I don't know where to post this seeing as there isn't exactly a GFWL fan club around these part but I've been clearing out some hard drive space and got a little curious as to what's actually in the EULA for GFWL titles. So I popped on the Xbox.com site to see the updated terms and conditions and under the withdraw of services section instead of seeing the "blah, blah, 30 days notice, blah, blah" that quite a few have theirs states they may remove or suspended services without any notice. Who's betting they're just going to pull the plug without saying anything?

What games do you have credit for? It is always a mystery with amazon. The best way to tell is contact support who will go through your account and let you know.

It's applied automatically. You don't have $15 worth of general credit but rather $15 of credit in total that has accumulated across various promotions. If it's not working on 2K games then it's just credit for some junk games/apps -- if you're curious you can search your inbox for "Your Amazon.com promotional credit" or contact an Amazon CSR.

Papers, Please Creator Announces Return Of The Obra Dinn

Lucas Pope, creator of Papers, Please, has released a few details for his next game, Return of the Obra Dinn.

As you can see in Pope's tweet above, the game is a 3D first-person mystery with black and white 1-bit rendering, recreating Pope's "nostalgia-softened spot" for his first computer, a Mac Plus.

The game takes place in 1808 when the merchant ship the Obra Dinn, which was declared lost at sea six years prior, shows up at the Cape of Good Hope with no crew and damaged sails. Players take on the role of an insurance adjustor for the East India Company's London Office as they seek out the captain's logbook for assessment.

Pope says the game will be much different from previous games he has created, including Papers, Please, writing on TIGSource about the game, "There'll be less creativity with the gameplay and instead I want to experiment with the rendering, story, and a few technical features."

I first became aware of the multimedia artist & game designer Merritt Kopas through her shrewd skewering of games on the website Nightmare Mode, for which I was also writing at the time.
