The secret is not to go over 10€ for any game you badly wanted to play. And not over 5€ for any good game that wasn't initially in your field of view (you can take a bit more risks if under 3€).

Oh. I use a "want it", "don't want it" and "kind of want it" scale. It depends on what I feel like playing at the time though since I'll probably not touch it after it's done downloading due to the wait.

Every time the game asks you to pick up a gun and shoot people it turns into a really mediocre game. I love the parkour stuff, but it's just such a shame they had to cram a bunch of crappy FPS combat in there.

The game never asks you to pick up a gun. I didn't fire a single bullet my entire first run through the game.

You're supposed to learn the disarming maneuver instead. If you get it down, it's way faster than anything else. Hard to master it though.

I heard its the same game just with another character. Not true? Whats different?

Dead Rising 2 OTR is just Dead Rising 2 with Frank West as opposed to the Biker guy which name escapes me. Even the story bits are different:

As a reimaigning of Dead Rising 2, there are several changes from the original game. These include:
  • Frank as the player character instead of Chuck. Consequently, the photography system from Dead Rising has been reimplemented.
  • Chuck Greene, as he appears in the original DR2, is the second player in Co-op mode.
  • Interestingly, a modified version of Chuck Greene appears in the game as well, as a slicecycle-riding psychopath. He replaces Leon Bell.
  • Katey Greene does not appear in the game (it is implied that she died in the outbreak, causing her father to go insane). The need to find Zombrex still exists, as Frank requires the anti-zombification medicine for his own survival.
  • Additional content includes "Uranus Zone", a new theme park area in Fortune City, a bonus Case File, and voice messages to accompany the radio calls from the saferoom observer.
  • Stacey has a new face design in this game.
  • Rebecca is TK's captive during Overtime Mode, while in the original it was Katey and Stacey.
  • Chuck the Role Model is now a case file and Brandon Whittaker has a bigger role than just being a psychopath as he is the one to start the outbreak.
  • Some survivors and magazines have been relocated.
  • One of the survivors Jack no longer wears the Arthur helmet as he now wears the Proto Man helmet instead.
  • The Elevator in Yucatan Casino no longer functions and serves no purpose.
  • New survivors and bosses have been added.
  • There are about 15 new combo weapons that either Frank or Chuck can make.
  • Frank learns different hand-to-hand fighting moves. Chuck, in Co-op mode, retains his original ones, which gives the two fighters slightly different fighting styles.
  • Phenotrans soldiers are now added to the game after The Facts case file.
  • The Arthur costume in Dead Rising 2 is replaced by the Proto Man costume.
  • Frank has a different fighting style than Chuck with the majority of the weapons, staying true to the first game's mechanics.

One could just watch YouTube clips of the cutscenes to see the other version, though. OTR is the better game, as it has an "arena mode", in which you can just kill zombies for days.

I hope the Missing Link DLC for Deus Ex:HR goes on sale if HR wins the community vote.

Also, I need steam friends. My friends list is so baron. Steam - kitkatjam23 : )

Is Saints Row 3 really good?

One of the best open-world games this gen. Absurd, genuinely funny and so much fun to play around in.

you should, the missing link is fucking awesome
Does it pick up much after the first hour or so? I didn't really love what I played of the ship level, the most fun I had with the base game was exploring the futuristic hubs and picking up side missions, this seemed to have less of that.

Anyone know of any good games/deals that will most likely not get a daily or flash deal.

Pixeljunk Eden 80% off was a great suggestion. Any more like that?

it's all ship level, you need to take it as a long version of one of those side missions you liked to pick up in the main game, not expecting any sort of hub or more open areas. It does pick up a bit IMO tho.

World of Goo is also on sale until the end of the Summer Sale.
I've got it and Pixeljunk Eden sitting in my wishlist at the moment. How much money I have at the end of this sale will determine whether or not I buy them.

I can't *believe* these lazy developers keep making file sizes so damn large. Btw, how does technology work?
Tell me something about Rage. Why or why shouldn't I buy it?

It's worth $5. It's not worth any more. I bought it for $5 and felt like I "kind of got my money's worth."

Basically, it's the definition of an average game.

Is it bad? No, not at all. But is it good? No, not at all. It just ... "is." It's a game. It'll keep you entertained for a bit with it's average story, average characters, average graphics, average gameplay, average guns, etc.

Like I said, there's nothing terribly wrong with it. But, honestly, during this sale, Steam will have so many much better games discounted to a similar price. So why get the average game, when you can get a great game.

Unless you're out of things to play, you can do better elsewhere. That said, if you do get it, I doubt you'll feel like it was wasted. And if you're in the mood for a shooter, you could do worse.

simply put: its an Id game, so by default it has pretty much the most satisfying shooting this gen, and the goddamn best shotgun. It's just really fun to mix up the combat with different weapons, ammo types, throwables and whatnot. Game encourages that.

also it has great AI, and really great physics and enemy animation. They come from everywhere, they'll hang on walls, climb the ceilings and just attack you from many different places. It does a huge difference when comparing it to other shooters.

other than that: I enjoyed both the setting and the story and characters. People differ in these aspects but pretty much no one denies the shooting being super satisfying.

OK, So I meant to get the Fable III collection package but pressed the wrong button and got the regular game for the same price without the DLC. Is there anything I can do now?

Is something wrong with me? I'm actually enjoying RAGE..
I really enjoyed it on xbox, shotgun combat is lots of fun due to the enemy animations. Fighting multiple enemies with the boomerang thing plus the shotgun turns naturally into a style fest of the likes I hadn't seen since Halo 1.

I was wondering, does the pc version have the textures look good when looking at them up close? On the xbox the visuals look breathtaking from a distance, like they could be from a 720/ps4 launch game, but when you get up close everything looks PS2 quality.

I assume the PC version doesn't have the texture popup problem.

So stoked to go home and play my brains out of Metro 2033. Been waiting for that sucker since last summer sale (I think I missed the Wintersale chance).

Does anyone know if STALKER has been on sale yet? Like as in daily deal or w/e.

None of the STALKER games have been featured yet.

You may be able to get a refund if you contact support. Just explain there what you explain here. You will miss getting the collection though unless you buy it again. It might show up as daily.

ATI user here, is RAGE a safe buy now? I remember it had all sorts of technical problems at release.
It has been said that it has been fixed.

Felt like an id game that lacked any sort of identity. Drive point A to B, aim down sights, regenerate health. The game just has nothing about it that feels particularly special.

The textures aren't too hot on the PC version either, though you can enable detail textures which adds a grain filter on absolutely everything.

GOD! Work finally got in the way between me and Gaben. Just to have something to bash my head against the wall for, what flash deals did I miss today?

Im really just kinda fascinated at RAGE's reception. I obviously respect other opinions but some I cant even understand, feels like we played different games.

The game never asks you to pick up a gun. I didn't fire a single bullet my entire first run through the game.

It definitely asks you to disarm guards, and then puts another guard in a very convenient spot for you to shoot at with the gun you just made the first one drop. So maybe it doesn't directly ask you to do this (and I'm aware you can finish the game without shooting anyone), but it sure suggests it.
