Aspyr is only listed on the store page for the first KOTOR, so maybe it's getting achievements too?

That would require new assets-- cards, badges, wallpapers, emoticons-- but achievements only take, like, an intern.

That would only make sense, I mean both games getting the same treatment

I wish some of devs of popular games would disclose how much profit they make out of cards-backgrounds-emotes. I always supposed (by doing some simple math) that it's huge money compared to couple of days of work required, but then again so many ignore those that I'm not sure. It would be nice to know.

Tell God to send down KOTOR III, please.

I never knew that God was a dev

I always thought God is a comedian, tho.

and yet everybody was annoyed when we took Poland before they could attack us and the russians with their tank hussars. One of these was enough to drive a wedge into whole armies.

EU4 much?

Microsoft Security Essentials or essentially Windows Defender in Win 8+ is all I've needed for years. If you must put something on your PC don't install the insidious nagware that is Avast but Bitdefender does a completely ad free version that does the trick and doesn't pester you to 'upgrade'.

I am using Avast for 10 years and I never had any issues with viruses or with Avast so I blame R* :p

Yeah blocking everything is a great way to not get viruses.

Bitdefender free is pretty good. Not intrusive at all and has (mostly) the same protection as their paid products.

About once a month I'd say. Hey everyone has their preference, some rate Panda and AVG as great AV programs but personally I prefer something to be silent, unobtrusive and only pester me when it's detected something about to go down which from my experience only MSE and Bitdefender do.

I always thought that every PC gamer has and played Fallout games (old ones), a Civ game (or Alpha Centauri), Wolfenstein 3D and KOTOR games at least. Please don't break my universe.

oh I agree with you (yet again), I just pointed out that people will keep using what they want anyway

From 7th july to 15th july, my younger brother accessed my account without my permission and used my mothers credit card without her permission to purchase around 667 dollars worth of items from the community market. Is it possible for steam to refund this money to my mothers credit card account?

Breach & Clear: Deadline is out of early access, and it must be a price error, but the 2 pack is currently cheaper (base price as well) than buying a single copy.

Blinded by the luminous glory that is David Bowie's physical manifestation.
Mannn what a difference this engine update to Unturned makes. I can't figure out how to go into the editor, but everything including draw distance has improved. The only thing that is really a problem (though minor) is pop-in even at 200% draw distance. If they could solve that pop-in at a distance to where it was more subtle, it'd be perfect.

your only option is contacting steam support and asking nicely, if you still have said items.
and praying they will read your ticket at all

Your mum isn't going to see that money again unless she issues a chargeback. Note that doing so will result in your account having restricted functionality (not my image) for nine weeks, you will no longer be able to use the credit card on Steam, and you won't be able to use the Community Market again until 30 days after your next successful purchase.

I thought Valve just sent in the Half Life
Assassins to kill everyone.
that sounds more reasonable.

I know a lot of people won't care, but: This is blowing my mind. An 18-19(?) year old kid is outdoing DayZ in terms of support and redoing shit.

He just moved the engine from whatever to Unity (not a fan of that engine but if it works) and overhauled things while redoing achievements (no more multiplayer stuff it seems? Yay for me and my solo surviving) and adding mod/Steam workshop support.

I'm pretty impressed.

Now if only DayZ would allow offline/singleplayer play and redo the zombies to where they're the STAR of the game. *cough cough cough*
um, unless there's something that i'm missing, that game was always built in unity, he just updated it to unity 5 like everyone else :I

Hopefully he'll make more big games in the future. I would give the guy millions of dollars if I had that wealth.
i wonder where he'll end up, if anywhere

there's very few places that are better than obsidian for someone like him

Oh wow, EVO just went past eSports and straight into sportsSports. Woshige celebrating a little bit too early in Xrd was played on SportsCentre.

Sound quality is rubbish sadly, hopefully a better clip emerges!

haha that's hilarious

MSE used to be great. It's pretty shit now though tbh.

really?

what happened?

how reliable is that site

Detection rates were always subpar, maybe I remember wrong but it was consistently at least in the lower third. And after all these years large directories still take ages to show all the file icons. MSE is the Origin of AV software, looks to be working okay if you don't challenge it but does little and breaks down fast. Of course they can't compete 100% with other vendors because that could lead to legal problems but some noticeable progress would be nice.

which one should i be using

i liked mse cos it was like didn't bother me much

avast was always on my case for one thing or another

Bitdefender Free. Very unobtrusive just like MSE.

They also have lots of promotions for free keys going on. I tried the full version last year but didn't like the interface since it was a pain to turn stuff off I don't want and the performance was spotty but the latest tests are indeed great. I'll give the free version a look once my Norton sub (still in the top 3 of paid suites, 0 complaints here, incredibly fast and doesn't bother me either) runs out.

Is you haven't had any viruses/spyware and your PC is running fine I would stick with MSE for now. If you are paranoid of getting viruses though then maybe hop up to a more secure AV.

Most cases where you get a virus is down to the user clicking a bad link or installing something they shouldn't As long as you are internet wise then almost any AV will do!

MSE is fine if you don't struggle with basic proper internet usage concepts.

The thinking that you have to click on things and visit unsavory websites to catch something is a bit outdated, like there were cases where PCs got infected through the ads on a reputable site. Also 'good' malware won't ever show itself. Still yeah, if you keep Windows updated (an important fix came out yesterday btw, everyone install that!) and have something, anything running chances are low.

Mine is pretty and pink
Avast bothered me too much so jumped to using MSE and malwarebytes.

Also why I swapped from avast was because it fucked up win10 for awhile in earlier builds for some people, me included.

Should I switch to something else?

Skyrim Legendary for 6€ is back @GMG

Nice bought it.

I don't use anything.

Than again I don't browse much, when I do its nothing. I've oddly always disabled flash by default since god knows when.

Though I did win a year sub to malware bytes though! (I know different lol)

Let's just face it people who catch computer viruses are just as shy about telling people where and how they got infected as those that have an STD. Invariably both stem from a similar deviant pursuit.

Tell us about that time you caught a keylogger while browsing Doogie Howser fetish porn. We understand.

That's better than nothing or MSE alone, I install MWB once in a while too plus McAfee Stinger and let them run. Only takes a few minutes so why not.

True, but in my case, I have already done all the backtracking for all the other levels. I wanted to do this before entering the last part, for which the game warned me there was no possible return.

I hope for a patch to fix this.

I don't think any patch is going to fix it, since the dev posting on GAF said that it's by design.
Personally I consider it one egregious flaw but I don't see it ever getting changed.

I wish the Steam Client would be a bit more snappy. It feels so cumbersome and even on an SSD, the start up feels like it takes too long.

Talking of barely functional applications, I'm about one more stuttering YouTube video from binning Chrome for the foreseable future. Don't know if I could give up on some extentions though.

*blush* I.. I don't know what you're talking about. Sure there was this one time where I went and grabbed this picture that I use for my avatar where I got a nasty case of ringworm but she told me she was clean!

What shackles was on about the other day sounds like the perfect solution. Basically break the individual components of the client down into moduels and you only install the ones you want. Not sure how dependant some componets are of each other but stripping out stuff like streaming, chat, community, even the store and such leaving just content management and launcher might make it rocket fast.

yet another kickstarter VN with a twist

it's hybrid between VN and RPG, we had several of this kind before already, for example Magical Diary.

I remember when the kickstarter for this was posted in the thread, which I just went to check and I guess it's dead in the water, at 17k/50k and 8 days left.

Serious Sam is a wicked gahbidge series for chowdaheads.
If people sanboxed their browsers or went full-on separate Linux install, we wouldn't even be having this antivirus discussion.
