I can't fathom how people choose story over gameplay, I probably never will.

or you can have both good by playing Trails, so there is that.

I also should make a list of steamgafers that have no Suikoden and Trails in their list.

Yeah to me this is a different issue to the usual "get these shitty asset flips off Steam" complaint. The existence of a game calling itself Suicide Simulator crosses a line that makes me uncomfortable and worry that a vulnerable person would come across it.

Judging by the video the only "shocking" thing about the game seems to be the name.

The "various ways" to commit suicide in that game seem to be "jumping from a cliff", "lighting yourself on fire", "running into a grenade". Somehow all gameplay that modern AAA games have.

all my loli wolf companions are so moe
I think the core of the problem is that the game shouldn't have been existed in the first place.

What's the point of the new Steam curation system that replaced Greenlight if this kind of games could still slip in to the store? Or was that actually unrelated?

I think it's more hilarious that no one actually has heard of the game until then, and like a festering pimple people jump into it like some opportunity.

steam reviews are annoying me lately, it seems they have lost all meaning.

I talked about my problems with giving bad reviews because a game didnt run for you (that doesnt help me know if the game is good because for me it runs fine), but I can understand that, but with the rise of review bombs as a "tool", or the fact that every fucking anime titty game has instant positive reviews because its tittie, just makes the whole thing meaningless.

What if the anime titty games are good?

The Hokuto no Ken 2018 game is looking friggin' awesome, there's even a minigame where you get to be Post Apocalyptic Japanese Jesus.

it seems to be back in my library too, not labeled as complimentary though

It should be marked as complimentary (vs retail/cd-key) on account details

That's how games unrevoked by Valve appear.

That new Steam thread got me to remove a few tags from my Steam experience. I also got rid of Videos, Software, and VR (no set yet). My homepage is now spotless. So fresh and so clean.

then we have a very different definition of what good is, which is fine I guess, but Steam (and Steamgaf sometimes) is making me fall hard on the "anime was a mistake" camp, and thats coming who used to be huge anime fan.

how do you do that?

It's not working for me sometimes though. Some titles slip through even if the tag should trigger it to disappear.

You can specifically disable games with nudity by toggling checkbox with "disable nudity" option right before tags field.

I slowly come to the realization that some people somehow hate the Steam store because it shows "trash anime games" along with asset-flips and put them in the same category.

And it's not coming to PC right?
Unless it was announced while I wasn't looking?
Thanks SEGA!

Some people are happy to push buttons on the machine and see what lights up. Others need the veneer of context to cover up the gears.

This is why I need my porn games translated. If only SakuraGames would put some effort into it.

There is a game inspired by Fantasy General and released in 2007, it's called Fantasy Wars - http://store.steampowered.com/app/63900/Fantasy_Wars/ 10 years ago i tried to play it but dropped it quickly after first missions, because it was too freaking hard for me even on lowest difficulty. Currently I'm trying to replay it, and oh boy, this game is still insanely hard. I managed to beat first 2 campaigns on easy difficulty, had to make few weeks pause before last campaign missions because they demanded no casualties while fighting against x5 more hordes of enemies, but i did it after several tries. Recently i started last, 3rd campaign, and holy shit, that's some absolutely insane level of difficulty, literally every mission is like last missions from previous campaigns. I'm suck at tactics, but i can beat strategy games when i really want to - but i can't even imagine how it's possible to complete 90% of missions in this game with Gold score, AI have no mercy even on easy difficulty and never miss opportunity to fuck you over.

So I have some weird issue where Steam has "missing file privileges" on certain game .exes, and I discovered that deleting the locked file lets the update normally procede OK. But I have also just discovered that it can sometimes cause an endless update loop.

So if y'all ever have a game trapped in a weird update loop (where the update is downloaded and it's just doing the disk thing to apply the changes to the game, going from 0 to 100% and back again) and it just won't stop... simply restart your computer. This is also the solution to missing file privileges.

I should really figure out why this happens some time.

I completed Elven Legacy a looong time ago, it was an flawed Fire Emblem-y sort of game IIRC. Had interesting roleplaying/multiple path stuff, and cool units. I think it's from the same developer. The expansion packs were way too hard for me and I had to drop it.

They were neat games, worth playing for a few bucks. But with Age of Wonders 3 is better in every conceivable way, it's hard not to recommend just putting those dollars towards it instead. It is a much beefier, more polished, and more fun product.

I definitely bought it especially since I'm subscribed to the Humble Monthly. It's funny, I never played NES Ducktales before and my childhood revolved around the NES era.

You're completely allowed to just whiff one one every now and then. Ducktales was a staple game growing up for me. Haven't been back to play it but I remember it just firing on all cylinders.

Weirdly, my whiff was a little later in the SNES gen. Loved FF2. Didn't hate Mystic Quest (be gone haters.) Knocked out most Chrono Trigger endings. Dumped a ton of time doing the absurd things you had to do in Ogre Battle to get the legendary sword to give to the person to do the thing on the remote tiny part of the map for an ending.

Didn't even try to play Final Fantasy III, NA numbering. It wasn't until much later that I went back and played it. I have no good reason why, but I'm sure it plays into why FF2 > FF3 to me.

Yes Fantasy Wars and Elven Legacy were made by same developer, Ino:Co. Moreover, it's actually the same series and universe - this games were originally published in RU/CIS region under "Codex of War" title. After publishing on the west market for some reason first game got Fantasy Wars name, while first standalone expansion got name Elven Legacy. So, after all titles change fuckery, this is what we have now:

Fantasy Wars - first game in series, "Codex of War", released in 2007
Elven Legacy - first expansion to "Codex of War", originally "Codex of War: Elven", released in 2007
Elven Legacy: Ranger - second expansion to "Codex of War", originally "Codex of War: Ranger", released in 2008
Elven Legacy: Siege - third expansion to "Codex of War", released in 2008
Elven Legacy: Magic - fourth expansion to "Codex of War", released in 2009

Anyone played Shiness?

Was looking for an affordable RPG (that I dont own) on humble before the sale ends.

I asked for impressions several times in different places, apparently it was completely ignored and reviews on steam even if positive mention that it is a flawed game, so IDK.
Probably just will wait until it's dirt cheap and see for myself.

I am watching the ACG review on youtube, it looks pretty good for 15 bucks. I think I will bite.

Just imagine if From Software released a PS4 exclusive game called Suicide Simulator. I bet that thing would crowned as the greatest game ever and win GAF goty.

They already made that for the PS3, and it's called Demon's Souls!

The first thing you see in the hub is a bunch of people deliberately falling to their death.

It's a nice giveaway, but why do you and many others separate dlcs from the main game?

Probly because these keys came from bundles like Bundlestars where they have the base game and DLC with individual keys. I believe it's only one Key per entry. Sure, the person giving them away can put up a message thru ModBot like "hit me up if you want the complete package" but that's really up to the person raffling them off. Most of the time, people just want to get rid of their keys they aren't going to use.
