Killer is Dead is awesome. If you like action games and crazy japanese stuff don't look back. Don't forget the fix to get dat 60fps.

Yeah Beyond Earth has nailed the space vibe alright. If this was just a reskined Civ V I'd already be pleased as punch. You got some really interesting things going on, even in the very early game. Your founding city has a futuristic outpost look to it, the worker unit is using a power loader type device, the wildlife looks alien like and interact with the tiles they're on as well, the variety of fauna and flora look like something from another planet, the big crevice's, weird pools in the water and miasma give off a nice glow and other worldly animations.
But then the gameplay, while familiar also feels switched up even in the core concepts. You don't have many Civs to pick from, in fact they're called Sponsors. There's 8 in total and they all have differing bonuses/traits but that's not all. You also chose some specialisations that really help you shape the early game and make it more immediate (especially if you've played a Civ game before). You chose what kind of Colonist which infer what production bonus you start with like food, production or energy. The Spacecraft allows for an early starting bonus like revealing coastlines or where the Alien Nests are (essential barbarian camps). Lastly selecting what type of Cargo assists you with early unit or building selection so you can have +1 to population of you founding city to start or a Soldier or Worker from the get go. If you have an idea how you want to play this is a nice little boost to save a few early turns. Of course there's more new stuff too but I'm only scratching the surface myself but initial impression are good so far.

The original browser game is pretty sweet, and it was made in only a week. It won the 2014 Cyberpunk Game Jam.
Really looking forward to this becoming a bigger game. The original nailed the atmosphere completely.

anyone try the controller support for Beyond Earth? I've always wanted to play a Civ game but my main PC is hooked up to a TV and my laptop doesnt have a mouse right now, just a track pad.
im not actually playing it yet, Im just going through the list to see if everything is ready for extra life saturday. Will play it there tho. Also, for all the shit Ubi gets, that game has graphic options coming out of sam's ass, including borderless window

From what I've read it's not even a patch on Sacred 2.
S2 is an absolutely gigantic game, 7 classes (with a ridiculous number of possible builds), thousands of quests, hundreds of bosses, hours upon hours of content.
The quality of that content is questionable sure, but that's why you go into the sequel expecting refinement & a better quality adventure (even if it's scaled back and shorter).
Instead S3 is like some kinda short arcadey spin-off, but it's actually called Sacred 3 and the devs are expecting full-price.
Played through Evil Quest and Boo Bunny Plague. I'll write some reviews if I'm not too distracted by Bayo 2 & Shinovi Versus arriving tomorrow.

Yeah I enjoyed playing it, but I didn't really get grabbed by its story at all (terrorist attack on the US ... kind of generic, especially for something that is tied to Tom Clancy). Same applies for the characters which, including Sam, didn't have a lot of depth to them. It could have been so much better.

The animated .gif definitely has the whole "box bodies with stringy noodle limbs", Sword & Sworcery sprite thing going on, which I hate. The splash image on the page shows that the artist can work in a more appealing style, so I'm really hoping they'll reconsider the look of the characters for the finished game.
Yeah, from what I've read it's more Gauntlet than Sacred.
the new gauntlet is pretty fun with local co-op. I imagine this casual sacred is as well.
I will buy for a severely discounted price.

Ugh, I don't want to go to work. Wish my RoG Swift had come in this morning.
Gsync seems amazing though, still some issues under 40 but starting up Sleeping Dogs which often drops to the 50s while in the city was a revelation compared to before.
