Steam hacked: passwords leaked (debunked)

Thanks, will do that now. Hopefully steam communicate with those affected. Oh and if you're not using the Steam app for 2FA, this is a good time to do so.

Joke's on the hackers when they connect to my account to see they can only play vampire survivor

The title should be changed as it's not Steam itself. And we know consoles warriors can't read past the thread title.

Anyway with the 2FA they can't do shit.

5 grand for all 89mio passwords? lol. They cause an inconvenience for a ton of people, force every company to invest thousands of dollars in security stuff, but could easily make more money doing a regular job, in IT, legal? Some criminals are retarted.

Sounds like someone is trying to sell bullshit data on the dark web. I'm shocked
Probably mining existing leaks and reusing them against other platforms.

Would still be prudent to use 2FA and something like Bitwarden for password protection.

Yep. That's internet 101 stuff these days with just about any account. Steam Guard was way ahead of the curve.

If this comes out as being true then i don't wanna see any PC users nor steam users ever make fun of sony, microsoft, or nintendo being hacked ever again. And if steam was hacked then this a blackmark on gabe and the people who worship the ground he puts his feet on.

Passwords in clear text? That would be major, but source seems sketchy at the moment.

Yes, someone is about to pay for my account and they will play the greatest game ever created by people who apparently had the power of a sky fairy coursing through their veins. "Shadowgate".

Have fun whoever you are and you're quite welcome.

Damn. I just went through someone/people/bots trying to get into my Microsoft account. Guess I will have to update my Steam account too.

I went to change my PW on the steam Android app, the app said that it sent a code to the app and to confirm it via the app that I am already in?

eh even if it's fake or not i'll change my password just in case. I luckily have an email auth on mine, but better safe than sorry

umm seems like that article isn't completely truthful.

Because no one these days confirms sources like a real journalist would it seems.
