No NG+, what year is this? It seems you feel the same way about this game as I do Tomb Raider 2013. I'm a curious bastard, though, so I'll probably end up getting it when it's cheap(er), then I won't feel bad if it's a crap game. My Strider 2 copy is always there for me to go back to.

Any of the first three games in the Blackwell series (Legacy, Unbound, Convergence) take 2-3 hours to finish, and the fourth is about 5 hours. Terrific series, and when it comes to point and clicks if it's not in the "must play" category it's damned close.

Cognition episode 1 is 5 hours. Machinarium is 5 hours. Solid, solid games.

Fester Mudd episode 1 and Lilly Looking Through are both 2 hours. Also not bad. I'll vouch for them, but get Lilly on sale because that non-sale asking price is steep.

I'm leaving 5 hours as my cap. So those are some good point and clicks for your time.

In terms of other games, if you haven't played Thomas Was Alone, there's that too.

Any must play games that are only a few hours long? Just finished Jazzpunk and I'm looking for something else that might be easy to clear from the backlog.

Not a must play by any means, but I really enjoyed Year Walk (Impressions by Grief)
You can play completely through it in about 90 minutes I guess, but if you want to 100% it, it'll probably take 3-4 hours.
Note that there isn't really anything happening until you figure out what you have to do in the beginning.

I'd also recommend the Puzzle Agent games, because I loved the weird story behind them, but some of the puzzles are quite dull. (Impressions by me). Take about 3 hours each.

Whispering Willows also only takes about 3 hours to 100%. Neat little game, though it has its faults. (Impressions by BinaryPork2737)

Speaking of, maybe I should give that a shot -- or one of the other VNs I have on Steam -- I could probably clear those pretty simply and it might be a nice change of pace.
As for Puzzle Agent, I started one of them once upon a time... and it reminded me of the Professor Layton DS games, in a very good way. I just haven't gone back to work through them... OCD makes those types of games a bit of a nightmare, because I get frustrated if I use a hint or didn't get maximum points on the puzzle and I have to go back and try to solve them after I've finally made sure I understand the answer (if I didn't get it right).
I'll take note about Whispering Willows and Year Walk and put them on the short list, yakkue darling.

How long to play through RE:R, Remember Me, and Banner Saga -- Ningen was trying to get me to go through those titles after playing them recently himself.
The one difference is that if it's something where I'd be focused on the achievements, I'll end up with longer playtimes than most. Not that I'll necessarily go for all of them, but -- for example -- when I looked at the MP3 achievements and saw how many playthroughs were required to get 100% of the single player achievements, it slid down the backlog and I went with Bioshock Infinite instead (great game!) and have now done 95% of the main game, 100% on both Burial at Sea Episodes, and I cut myself off there and threw it in the achievement cleanup category I have for 1999 mode and the CitC content someday.

Final Fantasy 13 might actually be nice to check the new rig, game looked gorgeous on PS3 tbh. And im buying it on GMG with the voucher sooner or later, I just keep forgeting.

Im not buying BL Presequel for full price, as much as I loved the first game, the second didnt do much for me. And I never got into any Civ so I dont think ill start with this one.

Dragon Age isnt on steam so meh. Unless it turns out amazing, im not bothering with Origin (please PLEASE lets not get into that)

Alien is all you need. Aliens is also great, but the game is definitely in the vein on the original film.

The third Dark Souls 2 dlc is much better than the second (which I thought had some absolutely awful miscues involving "gauntlets") but I still think the first was the best of the set. I definitely think it was one of most worthwhile season passes I've been suckered into purchasing. The various dlc don't do anything to address people's problems with the main game, but they do a few interesting things and have provided some really memorable encounters that I'm glad I stuck around for. In the latest dlc everything leading up to the battle with the final boss of the area I thought was really damn cool. The optional area and boss, not so much.

DS2 now sits as my third most played steam game. Doubt I will put much of anything more into it except for the occasional co-op session; I've had my fill.

So I get to dive into SoM tomorrow and will hopefully get some neat experiences with the Nemesis system. The stories people have been sharing are super fun to read.

Well since you have to use an unofficial driver for the DS3 to even work with anything I'm pretty sure that games only detect if you're using a DS4 to switch prompts since it works as a standard d-input controller without installing anything else.
