OBS. Google it, install it, love it

As someone above already mentioned use OBS. It's free and twitch has instructions on how to setup the software on their website. I've only streamed a couple of times but that's what I used.

Edit: links to OBS website and the twitch guide.

https://obsproject.com/

http://help.twitch.tv/customer/portal/articles/1262922-open-broadcaster-software

Thanks everyone! :) Oh wow that seems easy enough  I installed the forked branch with AMD VCE support, lets see how it goes when I next play DW8! I left all the settings at auto optimization for now and set the stream-size to 720p, hopefully my internet can handle this.

So Shadownet mentioned this to me last night, but what are these Russian dealers selling Steam keys? Where are they getting them from? Is the Steam Russian store just cheaper? Why isn't everyone buying from Russians? Are there any downsides?

And lol at the guy who said he'd be a Panda because he's lazy during the interview. I am seriously having a hard time thinking if a worse answer that isn't totally crazy. Gave me a good laugh.

Here's some old stuff. Forgot to add the Raffle rules, but well, old games so doubt there's much interest to begin with.

Some stuff is cheaper on the russian steam store. There's a russian on GAF who accepts TF2 keys for games and sends you the cd key or something.

I just finished Typing of the Dead: Overkill my good people:

I posted my impression/review on Steam in case any of you would like to Rate up or down but I'll also just put it here:

Before I start, these are just my impressions from a very Casual point of view. I had no interest in seeking any sort of challenge as this is the perfect game to play in short bursts after a long tiresome day. Each act is rather short so it won’t take you much time to complete meaning that, if you just ended a long, busy day, if you are dead tired or just want a mindless game without the need to focus a lot on Story elements or harsh gameplay mechanics, this game might be just what you need.

In Typing of the Dead you play in a Story where two characters who appear to have nothing in common must join forces to defeat a biggest problem than their own personality: Papa Caesar. Responsible (or is it…?) for the outbreak filled with Zombies from all sorts of sizes and horrible habits and for the murder (or maybe not…?) of one of character’s father death, you must play through 9 exciting Acts coming to you in a cheap Hollywood horror movie form. The acting is one of the worst you can expect, but, in a good way. Same goes for the jokes that are so bad that they end up being quite funny due the excessive amount of randomness they represent.

Your weapon can be two: Either your own Keyboard, where typing is key as you need to write as fast as possible to engage in combos, avoid damage and score even more points or your mouse to point and shoot. What you type, however is up to you. Whether you are playing the base or not there’s a lot to choose from when it comes to the vocabulary. There are 5 DLCs (I own 4 of them) which can focus more on a certain theme when it comes to what you type. While I found it funny it was a challenge for me since not only I found out I’m incredible slow at typing but also, English is not my native language. I feel this game can improve your typing skills but when it comes to improve your language I’m not so sure. Unless you are interested in the most random sort of things to call at someone.

Visuals are decent enough. They are not modern visuals by any means but this game should not be played for its visuals either way. The sound however, felt a bit of a letdown. Every time I had to use some sort of QTE to kill a bigger enemy (in both modes) the sound/music would go lower and some narration as well other sound effects would get completely silenced for a short period of time. I don’t know if the Developers are aware of this or if they intend to solve this issue.

Aside of the two different modes you can play there are also 3 Mini-games: “Victim Support”, “Stayin’ Alive” and “Money Shot II”. These can be fun as something to play between longer/deep games in order to fill those dead times. Finally, there is also Collectibles in this game. You can collect from Comic Book pages to Soundtracks to play in your Jukebox, Concept Art and also 3D Models from the characters and enemies. As in mostly games they are completely optional. In the end, I had a pleasant time with this game and I would recommend it for the reasons I wrote above. The duo of bad horror and comedy are mixed well enough to keep you entertained for some time.

:)

It works. But include the bracketurl.../urlbracket stuff in the link you sent, assuming you had "Automatically parse links in text" turned on when you sent the register PM to ModBot.

I've tried it every way I can think of, including what you suggested, and it still won't nuke. Oh well.

One more quick question about OBS! I set up a preview test stream of my Steam window just for fun and saw that the number at the bottom right fluctuated between 300-400kb/s, is that the actual network throughput that would get send to the Twitch servers? I ask because my internet has 95kb/s upload max which I know isn't much but as far as my friends go they said my PS4 streamed just fine :/

Russian store is significantly cheaper, ~40-70%. But you can't buy yourself, you have to find/know a trustworthy trader first. Payment is keys or paypal. This can be deterring to some.
But not all games can be bought from there. Some games - usually AAA games - have regionlocked keys. So you cannot activate keys bought from the russian store elsewhere.
If you manage to get your games from there though.... thanks mother Russia!

Well, time to play Oprah and give away some of my favorite things!

Please, only enter for these if you actually plan on playing these. Especially Moonbase Commander! If you win that, we have to play a match!

Well, not really, but it'd be nice ;)

Mighty fine games you got there! Thanks.
Gonna try FTL and RoR.

Did they laugh? If not, they probably thought you were being a smartass, because I'm still snickering everytime I think if it, lol.

So no downsides except potential scammers and the region lock thing? Is the regionlock for all games?

Edit: So, just some games are region locked? Wow, at 40-70% off, who needs Steam sales? That's pretty awesome. I think I might try to get in on it.

Speaking of which, WHY are Steam games cheaper in Russia? Is Valve just scared of them? Lol

Yes, pretty much. And regionlock is for every game different, there are region free version (ROW), but for everything else you have to look into ... steamdb, I guess.

Im going to go beat up ventara for taking my idea  ill buy you something this weekend, i should have about $15-20 to spare :)

We'll talk about it tonight. I still have to buy nbnt something for all his generosity. :)

Yeah theres really no downside to it as long as you find a reliable dealer and make sure that its region free. I dealt with 3 people so far and they have been amazing. Fast, and efficient. One of them even gave me free keys for being such a great customer.

I miss SteamGAF at work :(

Why the heck did I just get another CSGO card drop when my badge is maxed and I have all my drops?

Could be. Whatever it was it says I'm back to having no drops.

If CSGO is like TF2, which I honestly have no idea if it is or not, you get more cards when you spend a certain amount of money on the in-game shop.

I'll have to look into buying keys off of people then. Sounds like I'd save a ton of money in the long run.

We'll be waiting for you, buddy. Some of us never leave...

Edit: And CSGO wasn't like that before, so that's why I was confused.

My backlog is huge, I usually write a review for my personal blog of the games I finish.
My work is taking too much of my time to play a game and therefore write a review but I still do it.

I love adventure and point and click games, so should I take the bullet on the Sherlock Holmes games from this week's Humble Weekly Bundle? What are your impressions so far?

New Vegas isn't crashing anymore. It's nice to do those slow "dungeon" crawls through malls and casinos again - it's been so long since I played Fallout 3.

The world map looks tiny though, but if it is densely populated, then I guess that's fine.

Thanks, I'm still in the process of improving my writing so these tend to help. I'm always open to feedback to improve my English vocabulary but so far GAF has been kind and not too harsh on my writing. ;)

New Vegas isn't crashing anymore.

Did you make something to avoid crashing in New Vegas? Just curious as I might start this one soon.

Preordered Sacred 3 from gamefly with the 20% off coupon on top of their 25% off offer, since it seemed like a good enough incentive to me. Hopefully the game won't disappoint.

Same haha. My Valiant Hearts review today was my first review ever, and I noticed a few errors from when I pasted my Steam review here, so any feedback is awesome for those kinds of things.

I really wish I was using es at the time I bought Valiant Hearts, didn't realize it was Uplay until it was too late. I'm stubborn as hell and won't play things with Uplay. O wellz.

its completely innofensive and the only reason i even notice it exists is when i exit the game I notice it, but hey, like GFWL, I guess everyone has a different experience

If anyone wants a copy of New Vegas for Steam just PM me. I was going to play it but my backlog is too big and I figure that I will never get around to it.

That's what I'm thinking it is since DOTA also works the same way

Oh yeah, so then it's basically every 10$ then. You get a new card even if you've maxed out your drops when you spend 10$ on the in-game store.

You save money at the expense of time, it's more of a trade-off to be honest.

Finished Gone Home and a few thoughts:

Went into it not knowing anything besides what kind of game it is. Was a lot shorter than I was expecting. The story was interesting enough I guess but I think I found the act of wandering around discovering fragments the more compelling part of the experience. I'd say it's definitely worth a playthrough as long as you're the type of person who doesn't need tons of action to stay interested, but I have no clue how they can justify charging $19.99 for it at normal price.

It is more of a principle thing for me, one day I may do a Uplay roundup and finish up all the stuff that falls into this category all at one time. Blood Dragon, Legends, Valiant Hearts. They will just sit there in my library until then.

Abyss Odyssey: I'm still on the fence about that one. It looks cool, yes - but I didn't enjoy Zeno Clash and found Rock of Ages (PS3) kinda boring. I'll wait for proper hands-on impressions.
