I'm hoping there's a few more in there hiding out that just aren't featured in that sale.
Steam never seemed to be very interested in promoting VN, they would basically outright reject most of them before greenlight.
I doubt we'll ever get a VN focused sales.

Is there still no way to just start with all the powers yet?
If I grab it I might end up seeing if I can use Cheat Engine or something to have it all from the get go.

I think ZUN would have to approve which seems to be against what he wants Touhou to be although he is helping publish fangames on PS systems now for some reason so maybe that'll change soon?

Well the "anime" sale is just a sale of stuff with an anime-like graphical style. Anime is a pretty broad term, you can choose to limit it to only japanese animation, and for the most part that's the correct usage, but it simply refers to animated drawing, which technically includes all cartoons and such. Regardless, it's a sale, with a lot of stuff, so eh. It's like during the Halloween sale where there was a bunch of very debatable "scary" games and so on.
A good quarter or so of the games shown on the image aren't made in Japan, which is why it's amusing Korra keeps getting singled out by the Gatekeepers of Anime.

not that bad, although most discounts were nothing to write home about. I still don't remember it, though, very strange, maybe I was not on steam during that time.

I've come to the conclusion that I am going to have to start using the ignore function. I don't like to do that as it really fucks up the flow of a conversation in a thread. It's nothing personal though, I don't even know who the posters are since I skim past those posts as best I can and don't even look at their username. It's really getting on my nerves though and I've only been back for a few days after a 6+ month absence, partly due to crap like this. I would complain to a Mod but they seem to take a very laissez faire attitude to this thread especially now it's in Community. I know I'm not the only SteamGAFer who feels like this :/.
Having had a quick look, there's apparently a cheat code that unlocks all the powers from the start, though I've no idea if it's real or not.
Press Left Trigger, Left Bumper, Left Joystick, Right Trigger, Right Bumper and Right Joystick at the same time.

Still need to watch Seasons 2 and 3 of Korra. Haven't made the time for it yet. I watched Season 1 a looooong time ago, even though I remember the basic story of it.
Good luck with watching season 2, it's a real mess. Season 3 and 4 are much better though.
Yeah. Especially it seems like this past week has been really dominated by waifu and porn game nonsense (yes, yes, I know before you lecture me it's not just a porn game). I questioned why the thread got moved to Community early on but can see why now.

Weekend sales come and go, even when themed, no one recalls them.
I wonder how would boards look if everybody would be this intolerant. Don't like sports games? Add all people that discuss them to ignore list. Don't like movie stars discussions, the same, etc. At the end, I think you would have nice conversation with such a reasonable and having great taste person as yourself exclusively, no? (><)
People are different, and like different things and like to talk about it, that's how it is, accepting that is a big part of life, you know.

I have a problem with the NSFW gifs that are frequently used here too. There was literally a gif of someone sticking their face into someone else's asshole posted for a giveaway.

As if season 1 was any better, Korra for me represents the general gripe against female leads and it's a very good example at that because it's the sequel to a male lead show. There was romance in the first show but they weren't so in your face about it, "no but have you felt her rejection yet? we think not! have some more mopey scenes". Not just that but the frequency of it, with Aang you'd get romantic developments at least with 2 episodes apart and very rarely was the sole focus of the episode, with Kora you get episode after episode of "mah feelings".
Make a good strong lead and it shall be so regardless of gender.

This isn't the first time I've felt like the anime voices got louder and more annoying and some of the other non-anime voices started quieting down and going elsewhere for their entertainment. :|
I feel like the balance has shifted increasingly towards anime to the point where it seems like this is more AnimeGamesGAF than SteamGAF, and any discussion on other topics that are not anime is far less likely to gain any traction.

Also, it seems like Steam's reset my downloads and now forces them to pause when I boot up a game again. And all the stuff I shared appears to be gone. ._. idfk what Steam is doing. This is why I only play Destiny these days.
If people were talking about Madden in a sports thread, or general game thread, sure, that's kosher. If people were talking about Madden 15 for pages in the Steam thread, and talking all about which linebacker is the best girl and posting sexy locker room gifs, I might consider it.

I don't have a problem with people liking things that I have no interest in. Not at all. Quite the opposite in fact. The right of the individual to self determination is sacred to me.
I do have a problem however with off topic spam shitting up the thread. I feel the same way about other off topic discussions e.g. 3DS, Wii U, PS3 and other consoles/games, movies, drinks and so on.
That is what I object to. Do anime GAF not have their own thread for such discussion?
I don't have that problem since I am at home but I have gifs turned off as I have all images turned off by default [if I am signed in]. You might like to consider doing that? I don't see why you should have to; the poster posting those gifs should show more restraint and consideration frankly but I would not hold your breath.

For the downloads: while in the client go to settings, choose the downloads tab and there will be a drop down option to allow/block background downloads while in game.
As for Family Sharing I've never tried it before, mainly because I've heard this type of things happens semi-often.

Taking about Anime VN games being released on steam is more anime talk than steam talk? should we ignore the anime games that are being released just because you don't like them?
Some of us like anime, and like VN so we get excited when a new VN game comes to steam and we discuss it. Fortunately for us it seems more and more VN and anime games are making its way to steam
The same thing happens with other genres, for instance when a new fighting game gets announced or released on steam and people start talking about arcade sticks and shit, or when Dark Souls 2 got announced/released the thread was basically page after page of Dark Souls 2.
I guess for people who don't like that kind of games it must have been bad when the thread gravitated around those games or genres, but for some reason it seems people only complain when we talk about VN games.
/rant.
Do you have Doom 3 BFG? That one contains both Doom 1 and 2. I've tried a few levels of the original on that and it seems to run/play pretty well.
