Ah, that's a shame - I'd hoped to see Dishonored 2 higher. Still, at least it's placed in the top 10.
Agreed. One of my favourites of the year, and it's getting solid support after a rocky launch.

I saw a video, Game Maker's Toolkit possibly, that broke TT2 down. It turns out that you have all your abilities the whole game but haven't learned the application, and once you know you can sequence break all over the place. Is Toki Tori 2 worth playing? Always avoided it because of the art style but the description of learning to use the same abilities in new ways sounds interesting.
How's the number of Steam GOTY voters this year compared to the previous one(s)?
I tried to get into the first dishonored but something about its gameplay just felt off.

Think jshackles said it was 161 this year? 184 last year.
We had 161 entrants this year. Last year we had 184.
Same. I wanna say it was because of the stealth focus, but two of my favorite games of the last two years were MGSV and Hitman so who knows. I wanna take another crack at it one of these days though.I tried to get into the first dishonored but something about its gameplay just felt off.

So it's in decline..

I'll keep that in mind, thanks. Time to embrace my inner dark side and KILL EVERYONE.Give it a try as a stealth/action game. That's when I really fell in love. Just blinking around and eluding guards just didn't quite do it for me either.
This year was flippin' great for games thoughI feel like it's more to do with a rather weak year for games.

Exactly, but real talk I felt the year was weak for my personal tastes at the least.Every year without Dino Crisis is a weak year.

Deus Ex at 8 supports the theory that this year was amazing for games
if Overwatch was on Steam I'd have made it #1
On the flip side, last year there were 131 games on the ballot. This year we had 151 represented.
It's what happens when you actually release the results in mid-January. No time for last-minute entries.
So many good games I couldn't even accurately make a top 5.There are some really great games that released this year - I almost wanted to a Top 20 reveal (instead of a Top 10) simply because there are so many great games that made their way to the top of the list.
Getting into the thick of it now.. I would have guessed The Witness to end up higher.
I expected the witness to be lower actually. Game wasn't talked about much in the thread.

Hm, i wasn't the only one who voted for SPAZ 2, i wasn't expecting that
