Been having a tough time reliably launching Steam on both my computers, sometimes have to restart Windows 10 several times. This started a couple weeks ago and I suspect it has something to do with some Windows updates. And often if Steam does start it's incredibly slow.

Yeah, it only made them more revenue then every single non-MMO FF game they have on Steam while not having been on sale once and the PC version being terribly mismanaged all around.

I mean you'd think after selling 350k copies like this someone at Square would start to think "Hey, we actually made a lot of money. Maybe we could make even more money if we stopped treating PC players as second-class customers? ...Nah. That would make too much sense. Just keep delaying ports like usual. We'll just add some Valve accessories as preorder boni and call it a day."

Square is just run by idiots.

I know it was sarcasm :p

Yeah, no.
Do you have Steam games on a SSD and is it almost full? I had that one time and it was sooo slow but that's just normal if it's almost full - clean some stuff out and it will be back to normal.

I've had some problems with Steam running slow over the last week or so under Windows 8.1. Just trying to scroll down the store or activity page was excruciating. Quitting and restarting Steam has fixed the problem for me. So it might be the client, not Windows 10.

Been the same for me.

Tried a steam re-install that seemed to improve it but it only lasted a couple of days at most.

Perhaps I'll try that trick where you delete everything in the Steam directory except the steamapps folder and steam.exe

There's a defence force for everything on GAF.

Reading that thread I realized that even Pillars of Eternity was affected.
The hero edition got a base price increase from 42€ to 45€ in April. Not terribly much, but generally games are supposed to get cheaper not more expensive as they get older.

Well take your pick:

1. It doesn't affect the countries they live in. If their countries are affected they may not have any money issues so the price hike doesn't matter.

2. Fanboyism and corporate inclined person pretending to be an armchair specialist in economy

3. Think they are supporting a starving indie dev and have a hero complex about it

4. Ignorance about the game or the platform but wanting to be an edgy and special snowflake.

5. They honestly doesn't see anything wrong with it and think it's a fair price and practice.

played a bit of brigador, that game is just really fucking cool

really dig everything about the visuals and the sound of the game, it's just like a lot of cool shit going on all the time

it is also pretty fun, tho i only got through the tutorial missions. i kind of liked the tank the best but i can't play this game and not choose a mech

this game is just like good shit you know

it's just so fucking cool

Actually this Paradox thing made me curious about something. How often do base prices of games get lowered on Steam, or who is likely to lower base prices to begin with?

I would imagine it's solely up to publishers and because of that, varies a great deal across the whole store?

I've had this issue as well the past couple weeks and was able to fix it by using instructions on turning off auto detect settings under your LAN/Internet Properties:

The link is almost 4 years old so I was surprised it had an effect but is definitely more responsive after turning that off and rebooting Steam, hopefully it lasts.

Anyway the Paradox's move is just a way to milk much more money from users, because let's face it, those prices doesn't reflect the purchase power of a specific country.
Just to make an example, Tyranny Overlord is 80€ here, 1/12 of my salary, that's insane.

The various editions are just total bullshit. You get avatars, the soundtrack, and a guide, and even more useless stuff. The short story collection is also just useless, half of it is from their homepage, now taken down, I think, and each story is like 2 or 3 pages.
Pillars had equally useless stuff. At best I can see the need for buying the guide if you want to know more about the lore of the world, but honestly, is that really worth paying twice than the base game, especially since there is no more natural way of picking up the lore than talking to NPCs?

I still can't get over how much I liked the cast of The New Order, and how much I loved the gunplay of the game. I keep thinking "it's Wolfenstein! It has no right to have such a thrilling story." But it gripped me and made me want to see where things were going, and it made me feel down reading some of the news articles about how the Nazi influenced and controlled other cultures and countries. Even goddamn BJ was likable and a complete dudebro you would love to hang out with. I loved Anya, I loved Max Hass, even Klaus, and J the guitar player who gave me a trip was so cool and I love Bombate, his laugh and upbeat aura, Caroline the mother figure and Wyatt the young soldier growing into a dependent man. But damn you Frau Engel
I'm coming after you! At least I got your creepy as all hell husband in front of your eyes.

The last three chapters still kind of soured me a bit, maybe it was the complete "out there" path the plot went or the difficulty spike and amount of heavily armored soldiers that made me frustrated but thankfully I got through it. Now I need a break really, and I'll go complete another game meanwhile, but it's quite a feat for a game to hold on to me all the way through. It rarely happens, me can only count a handful of games that I've complete in the last decade including Max Payne 3, Tomb Raider 2013, Mafia 1 and 2 and Final Fantasy XV.

I'm thinking of running through Fergus' timeline next and I know there aren't any substantial differences but will I get more lore about the world and how the German regime influenced things or is another playthrough mainly for collecting gold artifacts?

Anyway, seeing Europa Universalis with a 75% discount costing as much as it did previously without a discount is really discouraging, i guess i'm never going to buy this game :\

I still can't believe a MH main series title will be on PC. Hopefully they don't pull some weird stunt and it will be available on Steam and shortly after console release.
They've been suspiciously reluctant to talk about anything related to this SKU.

Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters is a neat visual novel, but the SRPG battles shoudl've been just the regular run of the mill rather than be 'predict where enemy will be, position yourself there and attack. Pray they move to said position and that your attack actually hits'
