Steam sales will be the death of me. Hope today has something I don't own. I bought puzzle Agent 2 and both eschalon games. Really impressed with the latter so far. And god damn magicka is fun as hell in co op

FUCK.

After probably like seven hours, STEAM HAS FINALLY FINISHED DOWNLOADING DARKSIDERS.

Which for some reason when I was searching for the game on Thursday, I thought it was Darkstalkers.

I miss Darkstalkers. :(

GET SOME GOOD RPGS UP IN THIS SALE, BITCH!

Thanks, Steam.

Anyways, I got every X game. X: Beyond the Frontier is super fun, and I imagine myself spending hundreds of hours on each one of them.

If you want to save cash for the rest of the Steam sale, buy Football Manager 2011.

You won't be playing any other games if you really get into that one. :)

I'm trying to play The Witcher but it keeps telling me "the game is currently unavailable" and won't load :\

I've had this happen with multiplayer games before when I assumed the servers were being hammered... but a single player game? Bah. I want to play!

I've used my debit card for years. Someone know of a reason why a debit card wouldn't work?

Yep. I've always used a Visa debit card. Never had a CC on there.

So looks like they removed the Spiral Knights ticket achievement instead of fixing it =/
Wasted 3K for a worthless bomb that can't even be upgraded. Even binded it to myself to see if that got me the cheevo.
Oh well.

ok, just browsing the catalog of Steam and saw Beyond Good & Evil. In case it got a better discount, should I bother with it or just get HD from PSN?

Do NOT get the PC version. The PSN version has native widescreen support. The PC version has to be horizontally stretched. Safe to say the PSN version will look much better and of course this kind of game plays better on a controller.

I just played the Magicka demo and I liked it. Should I buy the complete pack or the standalone game with no DLC?

I'd go with the standalone game. The DLC is extra maps for challenge/PVP or new customes. IMO the vietnam 'expansion' DLC isnt really worth it, the mission is brutal (especially in SP) and the introduction of guns breaks the game.

OK Gabe, I'm still waiting for The Last Remnant, but now a Tomb Raider pack would grab my attention also.

BRING IT ON!

I have the PC version and played it about two years ago. I had a few problems with the water looking weird sometimes, but I finished it. Now if you asked this same question before the PSN version was around, I would say yes the PC version is okay because of better framerate and higher resolution. But now that (isn't it out already?) the PSN version is out, I'd definitely consider it because hopefully they would release something less janky than the PC port after all these years.

And will L4D be the reduced violence version when I buy a phyical copyfrom the UK and register on German Steam?

no, it will be uncut.
gifted/imported games from regions where there are uncut remain uncut.
i'm also from germany and have lots of gifted uncut versions of games that are cut on the german steam store or not available at all (like Max Payne or Aliens vs Predator)

i think the only exceptions to that rule are Saint Row 2 and Modern Warfare 2...

Anyone else interested in a SSFIVAE four-pack?

A friend and I would like to buy, we just need two more people. Comes out to $30 a piece. Paypal, obv. Hoping a couple of others are interested. This thread moves so fast I'm not sure if I can get two, but I figure it doesn't hurt to ask. Can send me a PM if you're game, my Steam ID is also listed under my profile.

Okay, just need one more. Someone has to want SSFIVAE for $30.
Count me in.

oh well, guess I'll get it on PSN then. Its also $10 there anyway

I guess, my new target for a daily deal would be Psychonauts.

Downloads aren't bad here in London. Getting 900KB/s, usually 5MB/s but can't complain when everyone else is getting downloads speeds in the 100s.

Fuck it, gonna buy Crysis from Amazon.

Does Crysis use some crazy DRM?

Edit: Bah, Amazon's sale is until the 9th, I know I should wait to see if Steam steps up!

IIRC, it uses Securom and people were having trouble even starting the game last time it was on sale on Steam because the authentication servers were down.

Day 3, first purchases made. Magicka and both Bioshocks. I never finished Bioshock 2 as my Xbox red ringed before that could be done, and I'd love to make another pipe-ninja run through the first game.

I'm going to be trying very hard to limit myself to games $5 and under. I know Gabe is going to tempt me, but I've still got RPGs to finish from the last sale. Bring on day 4.

hmm, I'm thinking of buying Shattered Horizon since it's only 6.99 atm.

Anyone know if the community is still active? Are there still enough people playing?

Last I heard there was absolutely no one playing that game.

It has bots now. That's something.

It's one of those games where people only play on free weekend. It's a decent game, but the community is tiny.

I bought the Magicka Complete Pack after getting a text from my friend telling me to buy it. I was thinking about it anyway, having IRL friends to play it with sealed the deal.
