Ill do it when I get back.
After 18 hours, I finally finished Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor, 100%. I don't think I ever played a game non-stop like this before. I just couldn't put it down. There are some minor flaws, overall it's wonderful. But I think in the end this game accomplished what it set out to do. Great job Monolith, you got yourself a winner here. I'm very satisfied with this game.
The best part is the fact that numbers are completely arbitrary, no magazine or site has such thing as like a detailed scale of what each point is supposed to mean, and everyone, both gamers and reviewers alike, all know that the above is true but gamers still pretend like they believe numbers are everything. It's such a silly charade.

Driveclub and Bloodborne Alpha on the same day. Awww yisss.
Is there still a way to get into the Bloodborne Alpha?
Pow! I believe the general consensus is that it is quite short if you critical path it. But if you play around with the nemesis system then it can take any amount of time.
Did you receive the first Bloodborne Alpha mail which just gave you the chance to get in?
Ok makes sense then. Thanks for that.
Yeah I'm just going for the story. Currently at 8 hours which is still good for that sort of thing. Mission 18 definitley liking it though.
Has The Elder Scrolls Online ever been a thing?
Nope.Has The Elder Scrolls Online ever been a thing?

Since the update yesterday. It looks disgusting.Wait what, how long has the client had that dirt/splashes in the chrome?
It was enough a thing to make this mildly funny meme and then was forgotten forever by everyone

Forgotten: check
Often on sale: check
Low user: don't know, anyone can fill me on it?
I smell f2p is coming.
I don't wanna brag, but it appears like I own a game that JaseC doesn't
But it's not Wheelman :'(
I'd highly recommend just screwing around a bit. The story is probably the most derivative and boring part of the game. Doing stuff with the nemesis system is so much fun. I just keep doing all the vendetta missions to avenge my fallen brothers and having a ton of fun.
I hope this is the first released UE4 game that shows a little of its potential (Daylight was just a shame and that doesn't even desreve UE4 slogan for it).
It wouldn't surprise me. They used UE3 in the past and Styx looks exactly like Of Orcs and Men.Isn't it running on Unreal Engine 3?
I'm trying to be a sensible individual in a review thread. Why do i torture myself like this? No one wants to have a reasonable discussion in those threads, freedom, stop it.
Resurrection is better than Alien 3.
Let's have a look....
Abandon all hope.
GOD DANG IT, I NEED TO SELL YOU GUYS ON SILENCE OF THE SLEEP. It's really, really good so far. I need to mention it again.
No seriously, I literally think this is the best horror game I've played so far this year out of all the indie horror Steam releases. It's really, really good and a good bit unique, but very well executed. Some great art direction and audio design with a developer who's made something that is both interesting, and actually scaring me a few times, and avoiding pitfalls indie horror games usually fall in. It really starts picking up at chapter 2.

Yep, it is great, Neverending Nightmares was a bit disappointing but now this game comes around the corner and is surprisingly good. Reminds me a lot of the old Silent Hill.
Not sure if you're talking about the Alien Review thread or not, but I just gave it a glance and man is it a painful read. Essentially stroking those who reviewed it well while also slandering/discrediting those who scored it low.
Read at your own risk.
This is why I like the thumbs up / down / ~ thing Steam uses, as it will only provide the most basic of indications for the game along with the total reviews involved, while I can then simply flick through reviews in full for a better indication and clear understanding of just how subjective the reviews are and I can disregard joke posts. Far more useful than IGN - "Amazing", then look up the review to find you have no idea of where the quote was taken from. Perhaps it was from the sentence "It is amazing how bad this game is"?!
Yeah reviews don't mean poo to me only when they are able to point out serious flaws within a game, and real flaws not the ones were said reviewer doesn't know how to play. Sure they provide a so called baseline of the game, but we all like different things. Someone who hates tower defense games is already going to have a negative mindset when giving a review of that genre. It really helps validate the idea that they didn't fuck when purchasing a game. I know I've felt this way before when I've pre ordered something.

I once gave an unexpected game a 10/10, partially because it genuinely was fucking fantastic, but also partially to mess with people's expectations. The issue came out and, to no one's surprise, all of our readers lost their goddamn minds because "only certain games deserve certain scores". Yet I still haven't learned that people (or at least vocal forum denizens) pretty much only read reviews to confirm their own opinions, as opposed to actually learning anything about the game, and it still catches me off guard.
And that's just it, you're not going to change the process of how reviews are going to be scored, metered, compared or quantified but you could just read the context of said review and make your own judgement.Read the review, ignore the score. Magically unbroken.
That's exactly my stance on it. Neverending Nightmares wasn't terrible, it was okay, but very disappointing. But Silence of the Sleep may be the best horror game to have released this year, I really enjoyed Claire and DreadOut (and both are very underlooked), but I think this may be the better game. It does have a lot of Silent Hill vibes in the best possible way though.
Hmm, it seems so, I read before that in some sites that they used UE4, but seeing trailers and screens, I recognized ll UE3 assets and effects (limited ones). Wikipedia also states it uses UE3. Shame on them.
Why? They're not a big studio, and they probably started work on this game ages ago.Shame on them.
Wishlisted this, looks pretty cool.

If they paid for an engine and have experience in using it, it would be crazy to switch to a new one halfway through production.
I'm actually glad they're using UE3, because otherwise I wouldn't be able to run it!
Sajjaja, a long time ago.Anyone also plays games with less than 720p?
I thought we all did and just pretended to play at 1080p and higher so that we could smack down other platforms in the numbers game.Anyone also plays games with less than 720p?

The dialog is also written well. I still need to try Claire and DreadOut, shoud put it on the wishlist.

Yup, for me to find out where the story is going but the dialog is interesting and the story is as well. The characters also have a fun, Lynchian sort of style to them. The Red Tie Man so far has been what has intrigued me the most. I haven't finished the game, only got to Chapter 3 Day 1.
But I am going to mention this game now as it is unknown right now but I honestly do think it may be one of the indie horror greats, one that has totally surpassed my expectations on it.
Yeah, no.
It's not the acquisition of UE4 that's the problem, it's having to retrain the new pipeline and redo assets and code for it. Games don't magically look better because you're using a newer engine, you know, it takes hard work =p
Devs change engines for their own needs. There is literally no way Epic could account for all of that in a conversion tool. So no, it actually is a big hurdle.Epic released tools and plugins to instantly port UE3 content to UE4. You bring your game content from UE3 to UE4 and very few clicks you convert your game to use UE4 assets with no big hurdle. Ok it won't look as good as a game built from scratch with UE4, but still it can benefit from the additions and make it look better. Also going from UE3 to UE4 is not a big difficulty for those used to work on UE3.
