Twist after twist!
Well, I did manage to go about three months without being infected with Bad Rats. It had to happen at some point.
Thanks!

Happy birthday!
I don't get the bad impressions with Bad Rats. I played it for about 2 hours. It's actually "Not that bad" I'm still 8 hours away from my goal though.
Strawberry cake for my birthday, GAF! My wife hinted that I'll be getting Steam credit for my birthday. My favorite.
Okay I dug in deep to dlc 2 of dark souls 2 and I've got to say the level design is really cool but the enemy encounters and the first boss are the most shitty thing in the entire series.
First boss is a god damn palette swap.
I haven't played the DLC (I was kind of disgusted with the main game by the time I was done, not to mention it was on the 360 so I had no reason to go back to it) so the enemy and boss design being kind of crappy in the DLC is the definition of "not surprising" to me.
Good news: they've shown they can be consistent.
Bad news: they've shown they can be consistent at copy/pasting or creating aggressively mediocre bosses.
EDIT: First post of a new page, yikes.
So, any wishes/predictions about tomorrow Humble Bundles? I'm hoping for something really good, I have that strange urge to make my backlog even bigger.

Fighting games really need to do story modes like Injustice and MK9. They don't try to cater to every character, and they offer a solid canon without having to wonder about what's going to happen to who for their sequels.Like MKX not having a majority of the classics coming back because they all got killed.
Dungeon of the Endless is pretty legit. Even at early access it's a great Rogue Like.

Uninstalling games via steam is kind of annoying. Went into list view so I can sort by size on disk and when I click install on a game it instantly completes. The problem with this is that it moves to the game I was uninstalling to the bottom of the list instead of moving the selection down to the next installed game. Have to then scroll back up which is frustrating when you have as many games as I do.

It's actually an old game (1988), not a new game trying to look old - hence the authentic retro visuals.
I gave up on Mega Man Battle Network 3 (GBA) because the dungeons were pissing me off way, way too much for me to keep on playing, even if I was 75% of the way through.
I think I'm gonna switch gears and play Divinity: Original Sin next. I won it from gaf, but didn't get into it at launch because the first dungeon was really dull, and Dota 2 sidetracked me. Hopefully it picks up shortly thereafter.
Only show installed + beat/delete lifestyle avoids this issue. There is no scrolling.

I'm going to take a break from GAF for a few days. Probably steam as well.
Sigh the last few days have been really terrible for me. Everything is going wrong.
You mean the ones PriitV posted some time ago? I asked him to post them so others can use them too but I never got a reply. Where do you get them? I'd love to use them as well. They look really nice.Switching to the blurred steam grid pics. Really like them. Betther than the originals. Clean and simple.
That game looks really like a good entry point into Japanese VN and Jawmuncherc also recommended it, so I am sure it's fun. Now to wait for a good sale.Pretty much the whole game was being patronizing to the West haha.
Man, Go! Go! Nippon! is great. You should give it another shot. It's a lot of dumb fun, although as above they do make stupid gaijin feel like idiots at times. OMG A KONBINI, I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU HAVE THESE HERE.
I only played the demo when the game was still new and boy did they nail satisfying gunplay. Just brutally spectacular. But since Max Payne I always wondered how player-triggered bullet-time would have to designed to be workable in multipayer? I read Max Payne 3 did it but I don't know how that can work actually.I did not know FEAR Online was a thing... http://store.steampowered.com/app/223650/
Ah snap. You know what that means. Another classic lashman stream incoming
my body is readyI want it to be Friday already, goddammit!!! ; _ ;
Happy birthday man! Your mouse (and hand) is huge! You know what they say about men with big hands.... th-they be saying, damn, you got big hands.Strawberry cake for my birthday, GAF! My wife hinted that I'll be getting Steam credit for my birthday. My favorite.
Dang that's a lot of stuff. Are you part of the 52 club? Regardless I read them all. Glad you liked Kilker is Dead. Wonder if we can bother deep silver to try and get Shadows of the Damned on steam.August was a good month for my backlog.
Here are 1-3ish sentence reviews (that nobody will read) of my completed games for August:
Whispering Willows:
Your character's walkspeed is mildly annoying. The devs patched in a run button but it only works outdoors. A flawed but enjoyable experience- get it in a bundle.
Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons:
This game is short but visually and emotionally stunning. My controller's batteries died about 80% into the game and while it's possibly to play the game with a keyboard it's very uncomfortable.
Goat Simulator:
About 3 hours of enjoyment the rest of the time is spent cursing flappy bird and getting the achievements you missed while you were enjoying the game.
Transistor:
A somewhat short but gorgeous game with a great soundtrack. The only rpgs I play involve Pokemon and Mario so the combat was the greatest part for me. After completing the game I went immediately to New Game+.
The Walking Dead S2:
I didn't really care for any of the new characters. Game is still filled morally ambiguous choice and explores humans as a threat rather than the walkers. Game is missing the exploring puzzle solving aspect from S1.
Killer Is Dead:
As a plot enthusiast this game is my type of game. A++++ would buy more Suda games on Steam.
Nihilumbra:
The Void is hard. As a puzzle-platformer it doesn't do anything amazing but it has a great atmosphere. Get it on sale or in a bundle.
Castlestorm:
Do you like tower defense games or was your favorite part about construction toys as a kid destroying your creations? Then this game is for you.
Happy birthday man! Your mouse (and hand) is huge! You know what they say about men with big hands.... th-they be saying, damn, you got big hands.
Agreed. Capcom would get a lot more money out of the casual market if they did this.
Honestly, I would be down for this (the story modes were the only thing I liked about Injustice and MK9, though I'm not a big fan of the gameplay)
The wondrous thing is that they can still have whoever they want (if they wanted) come back and just not feature them in story mode at all. But I do agree with you.Fighting games really need to do story modes like Injustice and MK9. You're joking right? The Undernet wasn't that bad....and i'm pretty sure that place is optional. The Battle Network series is so good.
also i didn't realize Dead Rising 3 was coming out so soon. I hope i can get back on my computer in time to preload it...
It's just that instead of offering one solid story they try to thin things out by giving everyone a watered down story to please all the players and end up with a crap product in the end. I like that NetherRealm's story mode forces you to play with some characters that you would never play as. They're also not afraid to put the "nail in the coffin" to some story arcs.
I really blame the fans for it. No matter what, they want EVERY character form past games to show up in sequels. Which leads to quantity over quality. Even if fighting games are introduced with new graphical assets and character models being built from the ground up, you still have fans that shit on fighting games for not having 30 or 40 people right off the bat.
That's why I'm so happy with Xrd. I feel like it's going to be a great product with a unbloated, solid line up and hopefully a great story mode to boot. Then you'll probably get expansions for more characters an what not later. Sort of how SFIV went all the way to USFIV (with 25 to 44 characters), but hopefully not over charging people along the way.

I've been way hooked on Injustice.
No 52 club for me I just had a lot of free time in August. However, now I'm burned out on games and I just find myself staring at my library wanting to play a game but not being in the mood.
I need to work harder to become Sega's president and this way bring Persona to PC, maybe after I play some more of Pinball FX2.
Are there any decent volleyball games on Steam? I'm itching for something like Super Spike V'Ball on the NES, with multi-player of course.
