Digital card games rarely capture the magic of real ones, to me. Hearthstone is the exception. The game succeeds in two places for me. Its depth despite its relative simplicity, and the execution of the multiplayer. Restricting the chat and making you essentially just a name cuts out all of that "lol newb" shit that turns people off.

Play the game. Win or lose. Next one. My only complaint was that I was pretty successful early on, so I found myself in a higher bracket where the lack of a robust deck can be felt. It's not impossible on a starter deck, but I was living or dying on the next draw. It became decidedly less fun.

Yeah, there are tons more cards than I realized when I started watching some clips on youtube.

I must be exception to the rule because i have Hearthstone on PC and on my tablet but i am playing it rarely. I still think that Hearthstone is P2W and i don't like that.

All the people I've seen give impressions after actually figuring out how to play the game have loved it.

That's what I've read too. It looks pretty nostalgic too, so that's a bonus. I'm just trying to decide if it's too hard for me to commit the time.

It's not as if the game will get much cheaper than this.

The game itself is fairly good, though it can be unforgiving. Controls really well (you might need to remap the button on the gamepad though) and it doesn't has many cheap deaths, for the most part is all depends on the player.

Not a game I would recommend for those not looking for a challenge.

I play with a keyboard, is a controller pretty necessary for this game? It not having many cheap deaths is also a plus for me.

It's not about the money, it's about the time commitment. I pretty much go for all achievements, so I'm trying to see if the game is worth that or not.

The ps3 came in a few hours ago. I'm starting its life with infamous. In a way I'm pretty glad that ps3 is lastgen. The exclusives are finally cheap enough to pick up en masse.

It is an awesome gaming system. Had a lot of fun with the times of my cousins. Uncharted Trilogy, Killzone so many more.

I especially loved Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2+3. Great games really!
Ungh, Killzone 3 was such a baller ride. Damn, I played through it two times but just thinking about it, makes me wanna replay it.

No, they are not porn games. You can patch in some pornish scenes into the steam version but there is actual story.
Don't know whether you watch anime or not but it is best comparable to those I'd say. Light hearted, comedic romance simulator.

Can't recall playing with the keyboard, so I can't comment how well it controls.

I would say that getting all achievements is pretty damn though, it involves beating the game from start to finish while playing the hard versions of each level with a limited amount of lives if I recall.

Devs figured out that being part of a bundle during the steam sales is potentially leaving a lot of money in the table, makes more business sense to wait until the sales are done before being part of a bundle.

And today I learned my desktop's resolution is now significantly lower than some laptops.

Well, given the issues I'm having with getting some games to look good, maybe you're lucky?

I'm mostly just curious how people generally handle this stuff. I would think a lot of people have resolution issues like this, I'm surprised there isn't a half decent solution (maybe there is and I just don't know about it, which is why I'm asking).

Switching resolution in game seems janky, switching resolution before you boot seems janky... the 'obvious' solution to me would be some sort of wrapper app like BorderlessWindows that is smart enough to switch resolution on the fly if you switch to the gaming window. Or something. I don't know. Then again, most games seem to crash if you switch out of them without being in windowed mode, which is absolutely ridiculous to me in 2015... that seems like a problem that should have been solved 10-15 years ago.

I'm really just wondering how people deal with this sort of thing, because Wasteland 2 is unplayable for me at my resolution and I haven't found a truly feasible workaround that isn't super annoying.

One of the big problems with PC gaming is UI scaling isn't decoupled from resolution. Especially as we move into 4K territory, we will have problems with poorly scaling UIs.

That's a shame.

I'd take a noir murder mystery over "Fighting Within Ourselves and Let's All Be Dicks 2: Electric Boogaloo" any day of the week.

Seriously, it get's old quick when you pull that stuff twice. Thankfully TWD S2 is a lot shorter than the first game, otherwise it would feel like a drag.

So the Dishonored Daud DLCs, these things are really fun. Sure, the story seems pretty contrived and they reuse a couple of areas from the main campaign, but it's great to return to both this world and to this style of play.

Nothing beats sending an assassin/jedi warrior to clear out a room so that you can pick up some whale meat to eat and a perfume bottle to help pay for favors in the near future.
