I'm considering giving my password to a friend so that he changes it until the sales are over, but it would be like cheating. My goal is to buy nothing this time.

I just finished surrendering my wallet to the GOG.com summer sale. :O
There's a couple games on Steam I would definitely buy if they went on sale but I won't be as trigger happy as I am with GOG.

EXCITE!

Just put a GPU into my gf's prebuilt desktop so I'm looking at picking up all the co-op staples like torchlight 2 and borderlands 2 goty. Hoping to save enough that I can still grab D4 and gtav at near full price on the last day, but we'll see.

Hoping for some kind of discount on Witcher 3. Other than that I dont think I will buy anything this time.

GOG has it on sale right now for 10% off so I'm of the belief it's not gonna be much more than that. But it's something.

Man. I'm feeling really jaded towards the Steam sales nowadays. The first year or so it was fantastic, with an incredible engagement with all the meta games, both in Steam and our own treasure hunt here on GAF. Lately I haven't been interested in the slightest, but that might be attributed to me buying all the games I want at launch recently.

First steam sale with refunds. Some amazing drama is coming. I can feel it in me bones.

It is going to be a bloodbath for the devs once people feel like they got too many games and want their money back.

I wonder if people will still follow the rule to only buy during a daily/flash/community sale or just buy stuff right out of the gate knowing they can get the difference back if it goes lower thanks to the refund system in place.

I know I'll just buy like I always have, I don't want to risk being denied, etc.

It still takes a bit for the money to be returned, so it's still a smart idea to wait for the daily deal.

Yeah its more than nothing. :) 10% would probably be enough for me to bite. But want to buy it on steam since I have some money saved up in my wallet.

Anyone think there's a chance of Elder Scrolls Online getting a decent price drop? The console release and some of the things I've been reading about how it's gotten better since launch have made me eager to try it out.

Yep, I'm keeping my eyes on ESO as well.
Hoping for a 50 %off, but I'll still get it at 25%.

I'm in for $100. Just received some for my Steam wallet.
What's the most dramatic drop in price for a game on the first day of the sale vs last day of a sale?

Like last year I'm going to go mega cheapskate and buy interesting titles at € 3,- at most.
So essentially nothing.

I've mean to get Underrail for like two years. I remember passing on it one sale when it was maybe at $6 compared to $10 regularly, then it wasn't on sale the next sale, and now it's two summer sales later and I don't have it because of $4. None of that this year, at least when it comes to indies. If there's something I want and it's on sale at all, it's bought.

D4 is already 10% off plus it's Swery's game. I'd say, don't rely on a sale too much and support him. The dude deserves it.

If I hadn't just gotten my hours significantly cut at work, I'd be all over it. I bought Deadly Premonition on day one for the 360, and day one again when it hit PC.

If it hasn't gotten 25% off by Monday and this upcoming job interview goes well for me, I'll buy it. Until then, my gaming budget is too thin to buy anything that's at just a 10% discount.

think Realm Reborn will get a discount?
been playing the trial version on steam and man its pretty good
that or im realizing the difference between a F2P and P2P MMO

Honestly, what are we expecting the GTA V price drop to be. I'm expecting either 5% or 10%, with a bias towards the former.

Has a publisher on Steam ever intentionally put up a single-digit percentage discount before? I can't imagine it's happened more than a handful of times if at all. You might as well leave the game at full price.

Since people brought up GTA5, a certain someone (me) has a Social Club key for sale in the BST thread that's much lower than it'll be during the summer sale. Yes it's not Steam but it doesn't matter for this game since even the Steam version has to handshake Social Club when launching it.

Hoping for some small stuff.

Best of luck to any of you (relative) newcomers to Steam. You're in for some rough times with the wallet, but at least you can join in on the wonders of backlog!

*Assuming the Steam Sales aren't continuing to decline in quality/have a ton of repeats compared to other sites, as they have seemingly done in the last couple of sales.
