About that Uplay update. Is there still no easy way to link to a game from steam that you only have on uplay?
In other words if you you didn't buy through Steam can you get it to show in your library. Last time I tried it seemed messy.
I had a lot of fun, never played the original though.Did you like a remake?
3. Choose installed Uplay game from list and click "add selected programs".
Or did you mean something else?
Last time I tried that it just loaded Uplay and not the game itself. Maybe thats not the case anymore, will have to try again and see when I get the chance.
tell me moar! especially about saving, can you save everywhere, dungeons included?
Save system changed
The original save system in Pier Solar for MD/Genesis was designed with an idea in mind, to prevent the player from cheating the game by save/load/walk/save/load/walk to prevent encounters, etc. The way it worked originally was: Save anywhere but load will bring you to the last "door" that you crossed. This caused a lot of confusion among the players who would walk around, open a chest, save, and then when they loaded the chest was closed and they didn't have their new items/xp/gold that they had when they saved. So now PSHD switched to a more traditional save model of using save points. The save points were carefully placed on each town, and also on each dungeon where it would be beneficial to the player. That doesn't mean every dungeon has a save point but those who do, well... you better save.
In addition to the save points Lossa can do what Pier Solar for MD/Genesis used to do, with its auto-save function. This means that if you enable auto-save, for every door you cross in a dungeon, lossa will save a "checkpoint" for you, so if you lose you will go back to that point rather than on the last save point. Very handy.
I just tried it with Blacklist and it just loads Uplay, not the game. Notice that fancy new banner when you load up Uplay, it links back to Steam.
When we are playing: Estimate Time
There's a fan-made patch that makes it run fine. I'd be OK with that port being released on Steam, provided it comes with the patch.MGS 1 was already on PC
And runs like shit on new computers btw
Hey guys, a reminder that I'm organising another DOTA2 night for tomorrow, at an earlier time for the UK chaps.
How does this work? I'd like to play.

I can take a reserve slot if nobody else turns up. Like last week. ;w;

Participating in the 52 Games 1 Year Challenge that MRORANGE created was a great way to make me want to finish games in my backlog, it's really fun
Next year you should definitely participate in it(I mean, you can participate in it now if you want, but you'd probably have to be speedy gonzales to finish 36 more games before the year ends.
That's one point less than DA2Looks like the reviews are coming in for Alien: Isolation and it's looking pretty positive. PCGamer gave it a 93. You may now get hype.

hey hey...last week was fun, my first time with techies - too bad we lost lol
Sorry I wasn't there. I was at 11 and waited around until 11:30 but no lobby was made so I went to sleep
I was already on a mission, but that thread helped me get over the hump! Currently sitting at 66 myself and i'm a good 17 hours into VLR. Funny when a VN takes longer than about 2/3s of the other games I've played this year.

The review scores are all over the place!
Well, I'm organising the game for an earlier time, given how many UK players we got last time. So are you still interested?
Right grumpy old man post time! A review score tells me nothing on it own. All it does it say is if someone liked, was indifferent or didn't like a title but never answers the pertinent question and that is why. Doesn't help when the majority of the review threads that pop up on here are just a list out outlets and their corresponding score with no quote for context. It's useless information unless it's just to seek validation or affirmation on a prepurchase you made.'Oh so and so says this is good so phew that preorder wasn't a waste of time' is the feeling I get from browsing most review threads when all things fall into place for them but it's fucking anarchy when it doesn't meet the arbitrary score they have set out in their heads for a game they haven't even played.

Can't this Saturday I'm afraid. Got plans. But I do want to get in on one of these hopefully soon.

Really wish they'd fix the sound/audio and add an option so that Kamikazing your Slug is done ith a button. Hate destroying that thing while holding Shot then jumping =_=
Right grumpy old man post time!

so its a review threadNot sure if you're talking about the Alien Review thread or not, but I just gave it a glance and man is it a painful read. Essentially stroking those who reviewed it well while also slandering/discrediting those who scored it low.
Read at your own risk.
I did, my friend, I did.edited: Turfster mode on: When I posted about Pillars of Eternity delayed nobody bothered to read it.
Remember Uncharted 3's? That was truly something! Not sure if you're talking about the Alien Review thread or not, but I just gave it a glance and man is it a painful read. Essentially stroking those who reviewed it well while also slandering/discrediting those who scored it low.

Sorry. I would have linked to the review but it's blocked at my work, derp. It's on PCGamers site though and there's a review thread here
a review score gives a "overall" grade on a game though. as for the second part.. its probably due to the hype train.
Well from the little 5-10 minutes I glanced over reviews and neogaf reaction, seems like a poster summarized pretty well : to some reviewers the game is too long for its own good and the alien AI being too unpredictable, mixed with a classic save-point system makes the game too hard.
Now that's a gross summary of the negative reviews and parts of these elements will be positive to some people.
I can totally see a game based on a brilliant idea but not meaty enough to support 15 hours though.
while not perfect tells me an awful lot more and took as much work to copy and past than grabbing a review score. It gives me a taste of the reviewers experience and has a link to go read the review. This isn't a condemnation on how things go with review threads here but there's a big hook up on review scores and not the reviews themselves and it happens bloody everywhere. Just read the comments on any site that has a review, sometimes it's entertaining in itself.

Touche.
Guess it's been a while since I read one that had such polarized press opinions to draw from. It makes some poster's agenda stick out so blatantly. "X-site scored it low, I never liked them anyway." "This guy scored it well, and I only trust his reviews."
So sad.

Fair enough, I'm hoping to make these a weekly occurrence, so you'll have the opportunity soon I hope.
No you guys all miss my point. 93 tells me nothing, How on earth do you quantify your enjoyment in a number? It's massively different and varied for a lot of reason and even more so person to person but the conclusion that leads to the score and not the score itself is the most important factor. So while 93 does tell me that the reviewer enjoyed the game using this...
while not perfect tells me an awful lot more and took as much work to copy and past than grabbing a review score.
If some reviewers tries to compare it to Halo 4 or CoD and writes something about "Press A to awesome would be good in that game", I wonder if you should take such a review seriously...
Oh totally, I wasn't trying to discuss your point, just putting a gross summary for those that haven't read the reviews.
Anyone beat shadows of mordor yet ?
Says there's only. 20 styory missions is that true? Just feels odd the point I'm at doesn't feel like end game. The last mission must be long or something.
Shadownet beat it. Search for his post
