Rage is actually a decent shooter. I think that the people who didn't like it went in with high expectations. It's not a life-changing experience, but it's worth it on sale.
Even at the modest rate of around .60 cents per card since it was around that price for most of the day, that's $900 in cards alone.

He might've crafted tons of other badges and got summer cards,

Yes, but GFWL's shutdown down has apparently been postponed, so it's back. EA may hate Steam but it doesn't hate money.
At that price you really should! Some day you will have a computer that will play it and you will be so glad to have it in your Steam library.

of course there is gameplay, Odin!, I'm tired of posting it, but here you go: it's basic TRPG (not an easy one, if you are afraid of that) and partly dating sim. There is a lot of gameplay, so much so that you might regret of wanting it!

I played through all of Agarest last Fall and I would not recommend it. The combat is terrible and has some of the worst difficulty spikes I have ever seen in a video game. The end game is torturous. If you want a waifu simulator, go find a VN or something.

You have a slim chance of getting a foil when you craft badges/vote three times.
That's not why he's doing it. He's doing it to have the highest Summer Sale badge.
