Hm, tempting.
FF3 always looks tempting whenever I see it on sale.
But that final dungeon. Not worth it.

The PC version is not nearly as bad as the other iterations. If you ALT+F4 out of a battle before you are completely dead, you restart at the last doorway you went through. It's kind of like an "auto-save" system and it made the last dungeon actually enjoyable.
There's still a chance, should you and your friends and everyone sign the Sega PC port petition going on...God damn, I've just beaten the Bayonetta 2 demo What a game.
Such a shame I missed on the first edition :/

Bayonetta 2 comes with a full version of Bayonetta 1, so there you go.
No, there isn't. Nintendo funded development, participated in development, and has the final say on where it will and won't be seen.

So you're a fan of Unbounded?
My condolences.
He was talking about the first game.
You know... They really should stack. I bet they could find a hell of a lot of angles for profit if they allowed people to chase down 5x20% to get a game for free.If only they stacked!
Sega seems apathetic on the series, declining to fund the sequel, so that seems unlikely as well.

They seem to be pretty apathetic with any of their Japanese games on PC.
I'm still amazed Binary Domain was on PC.
The cost of porting the original game to PC would be negligible compared to the cost of a sequel.
At least they weren't all for Team Indie.
Unless Klepek is on the same wavelength as me? Nah.
Well they might have only seen the remake. Which I haven't seen so don't know if those couple of lines like 'You really want to save those crazy Swedes?' 'They're Norwegians Mac' are in there.
Yeah It's not too bad. It's a tad funky with the FOV I'm using as it fisheyes towards the edges sometimes but I have yet to face of against the Alien so will wait until then to see how it really comes into play. One thing of note I did stumble across though is because the game isn't really designed this way that the shadow maps sometimes will scale back whilst being visible on the outsides on the screen which wouldn't be visable at a 16:9 presentation. Doesn't bother me that much but it's just one of those little things I picked up
You guys are a bit confused. He missed out on the limited "First Edition", that's the name of the edition with special boxart and artbook included on top of the 2 games. The "Special Edition" which also includes Bayonetta 1 is not limited at all.Bayonetta 2 comes with a full version of Bayonetta 1, so there you go.

Sega likes (and needs) money though, and the porting costs would be minimal. They just need a few nudges and it sure doesn't hurt to lend a hand.Sega seems apathetic on the series, declining to fund the sequel, so that seems unlikely as well.

If Bayonetta or Vanquish comes to Steam I will give a good amount of them, I think.
There are a lot of Japanese games that could be ported. Not many happen.

Food for thought: Viking: Battle for Asgard hit the PC four-and-a-half years after consoles and Sega is currently in the process of putting finishing touches on Steamworks/widescreen/xinput patches for its Dreamcast games.
I expect 2015 to be the year SEGA would announce more of their older games on Steam. What do they have planned for 2015 in the west anyways?
I mean, I'd buy them for $20 the moment the store page went up. I paid $80 for Rising (360 and PC launch).Would you buy each game for $20 though? Can you convince the average consumer that they'd be worth their money?
SEGA worrying about low initial sales could be what's stopping them from putting it on Steam.
In fact what would count as a successful sales number, on Steam, for initial releases of such kinds of games?

I'm not trying to stomp all over anyone's dreams like some sort of message board asshole.
I'm just saying that Japanese companies have been reluctant to port for a number of reasons. Further, the argument that it's a negligible cost isn't exactly true. There are still significant costs and they have to run numbers looking at potential sales numbers, balanced against other development investments of that money.
That's why so many niche Square Enix titles console/handheld titles have not been ported outside Japanese. That's despite needing nothing more than translations.
Ultimately, if it happens, that's great. I would absolutely love to see Japanese developers embrace Steam ports.
alright so my boss is gone today and I've done next to nothing at work today. I've pondered my gaming future since my current pc is apparently incapable of running the new games particularly well. 3 options for my "next gen":
1) Get back into nintendo.
- pros: cheapest of all the consoles, incredible first party library.
- cons: none of that third party hotness
2) PS4
- pros: bloodborne!!
- cons: console game prices suck
3) Build a new PC or buy a pre-built
- pros: this is a steam thread. you know them.
- cons: most expensive to get started with
keep in mind I do plan on keeping the pc I have around for as long as possible. what say you gaf?
Exactly what I was thinking. Make the coupons stack, and make them marketable. When a coupon hits people's accounts they can either decide to a) use it for the discount b) sell it for steam wallet or c) find / buy more copuons to get the game at an even bigger discount.
Of course a system like that is totally open to abuse, so instead of coupons going to everyone they would have to limit them to a small part of the community. Or stop spamming people with them, and just give them out as badge-crafting prizes for ultimate effect.
Well, I played it for 20 hours and collected all achievements except the Multiplayer ones (Multiplayer is dead). The Drift challenges were the hardest part of the game, you have to experience the difficulty later on, man.

I'm rather biased so I'd say go with PC. Games on sale for crazy cheap in the long run, and if you look in the 'build a PC thread' you should be able to find the components you need to build a good gaming rig.
