Wow, that PDP "apology" thread is a Trainwreck.

Not to drag in in here, but I saw a paid journalist say "Leslie Nielson was yesterday, PDP took his place... his recent videos show him in a different light, he's not bad blah blah". That dude get's paid by a huge daily newspaper here in Austria and I still can't gelieve it.

I have found a counter-example.
The real issue for me is that he paid random strangers to do stupid stuff, which means he really engaged in a system which is utterly disgusting. A long time before that website which PDP used even existed, there were people paying hobbos to fight each other and make a movie out of it, not only for their own fun, but also to sell the videos on the Internet. What he did is akin to that imo: pay people to appear in a video while doing reprehensible stuff, and then monetize the video. 😷💩 A week ago, there was in the French news the story of a young guy in his 18 - 20 years who was paying kids to fight each other for his own fun. This was known after a kid got seriously injured. Well, if you are someone as famous as PDP, you ought not to "normalize" this kind of behavior.

Junior = Recently registered = more likely to be younger. All I'm saying. It's obviously not true for every junior, but I'm pretty convinced there is a correlation even without looking at the data.

everyone starts as a junior, so I never understood this "junior = bad" mentality that some people use. You have fucking DIRE full member posters that do nothing but shit on everything and everyone, are they good because they have the member tag?

I agree with this and there is people that have the junior tag and have been around for months and in cases a year or two but they dont post much to reach the member tag. Overall its kinda tired just to judge people by the tag they have from junior member to member. There is trashy users in both areas.

No. Each day everyone gets 1x free thing. Winner of the day get that as well as 1x free dlc. At the end of the whole event, the overall winning game will have free dlc released (I assume more for the winning team but I think it was for everyone last year)

MKX port had some issues with patches/updates and not being up to date, sure. But it in my experience everything was smooth in terms of gameplay/settings/performance from the start. Thankfully QLOC somehow was tapped and brought over the GGPO netcode from XL and we finally got the missing DLC. Either way, that was a good day.

Yep, the alpha (http://store.steampowered.com/app/593590/) has a different ID/store page than the game itself, it seems (http://store.steampowered.com/app/457140).
Definitely wasn't that way for me. Abysmal performance, all video had an absurdly low gamma setting, missing textures, letterboxing issues, corruptions, networkplay was broken, installation was broken etc etc
QLOC definitely saved the game in my view.
I see it now, they really hid the alpha part pretty well...It is purchasable and playable (I guess).

Yeah, I don't think the alpha app was supposed to get a store page. The sub that's being sold actually has the other app and now has a release state override.

Did you have the character select screen running at 5 frames bug?
The game itself actually ran fine for me from day 1 but the character select screen was completely unusable lol.

Damn, free DLC and Sega games, cheap Batman: Arkham Knight, pretty good pick-your-own bundle on Bundle Stars, more Humble Freedom games. Plus I got goddamn H&R Block Deluxe on sale with Far Cry Primal at Newegg (???).

Yeah, the rollout for the initial install was a clusterfuck cause they tried to be new/innovative with the download process to allow you to get into training mode before the download was finished.
Other than that, the only problem I ever had was that at some point one of the HVS updates corrupted my save file. I was pissed, but it wasn't anything cheat engine couldn't help me fix relatively quickly.
Netcode has been shit in NRS games forever. It was the same everywhere, in MKX and it's why PC owners were pissed that MKXL was seemingly only ever going to be released on consoles (in addition to missing KP2).
Either way, glad yours works now.
Now that you mention it, I do remember lag on the character select screen, but it wasn't anything major, mostly an annoyance; as you said, once you got into the match everything ran fine.

Der Standard. And they have a feature where they take controversial figures and portray them in a very "both sides"-ish way. So I wouldn't really take it seriously, it's pretty much an OP-ed. Not that the paper itself has been very professional in the last few years. Generally, print in Austria is very much dead, as far as great journalism is concerned. But maybe I'm just being grumpy.
Today I learned what TIL stands for
Nvidia GTX 960 - admittedly though this was at launch to about 4 weeks after, at which point I gave up till they announced the MKXL release and but the beta out, which was and remains flawless both in single player and online. Exceptional work from QLOC. I think I'd still be cautious of WB games coming out at launch but I'd happy to get involved when they demonstrate good performance (generally good practice anyway)/
Amusingly, I'm quite interested in Marvel Vs Capcom 3 (the remastered one). It lists both a March release date, but has also accidentally left the original release date of December 6th, which curiously isn't happening on all but one platform. Regardless that's looking good, and Tekken 7 is shaping up nicely, so a good time for fighting games
