wits to survive. For his one chance at redemption, the only way out is in.

That's fine, but like...how about a blurb that tells us why we should give it the time of day in a month filled with amazing releases? Like, game features, pedigree, improvements over the original, etc. Sell it, goddamnit.

I'm starting Spooktober with Silent Hill but am thinking I should really try to get in The Evil Within as well. Probably want to play Fatal Frame 3 next though and it's really hard to switch to horror games this year with everything that's come out recently.

I don't really need a tag, but I figured I'd get one to make people jealous. Is it working?

Obsidian would like to know they should approach making DLC for Pillars of Eternity 2, including not making any at all. They also want people to share this survey with their friends. They also included the wrong URL for it in their email; it has a 2 on the end instead of a 1.

Not many games that feature the horror that are STEM courses.

If they are not making any at all, I would be pissed as a backer. They better give me some nice expansions if they already asked money for it.

Expansions or DLC?

Yes, there is a difference.

There's like.. an entire official sub forum dedicated to mods and programs and things players have made for the game. You can *Gasp* basically cheat as well

It helps for like trying out the shit loads of class combinations/item set/gear groups that people got crazy with (Although I never did that, although I did use it to reset my constellations a lot because that shit got so expensive)

Most people I read about just used it to save their Hardcore characters from being dead because they lagged out being online or their power went out

There's some crazy classes people made that they put into the game as well because they felt like they needed something else too

installed the Dail mod which is supposed to compile all the shit u want, including a bunch of new classes... doesnt seem to work.

When I lvl up, I still get the 6 vanilla classes to choose from. Halp?

Have to disagree with the pulse mechanic, added an awesome risk reward mechanic right in the heat of battle. Getting it right meant keeping with the flow and rhythm of the combat.

It’s a long game so it can be a bit of a ‘chore’ to play.

Not sure if it's a new change, but I noticed that store pages are quite different now. The video and screenshot panel is now at the top, covering most of the browser screen. The game's banner is now moved a bit down instead.

I'm pretty sure that's an ES feature. Maybe you accidentally clicked the expand/contract button that's on top-right corner of the video/screenshot panel.

I never knew that Okami is such a long game. If it were a RPG it would make sense. But it's not.

Not only is it fairly long, but (from what I can remember), there are a couple points where it really does feel like it's ramping up to be the big finale of the game, and then nope, you're only a fraction of the way in.

It's great. The whole plot is that you get summoned to beat this big bad that got resurrected, and everything builds up to that big fight. You're like 10-15 hours in, beat him in an epic final boss-like fight, and bam, you're not even halfway through the game.

With how zealous they were about delivering all the Kickstarter campaign promises in the first game, even if it probably hurt the game overall, I can't imagine this being an issue. The poll is about all their games going forward, not just Deadfire.

Battle Chasers is out, 4gigs, seems to be doing well on the sellers too (kinda surprisingly, not from quality, but from lack of exposure)
