Eschalon Book 1 & 2 are now on sale at the Steam summer sale;

Eschalon: Book I - $3.74
Eschalon: Book II - $4.99

Got book I gifted by a friend yesterday and I was immediately hooked! Although the graphics are nothing special, the sound and music are amazing! Game really has a great atmosphere and the dialog is surprisingly well written!
Now I haven't got Book II yet but supposedly it improves on a lot of things.

Some screens;

And that GODLY main theme song;

Definitely worth a pickup IMO.
I'm probably going to purchase book II before the end of the sale as well.

Cargo is trolling me.

It launches, and then just sticks on a screen with crap music and rotating card-board cutouts. No key press does anything.

OH MY GOD I GOT THE HOARD TICKET ACHIEVEMENT

That was difficult, and entirely luck-based.

Some rude dude was the fourth member of the 4pack for HOARD in the morning and told me someone else got it for him after I paid for the pack. Nobody throughout the day seemed to want in. Who wants a free copy of HOARD?

Got this achievement earlier today. Was so damn satisfying. Actually had quite a bit of fun getting it.

That Garshasp game does look really good, particularly for such a small production.
I hadn't even realized it was less than 2 months old.

edit: got a lot less trouble with the hoard chievo than with the AaaaAA one, which reminded me why I hate dejobaan.

Daaamn, if I hadn´t ordered Dawn of War 2 Gold last week, didn´t already own CoH:OF, Metro 2033, RF:Guerrilla and Titan Quest, I totally would´ve bought the THQ pack.

And if I hadn´t ordered Bioshock 2, Hitman Blood Money and AvP in Zavvi´s 3 for 2 I could buy B2 today. Not AvP, though, since we Germans are deemed to girlish (or to easily goaded into violence?), so it´s okay.

Will buy Darksiders and gift my bro Bad Company 2 :) Too bad Resi 5 is 15€, who buys pc games for that much?!

I have a question about the Orange Box*: buying individually is cheaper than the Orange Box, any chance Valve will change that? And will L4D be the reduced violence version when I buy a phyical copyfrom the UK and register on German Steam?

*I have Half-Life 2 already, but it´s on a Steam account I don´t even know the name of, derp.

"Really good" might be really stretching it.

"It isn't the worst" is probably the most praise I can give it.

Anyone else getting insufferable download speeds from Steam right now? Trying to download AvP, Borderlands, and Darksiders and I can't get more than 300KB on each. I usually get 2.4 MB/s.

nothing special, but its alright.

i'd probably say 6.5/10.
Hadn't decided on whether I was going to pick this up but since I have all the other tickets from today I just jumped in on it. Time to wait for the download

Eschalon questions:

1. Party: Yes/No?
2. Round based/tactical battle: Yes/No?
3. Quest/Storytelling quality: Meh/okay/awesome/ohaitherebaldursgate2?

The Retribution ticket was surprisingly easy to get. The updated Bit-Trip-Beat one as well. All I want is TF2 and MNC gear so 6 tickets is all I need.

1. No - Solo'ing all the way

2. Round based (but it's more of an background system) see the let's play; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxXbojoen4E

3. Seeing I've only got the game yesterday can't really tell you the scope or awesomeness of the total game :) But from what I've seen the dialog and text (full text based game, no voice overs) it's really well done and atmospheric. Some of the dialog is like reading a fantasy book, really well done like I said.

Magick is great. Definitely get it. Fun game either solo or in co-op. Witty humour, fun magic combat system of combining items, and definitely has some challenge to it later on. :)

What? Where? It's 6,79 for me.
Germany here, 3,39 Euro (66% down from 9,99).

edit: obviously 66, not 33 -.-

I really want Steam to include The Whispered World on a daily deal. It's £14.99 which is too much as I've heard mixed reviews, but I love adventure games and the art and animation is absolutley gorgeous.

Knock it down by 50% and I'll bite.

ok, just browsing the catalog of Steam and saw Beyond Good & Evil. In case it got a better discount, should I bother with it or just get HD from PSN?

Play demo first to see how it runs. Since it's coded like shit. When it doesn't crash or desyncs, it's a fun little game. For me it was unplayable in multiplayer.

Ah, it's 66% down from 19,99 here. That explains it.

Still a good price though. Might bite later.

I will resist the urge to buy Terraria then as i bough the Heroes V pack yesterday for £3.70p today its £11.22p.

Why am I buying games that won't even run on my shitty integrated chipset? Time to buy a cheap video card on Amazon and prey that it will run anything that I buy in my frenzy on low settings.

plants vs zombies, it plays like the greatest game ever made. that's how.

you need sunflowers to make sun, then with the sun you buy plants. the different kind of plants stop zombies of many varieties invading your house and eating your brains. It's sort of like tower defense, but not exactly. It's excellent and for that price, don't hesitate. The achievements are all achievable and fun as well.

Magicka I just purchased as well. It's a bit diablo-ish I guess, I only played the demo, but it was really fun. Going to get stuck into it now.

hmm, what to do, what to do!

Magicka or Plants Vs. Zombies!

BOTH. But if I had to pick one, I'd go PvZ. My favourite game of the last year.

Didn't even know it came to steam. This game really needs to be included in a daily deal.

And about Magicka this article is what made me buy the game when it came out.
