Hey so I shouldn't buy Mortal Kombat for $5 right? Because my roommate bought it for my PS3 and it runs really poorly because my PS3 is old. And it's not like I played Mortal Kombat as a child right? It's not a super fun game right?

I want to buy it.

It's a fun game, netcode sucks though. Definitely worth 5$.

Welp these are conflicting. I've never really played that many fighting games and I want to get more into it. I suppose I will buy Smash when it comes out. I also have KOF XIII now so I should probably get good at that game and save my money for Smash.

Edit: I also want to try Ultra Street Fighter IV but it looks expensive still.

It kinda depends on your experience with fighting games. I couldn't really get into it, because you have to memorize so many combinations, time everything etc. It's not a pick-up-and-play kind of deal like, say Super Smash Bros.

I wanted one fucking thing out of TGS, and they didn't announce a big screen version of MH4. Instead there are shitty promo crossovers and fucking felyne costumes.

Real salty about that one.

I played resident evil 6 in local co-op for the first time yesterday, oh boy. The splitscreen setup uses like 70% of the available screenspace only, Halo 3 all over again.

Mortal Kombat 9 for $5? That is a total steal and you'll get your money's worth from the insane and elaborate story mode alone, imo.

I actually don't have that one game with a lot of hours clocked in like those jrpg days, I guess my gaming habits have changed compared to when I was on consoles.

I'm planning to play through ff13 entirely though and might even give those hunts a go this time around, although unlikely.

Skip cutscenes, grind at the Behemoth in Ch. 11 for a couple of hours, do as much of the Cie'th Stone battles as you can, then progress the story.

I needed some opinions badly, thanks! my only worry is the build quality but I guess I can replace the thumbsticks down the road, I'll try to find a compatible BT dongle and be done with it.

Not only the analog sticks (still) have durability problems (besides rubber wearing off mine aren't moving 100% smooth anymore and I haven't played all that much), my triggers started to squeak badly and some others are reporting complete failure. Also the battery life is almost embarassing.

Not everyone is having quality problems of course, more impressions: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=898301

Ah, finally. The full version of Defence Grid 2.

Pretty brilliant kickstarter, one that just kept giving.

I started WoW with school mates of mine, but stopped at approx. level 37 because I was bored.

I was lucky (or not considering the outcome :D ) I started it with a bunch of friends, none of us interested in pro playing, but just casual and fun stuff.
We formed a guild very early and quickly found out that our server was full of other people not interested in endgame loot, 40 people raids and other shit, just wanting to play for fun. And mine was one of the very few guilds purely for fun (or at least, we were the only one non-trolling oriented).
So basically after a little bit WoW became my goto place for chatting and laughing. Like, if I hadn't a girlfriend at the time, I could have easily uninstalled MSN. :D

In the end we became one of the most famous guilds of the server, even with NO real objective fulfilled (like, when I was guild master, we really struggled in Zul Gurub, we never got to Molten Core and fun fact, our best DPS was a chinese farmer who didn't speak a word of English and couldn't play between like 22PM and 6AM because apparently his village was forced to black out. Basically, our raids always consisted in 2 hours of super serious prepping just to see everything go awry at the first pull of the instance. :D
So, you know, in many ways it became a funnier version of real life.

Of course, thankfully at some point I got hired and slowly I decreased my playing time, I gave away my guild master role to the other founder of the guild, and eventually I quit and gifted my whole account to a friend of mine to avoid any possible relapse.

All in all, though, those literal months were probably my favourite months I've ever spent playing games. I hate Blizzard for basically ruining my life, but still, what a great game.

I reached the porno disco on AVGN on Hard, this game is too difficult, sometime because of a bad design. On the disco you can't understand what is the background and what is the level.
Also I have only two continues, I think I will die soon and then I will drop the game because I have no joy to restart it from the beginning.
Every time I waste all my lives in those disappearing blocks.

I came to that conclusion after the first level. It feels like they actually wanted to implement the bad design of the game he played. No thanks.

What do you get from the Behemoth? I played through it once on ps3 but didn't really grind or anything since I usually reach the cap of the crystal thing near the end of each chapter, but I never grinded for weapon upgrades and stuff (I actually don't quite understand it lol).

I tried it a few times because that was like the only game my friends like to play outside of ffxi (which I liked but stopped playing due to it being huge time sink), and I always get bored of it. Maybe I was just unlucky with the community but people I met aren't exactly playful with the dungeon finder thing, it's often people whining about drops or complaining that his life sucks because n00bs aren't blasting through the dungeon efficiently (although this isn't bad with 1 or 2 friends but usually people are awfully quiet and when people open their mouths it's usually garbage).

The grinding gets especially worse once you get to northrend and I've never actually run into any one other than in the few towns with chat spams, even though it's an MMO, I rarely need anybody's help and most content are solo focused and a bore to do.

Does anyone have problems posting screenshots of non-Steam games to the activity feed?
I'm playing Diablo 3 and it brings up a message something along the lines of "This application is not public yet," which doesn't let me upload screens to activity, but uploads it to some private cloud or some shit.

I used to be able to but now it's not working.

I've had the same problem as well recently, with Crysis 3.

Football Manager 2014 - 140 hours
Football Manager 2012 - 107 hours
Football Manager 2013 - 63 hours
Borderlands 2 - 51 hours
Bioshock Infinite - 28 hours

are my top five. I would have more than any of those put into Diablo 3. I usually just play a game, finish it and move on. Football Manager always drags me in for ages.

so, what's y'alls most played game?

mine's ultra sfiv at 140 hours

And I only bought it for € 4.99.

Not on Steam:
- Crysis 1 MP (yes, that MP was amazing. Big open maps with vehicles. Didn't have a major hacker issue for more than a year after release.)
- Followed by BF3.

Edit: To jump on the bandwagon:

Grinding like that is VERY time consuming.
The Behemoth in Ch. 11 nets you something like 6,600 CP per battle, spend a few hours there and you'll be able to max out your main Crystarium path making later battles easier.
This enemy respawns after a few seconds and you can just put 2-3 hours there and be strong enough to finish most Cie'th Stone battles faster.

Should've gotten Killer is Dead instead *sips his coffee*

Yeah no. I watched the GB QL and that's all I needed to know about that game.
If you tell me now it's amazing I might reconsider but from what I've seen I doubt I would enjoy that game

Edit: Since everybody does it and I'm afraid to not follow the leader:

I feel like I should say that I played A LOT more of Civ V with friends who.....uhhh didn't have the "Steam Copy".

Dota 2 at 1400hrs.

It isn't that much compared to most other players and I guess that I'm above average at best in terms of time spent (but maybe the influx of new players has lowered the average). However I'm currently heavily burned out on this game and haven't touched it for about 2 weeks now with each day adding to my personal record :)

i dont think its a very big file size :p

Yeah, it was smaller than I thought. Although I have a bad connection and it was slowed down by my family doing their things, so it took a bit more (when they stopped, the download speed went up 2-3 times).

And it didn't help at all. ;_;

It's a simple action game with slick visual style, and a story that was written while on acid (in a good whacko way!). You don't have to do gigolo missions unless you want the extra weapons, the game in itself can be completed by simply doing the main mission chapters.

Tempy

don't ask me for codes
Playtimes? Playtimes.

* Left 4 Dead 2 (696)
* Team Fortress 2 (257) - Most of this is idling though.
* RPG Maker VX Ace (206) - I've left this open overnight a few times.
* Fallout: New Vegas (133)
* Left 4 Dead (113)
* Chivalry (95)
* Terraria (77)
* XCOM: Enemy Unknown (70)
* Saints Row: The Third (43)

TronLight

Everybody is Mikkelsexual

I regret nothing but Skyrim and Borderlands. So much wasted time that could have been spent on better games.

Dragon Age will probably get into 100hrs because I'm playing Awakening now. It also includes a 15 playthrough that got erased.

Fuck this shit. Was prepared to make a video for NoLimits Rollercoaster Simulator 2. But the game is so slow and buggy that I could not get pass the loading. ANd the game costs over 30€.

Thanksfully it was a review code. If I bought it and could not get a refund I would sue the hell out of Valve/developer/publisher/whatever.

I don't care about the Giggolo thing too much but the comat just seemed incredibly mindless and boring while the rest of the game just seemed to be "weird to be weird"
