How are the Van Helsing games? Torchlight-esque in their fluffy boringness, or something a bit deeper and more interesting?

A fair choice. The story in your head is far better than the game can ever deliver itself.

Touched the first one and hated it. Found it incredibly boring.

Haven't bought the next two.

Sad or suspicious? Hmm... maybe he was Kojima all along.

You are weak. I'm waiting it out, I'll get my cheap FF8 eventually.

i didn't issue any refund , the issue was from nuuvem
maybe , some day..we will see FF games on steam for less then $5 ?
or humble bundle FF games ?

surprisingly PP is only at half million sold on steam, I thought it will be twice that. It could be some people returned the game, but I doubt massively.

It was unplayable for a number of people at launch with the game not starting up or endless loading bugs. I'm not surprised if there were a number of refunds.

Just the other day someone contacted me to help solve their endless loading issue. :/

yeah, right after that Capcpom bundle

btw, talking about Capcpom, judging by TGS, they aren't doing that well, are they? Hopefully Dragon Dogma will sell good on steam, they probably need that.

^They have half a dozen MonHun games coming out, they're doing fine far as Japanese gaming companies go.

Lis Discount on PSN as well please!

oh ya, I tend to forget about MonHun all the time

I haven't heard anything from anyone about Toukiden PC.
dat price!

locked at 30 fps, other than that it seem to be fine, only Lain played it as far as I know, that's why you haven't heard much.

Regarding getting Van Helsing Final Cut for free...
I wonder if people will buy the three games separately and then refund the games once they got the complete version for free :/

Yeah, it's kinda disappointing to see it's only sold that much while the game is basically a flawless port. Mad Max is not getting a better result as well.
PC is such a tricky market.

I haven't heard anything from anyone about Toukiden PC.

It's 30fps so it's a bad port and no one is bothering with it.
Again, PC market.

It's the billionth game in a series with only one other game in the series on steam. Pretty decent numbers given the lack of lead up to the PC release.

Aww, poor Toukiden.

They should learn something about pricing their games, because seriously as if they don't even want to sell those games. I'm not ready to pay 60€ for any game, even perfect one and Toukiden isn't perfect.

IDK, before it was announced seemingly everybody wanted it on steam, I surely got such an impression.

It made me remember that SteamSpy report last month or so. There's only 1% of Steam users who actually buy games.
Fortunately, PC sales will eventually catch up with consoles anyway.

but 1% of 100 mln is still a million!

Game is a 1080p/30fps locked game, which is a shame, but other than that I found it to be good. Game never once crashed for me (Win 7 64), kept a locked 30fps at all times (i5-2500k+970), responsive and looks pretty nice for a port/remake of a Vita game (should be on par with the PS4 version) though the portable nature is felt all throughout the game.

The downsides about the port are the locks, the uselessness of M/KB (You gotta enter your name with the pad, the keyboard doesn't register) and, the biggest of all, the price given the barebones nature of the port. I could add that the game used to crash for Win 8 users, but supposedly that got fixed?

The game is good fun, but it's something to be bought on discount for most sane people, which I'm not.

I bought another Razer Naga mouse for my brothers and put in my old one in the box and took the new one. Hope they don't notice.

The biggest problem with Toukiden is the price really.
If a game is gonna cost 60€, it better be a really good port, the only way I'd pay that much for a 30fps locked game is if it was a game I really want (which is not the case for Toukiden).

Is the game playable with a controller or do I need a Hotas? I am waiting for the first VR headset to start the game.
I use a warthog hotas and pedals but apparently it plays great with a controller. The Xbox One version only has that option at the moment so it has to be well thought out at the least.

Is the xbone controller better or worse than a 360 controller? I have a 360 controller but it looks like my wireless adapter is broken. I am wondering if I should buy a new adapter or splurge on a controller adapter combo like so https://jet.com/product/product/4ee9e34bd158488cbe7952371cdc13ab

It's a great controller, it really improves on the Xbox 360 controller and greatly surpasses the DS3 and DS4 controllers in my opinion. I will probably buy the Elite controller at some point.

Finished Mad Max, the entire game revolves around collecting scraps, clearing out camps, upgrade your shit, and so on, it doesn't actually do anything much more than that.

They played very safe with the formula but I find the hand to hand combat to be ok even though very simple and basic, I don't mind it since I generally like beat'em'up games, and I'm in the mood for some mindless action and just roam around collecting shit.

There's not much more to say about it, the world is beautiful, the combat is serviceable and the design for some of the camps are decent, music is pretty non existing, I didn't notice them. Car combat becomes trivial after you've seen the same vehicles over and over (same could be said about combat).

I can nitpick many aspects of the game because everything is just "ok" to me, but I think that's probably good enough for what it's going for, didn't regret buying it and I had fun. I'd say it's a pretty average to decent game, and good if you're in the mood to grind and play in short bursts, I keep going back because it's rather relaxing to drive around and punch some dudes. Ended up clocking 60hrs into it.

I'll give it a "it's ok" out of 10

I finally bought a new PC last week, and then I spent the weekend building it and installing the OS, a few programs and Steam (copied the games from my previous rig so as to avoid downloading them again).

This is what I got:
- CPU: Intel i7 4790K 4GHz, 8M cache
- Graphics card: Asus GeForce Strix GTX 980 4GB
- Motherboard: Asus Z97-E/USB3.1
- RAM: 2x Kingston HyperX Fury DDR3 8GB 1866 (16GB total)
- SSD: Samsung SSD 850 EVO 250GB
- HDD: 2x WD Caviar Green SATA3 3TB (6TB total)
- PSU: Seasonic M12II-750 EVO Edition 750W
- Monitor: LG 23" 23MP55HQ-P
- Case: Thermaltake Urban S41 Black
- Mouse: Logitech G502 Proteus Core
- Keyboard: Logitech G105
- OS: Windows 10 Pro x64 (got it for free thanks to my university, along with Office 365)

I ended up going for an i7 instead of the the i5 4690K I originally wanted, because I could afford it and decided that if I wanted to get a good PC, I'd rather make it as good as I could (while keeping the price somewhat reasonable). Same deal with the GTX 980 instead of a 970; I'm going to be paying it during the next 6 months, so I can deal with a higher amount than if it had been in one single payment (that said, I looked into the 980 Ti and realized it was way too expensive, even in monthly installments). Got a quality PSU, as I've been suggested in this thread, and a 250GB SSD as the system drive (wasn't going to buy one originally, so I blame you guys!)

What I didn't get is a mechanical keyboard. They are very expensive, and I didn't feel comfortable with buying one without knowing how it feels. Who knows, once I'm done paying all of this maybe it couldn't hurt to get one. Upgrading the 3TB drives is also another option for the future, but for now it's fine. Need to get some speakers too, though I'd need to buy a new desk first and rearrange my room, as there's currently no way it could fit since I'm also keeping my old PC there.

Those of you who praised the speed of SSDs weren't kidding: this PC goes from 0 to desktop in less than 10 seconds. It's disgustingly fast and it scares me. Plus Chrome, the Office applications and basically everything else take half a second to launch and be responsive. I'm using it just for Windows, non-gaming software and Guild Wars 2. Regarding the "old school" drives, I decided not to put them in RAID 0 after reading several articles and forum posts advicing against it on the internet; instead I went with one drive for games and the other for everything else (documents, videos, music, downloads, all that stuff).

Yeah, I know the location's all messed up, but there's nowhere else to put it at the moment. I'll find somewhere more comfortable one of these days.

I'm officially dropping MGS V for now (mission 20). I'm at the point where I should force myself to play it. And after 50 hours, those interesting little details on the gameplay just can't interest me anymore.

I had good times with the game though, no regrets.
The game really picks up its pace during the 20s though. I would suggest you play a couple more main missions because I thought the game was pretty slow up until that point.

Congrats! SSD is an essential upgrade. Did you get an aftermarket heatsink and overclock your CPU?

Thanks! No, I never dared overclocking any CPU and I'm definitely not going to start now with this expensive rig :/

Besides, it's so fast that there's no need to do it at this moment. Perhaps in a few years, but overclocking is something that always scared me.

Nice. NOW BUILD THIS!!!

I'd love to start upgrading again but I know that I'll hardly ever use it to play games on it exclusively. My PC is now my game collecting / anime watching / porn loving machine instead.
I clicked the link, but immediately closed the tab after reading the bolded. Wouldn't want to get fired from my new job, at least not until I finish paying the graphics card and monitor :p
