can someone from the US help me and buy GTA 3 and Vice City from amazon.com for me?

they are both on sale for 2$. I will paypal you 3$ for each game

The mech fight was boring as hell, it's only better because it actually takes effort and was like 5 times shorter than the ones in bayonetta.
The second one is alright, because your normal attack actually deals damage. The first encounter is basically a parry tutorial, and by tutorial I mean hurl your first born son into the water so he can learn to swim that kind of tutorial.

It is, I'm halfway and need to finish it, but I'm loving it so far.

i was thinking about satsuki too, so hard to choose between them

Kill la Kill art is nothing like that tho, its more like this (NSFW like most of Kill la Kill)

I liked Kill la Kill but never finished, at a certain point it dawned on me "if you are doing a parody of a genre but you are as bad as said genre, is it still a parody?"
i think it's as much parody as it's celebration

it's not condemning its genre, it's just being honest about it

The mech fight was fucking terrible, I agree. But the rest is ok.

Nobody even trying to guess what's that unlocalized before game that Ghostlight plan to release?

edited: it feels so weird to be not playing new Civ, but I have to live by my word. Unless situation with early adopters is fixed (where you actually can buy dlcs collection and expansions cheaper without a game than with it), I don't see myself 1-daying strategy games ever again.

So I poked around Beyond Eath for a few minutes. It turns out almost every sound effect antagonizes my pup¹. So I had to cut short any real exploration of the game until a later date. But one thing I did note for people interested in exploring the genre with BE, while partially useful, the ingame tutorial system is a bit lacking. I would suggest starting out with Endless Legend as an alternative as its tutorial is more effective at teaching concepts and game mechanics.

¹Back to wearing headphones it is.

That and I will say keep an eye on the Quests tab. The early ones help with learning the basics of the game as well as give a bit of story. Or if you're a reader the Civlopedia has lots of early game guidance. I think the first quest I got was to build an Outpost which then guides you through Research projects and the benefits of construction.

I do get the feeling though that you're kind of expected to know the key concepts behind Civ to dive straight in but some things play out a little differently. Having so much stuff pop up at you from the off can be a little overwhelming to newcomers.

I think the final boss fight took too long, and is insanely hard.

First playthrough on normal was hell for me, especially since I didn't know charging your attacks filled your chi gauge. Took me at least 10 attempts. Second playthrough on extreme with maxed bending and proper use of the chi gauge was 100x easier.

I'm going to ask Valve to regift my copy of AC Unity tomorrow, I'll hold on to it for a while until benchmarks come out. But this is BS, I can't even run the game on recommended if this is all true.

If I can't run it I'll just try and get a refund. Can always save that money for Butman.

Edit: why does Rhaknar need two 970?
Is he going to run virtual reality porn from his PC?

Assassin's Creed: Unity. And I'm willing to bet that you'll need 2 to get 60fps at 1920x1080 with a lot/all the higher settings engaged if Black Flag is anything to go by.

I liked Kill la Kill but never finished, at a certain point it dawned on me "if you are doing a parody of a genre but you are as bad as said genre, is it still a parody?"

I'm a fairly picky person when it comes to anime. I can't stand the vast majority of it because it's weird garbage... But there's something special about Kill la Kill. So to me, it is very much a parody, a bizarre and self-aware parody. It's really absurd, but I love it.

I'm only just finished episode 9 because I have to have dubs (I know, all you anime snobs are cringing right now) and the staggered releases for the rest are just dumb. The wait is killing me.

oh I was talking about the Naga section with the mechs :p

That part was awful. The Naga sequences are really kinda dumb. So far that, and some clunky controls and response times are really my only complaints.

I still haven't finished it, I ragequit a few tries in. Is there any particular trick to it? Most big fights up to that point were COUNTER, whittle their health away a tiny bit, repeat. But it seems near impossible to counter that guy, and all that health is gonna take years to whittle away.

Also, for you Platinum Gamers, how is Korra compared to the rest of the stuff from PG? Korra is my first experience, and while not bad, it's certainly not anywhere as good as people make them sound. I also have Revengence which I'll have to try out soon.

Yeah but if these specs are true. By the time I manage to upgrade my card. I can probably buy the game for $15. So why keep a copy around till then.

God I hope you're holding your sarcasm button. It would be terrible if it come to that.

Here's Black Flag:

On the one hand, you could say that Unity may fare better as it's releasing on fewer platforms, but it's also Ubi's first title that's exclusively "next-gen", so there's no PS360 baseline.

The Steam equivalent of the drunk friend who keeps offering to pay your tab all night.
I just couldn't resist (><)

you had me until the gif showed ppl from disgaea 2, then you lost me

Some of his moves aren't parry-able, and he's very fast, so the party window is tiny. And after a while he'll stop the most parry-able charge attack.

It feels like it has been a while since talk of video card upgrades was so interwoven and integral to new game release discussion (and purchasing decisions)... which is sad news for those of us still rocking 5+ year old 5850s and the like.

I realise now that I have upgrade decisions to make.

If only everything ran as well as Alien: Isolation (which, admittedly, has a setting and level design that lends itself well to lesser system requirements)... but I can't help but feel that some less than stellar optimisation efforts are in the mix and muddying things at the moment, too.

So.

The Forest.

Kinda damn crazy.

Do tell, HP. I'm definitely going to pick this up one day, and have watched quite a few videos etc - one thing it seems to lend itself well to is wacky anecdotes from emergent gameplay moments (even if some of those do entertainingly stem from some bugginess).

Hahaha I wish. One plus point Black Flag had over III is that it was much, much more scalable and could run fine on lower hardware if you dialed back the settings which made very little difference in III. I don't have too much to hand to show you the demands of Black Flag but these might give an idea.
1280x720 - No AA and Environment Quality set to High

1920x1080 - No AA and Environment Quality set to High

2560x1440 - No AA and Environment Quality set to High

3840x2160 - No AA and Environment Quality set to High
11486327064_3e61155c86_o.png

Now these are taken in Havana which really isn't close to being the most demanding area but by knocking back the Environment Quality a touch and disabling AA I could get a solid 60fps in that area on a single 780 without a problem. Adding SMAA was fine with only a slight dip now and then but it was when I got to an area with lots of foliage that my framerate would plummet. Around the Iguana Hideout and the Warehouses were the worst and we're talking mid 30's (that's Vsync disabled as well so not snapped back by double buffered Vsync in game). Adding a second card did the trick and allowed me to set Environment Quality all the way up to Very High. It's 60fps for 95% of the game at 1920x1080 and 90% at 2560x1440 with areas with high amounts of tessellation being the most demanding. Of course as you see in the 3840x2160 (ie 4k) if you can deal with 30fps it works like a peach.

I really wonder why Steam isnt doing a whole client overhaul, but updates icon and colours slowly, day by day.

Just noticed the BPM icon seems to be a new one compared to yesterday.

I got all cards in a little more than 2 hours. I'm not even sure 2 hours would be a record.

I think the longest I've waited for a single card drop, excluding cases where there were server issues, is around 90 minutes or so (Disney games, although the drop times have since been reduced).

First of all, it's easier than you'd think to set up a camp in a well-fortified area. But time/food/base management is super tough. Every night, I'm finding myself fending off packs of 10+ cannibals. Fires help.

you did? I was just told that it takes 2 hours, I should have checked myself.
I wonder why people get different rate of card drops, though. I thought it's only dependant on rate devs set up.

...Black Flag....

so... you mean there is no visual difference whatever res you choose? (><)
