Samsung TV's Steam In-home streaming capability got me thinking: why doesn't Valve team up with MS or Sony and develop Steam streaming app on consoles? Heck, Steam app exclusivity could even turn the tide of a console war.

Edit: The loophole does have its legitimate uses, too. I myself recommend that people use Offline Mode when first launching a game (or after authentication in cases where Denuvo needs to be assuaged) as then any fiddling they need to do doesn't count against the two-hour window.

I'm kinda tempted to upgrade my PC. I don't think 8gb of ddr3 will be cutting it soon, and I don't want to buy more ddr3 to upgrade it.

I'm in the same boat. Well, not exactly, but kind of. I want a new cpu, but for that I would need new mobo and ram as well. I guess I technically could get a better haswell cpu, but that's just not a great idea at all. Maybe if I could get one used or something, but eh.

edit: Or Broadwell-E, I think those were on same socket. 6c/12t would certainly be a nice bump, but I don't even know if my mobo supports it to be honest.
edit2: Actually Broadwell-E might be ddr4 anyway, so it's a moot point.

I think used i7 4790K with (i think no need for OC immediately, -with Turbo boost 4790K 4.4ghz already- also your motherboard and CPU fan should be decent) extra 8GB ram should be enough for 60fps gaming for a long time. Than after 3-4 years you can switch to much better system. 60fps gaming is enough for me and if necessary i can reduce some graphics setting to medium/high for achieve that. You need to act according to your needs and wishes for sure.

Haswell-E and Broadwell-E are both 2011-pin families. You can't move from Haswell to Haswell-E or Broadwell-E, but you can move from Haswell-E to Broadwell-E (not that there's any point in doing so since the latter doesn't overlock as well, which more or less negates its IPC improvements).

I went from a 2600K to a 6800K last year but kindasorta wish I'd stuck with the former for a while longer and waited for the 7820X.

edit2: Actually Broadwell-E might be ddr4 anyway, so it's a moot point.

Yeah, there's no DDR3 support on the X99 (Haswell-E/Broadwell-E) platform.

Hopefully they do, good luck. If you do, I recommend installing the TheWorse Mod to restore a bunch of graphical effects that had been removed, as well as making a few fixes.

I also recommend picking up the Bad Blood DLC if it ever goes on a decent sale. Amazing DLC, better than the base game.

For the same reason Switch doesn't have NV streaming: platform holders want people to buy games on their platform. The hardware isn't the point, it's just a way to make that happen.

Offering a way to play games from other platforms works directly against that.

Exactly. Otherwise Microsoft wouldnt have bothered: Xbox One would allow full fledged Windows use to enjoy the vast PC library. It doesnt. Because they want people to buy on their ecosystem, subscribed to their service.

Purchase date is only one part of the equation. Playtime hasn't been ignored since the end of 2015.

tough game to give a definite scoring to, it's clearly the result of conflicting designs, of a very story driven telltale game trapped in a gta world that sometimes has really long and boring firefights and car chases and climbing and other sorts of nonsense

and it's a shame cos the telltale parts aren't perfect either. the truth, doubt, lie system is broken beyond repair, with lack of proper dialogue options leading you to guess more often than not and have to painfully deal with the consequences of guessing. sometimes you charge someone but because you got one reply wrong you charged the wrong guy and you get yelled by your boss who apparently knew who the guilty guy was. or sometimes key evidence is impossible to see in the black and white mode and idk, your case is ruined. and even when it works, cos going through evidence and piecing the case together is pretty enjoyable, it's still repetitive as hell, the game rarely deviates from the formula and after you've done case 3 you've done them all

there's like 20 cases in the game and while i think they're all mostly interesting, the game does drag on in the middle part, when some of the earlier plot threads lose relevance as the game ramps up for the finale. in its defense, it pays off, the final few cases just tie all loose ends and deliver satisfying conclusions to pretty much every character, for better or for worse. phelps actually gets to do a couple likeable things even tho i still think his character is kinda dumb (super by the book but always searches people's homes without having warrant and often resorts to threats, even against the victims and frequently violent). then there's the kelso bits, which are probably my favorite part of the game since kelso is actually a really relatable character that kind of fantastically wraps it all up

there's many other flaws in the story, i don't like phelps' family only showing up as a plot device for him

, and i think the game pretends that being a period piece means it gets to show every horrible part of that time without having a position about it (or when it does, it's a pretty shitty position), but as a detective story, i kind of love it, and i really enjoy the surrounding parts, the music specially, but also just playing it in black and white and the title cards and the slow, methodical story structure and whatnot. it's just neat.

i kind of like la noire, i think in the end it delivering of telling a cool detective noir story, even if it fumbled everything else, and while you won't feel like an ace detective solving murders with your smarts and wits, it's still a stylish, fun ride to go along with

a no open world, all story, non trash controls sequel, i wouldn't say no to. i don't even need it to be a much better detective game, her story is probably gonna be hard to top for the end of times, i just dig this setting a whole bunch

also this got me thinking, i'd go for a telltalte true detective game

i mean, can't be worse than season 2
