Forza Horizon 3 seems to run at 4k well on a 3570k and 1070. Store is still garbage but it beats Xbox.

trying to download forza horizon 3 on win10 and its stuck at 23GB. everytime i pause it that ends up locking up the whole store so i have to close it...cant even cancel the download

The best way to deal with the mess that is the Windows 10 store downloads is to just start download and leave it alone for several hours until it does what it needs to fully install/finalize everything. Its got a mind of its own. Best not to interfere.
What the hell am I looking at?
I bought TIS-1000 last Steam sale but haven't gotten around to playing it mostly because I don't know assembly.
It comes with a manual, and IMO it does a good job with the difficulty scaling so you don't get too lost.
The manual doesn't really explain anything from the quick read I did of it. It gives the commands, but it doesn't tutorial the first puzzle to give you a grip on understanding the "logic" of the puzzle.

There are plenty of shmups on Steam for all tastes these days.

I guess it's a subjective experience, I read the manual and just looking at the first puzzle I knew what I had to do. I learned some assembly on uni, but I only remembered a little so I don't think it mattered much.
In any case, there is this cool guide that does a pretty good job of explaining the basic stuff.

Pretty average numbers for gal gun too, I had a look at the steam page and honestly had no idea what the game was about from just looking at the screens and video.
Give it a few more days, it came out just this week. It's an on-rails shooter.
It does look interesting, but I'm not sure how I feel about this bit:
I mean, I'm not sure "we're never going to have a real campaign mode" is something you'd be proud of and make a bullet point.

After downloading ReCore and Forza Horizon 3 unscathed, I've been got by Gears of War 4, after 90gb of bullshit downloaded, it's still not installed and I keep getting errors that are "on Microsoft's end". I ask myself, is it even worth it?

it's the latest game by christine love (of analogue a hate story and hate plus fame, and other really cool games too), a visual novel in which you play as the crossdressing sister to a douchy prince and you go around a cruise doing social manipulation and flirting and stuff. there's also a lady with a whip that like whips you if you misbehave but then u want to misbehave cos it's fun and you end up all whipped and stuff

But if you're expecting some of the surprising "wait, what, I had no idea that the map had this hidden complexity to it" like SOTN or Super Metroid, no, it's a lot more linear than that.
Maybe the more productive comment is that if you generally like Metroidvanias, I suspect you will like Outland, irrespective of whether you classify it as one.

Clustertrucks has been a surprising joy given I didn't know about it until the day I bought it. Utter chaos and just a blast to see what they throw at you next. Some of the randomness can be frustrating tho on the harder levels where you can't really practice given the trucks explode differently each time.
