I got S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat Loyalty Promo for $3.74. I guess it's finally time to start playing the other two.

I feel stupid for not waiting on the daily deal for Deus Ex :( Oh well.

Want to buy Hazard Ultra & Stalker, but steam says that I can't buy the games because I need another game to buy those two. What....

Ultra requires the base game of Beat Hazard, and you might be trying to buy the Loyalty pack version of Stalker without having another Stalker game.

You're trying to buy one of the later Stalker games with the loyalty promo price without buying/owning SoC.

I was very close to just buying Call of Pripyat for the cheap price but I need one of the other ones. Nothing for me today definitely.

Don't be dumb. Buy Shadow of Chernobyl.

His screenshots are also downsampled from 1600p, I don't know if people actually believe that's how the games look or that's what he sees when playing.
Yep... "It's the way I see the game!" ... ;)

My thoughts exactly, I can't believe EA isn't screwing us over with this!

Its Derpy Civ, simple as that. Its boring, simplistic, and easily cracked. But it looks pretty and doesn't require the user to put much thought into winning at lower difficulty levels so its more "user friendly".

Like I said in this same thread days ago, I'd buy Civ IV complete at its full MSRP of $29.99 well before I'd recommend Civ V at the $11 sale it was on late last week. With Steam having Civ IV Complete down to $20.99 and Civ V at $24.99 its not even a real choice.

Bullshit post, Gaf.
Civ 5 is as addictive as civ can get. I play the civ series since the second one and it is always easy to win at the (durh) lower difficulty. That is how this game works: lower difficulty is a kind of sandbox where the AI is nicer and stuff is cheaper; then you learn the basics and start going your way up.
It is more user friendly because it is more user friendly, i.e., UI is cleaner, more information on the same screen, less systems that affect and are affected by more stuff, game don't hijack you and force to make decisions in the order it wants, etc.

It has its balance issues, it is being patched a lot; you may not like it, but don't pretend that is because your brain is so big it don't fit the puny game.

Alright, now I have to deal with this AI War difficulty curve as I told myself I would only buy it if it goes on sale. One of the two games out of the entire Steam library that I said I would buy straight away if it went on sale.

Damn you Steam.

I guess it's cool if you're an atheist

So if I buy Clear sky & Pripyat then its all good?

I'm pretty sure you have to buy SoC to get the lower price on either of the other two

edit: Orellio says I'm wrong, two posts down

Only thing I needed was Beat Hazard DLC for 1.24. Played it yesterday for the first time since the update and was blown away by how much better it was.

Glad I bought the Steam code for Civ V off of Gamersgate for 11 bucks the other day. I knew Steam wouldn't come close to that.

How good will Call of Pripyat run at 1080P using a Nvidia 8800 GTS G92/Q6600 @ 3GHZ and 4 gigs of ram? I want to run it with complete. I know I can't use the extreme option but will it run okay with the normal complete? I played part of SoC back in the day and enjoyed it, although the quests felt a bit repetitive. CoP always interested me, though.

The total price is $8.50 for both of them. If they're HALF as good as GAF says they are, that's worth it.

Well, this is a good start to the day. Valve refunded me for Two Worlds 2. It has a 3 activation limit with no revokes and it was not mentioned on the store page. I wouldn't have purchased it had I known that. I shouldn't have to search any other site to figure something that important out.

I still have another issue though, which has never happened before on Steam. I never received a confirmation email for my purchase of Frozen Synapse+Alpha Protocol yesterday.

Not great. That vid card is gonna hold you back a bit.

Still worth it though!

While there's definitely some things I really miss from Civ4 (trade routes, religion, diplomatic relations), it's not like Civ4 doesn't have its fair share of flaws as well: micro-management hell in large empires, somewhat crappy interface, and atrocious combat mechanics.

I like both, I play both. It'd be interesting to see a Civ6 with the best of both combined, I guess we'll have to wait a few more years for that though.

Alright made my purchases:

Need for Speed Pack
Monday Night Combat

Can finally use this G27 wheel.

I hope you bought the NFS package for the arcade racing. Because if you wanted a good sim racing game, it sucks and you should have spent your money on rFactor.

Played the demo of Eschalon Book 1... now I'm definitely going to buy it before the sale is out.

I made possibly the most random character I could in the demo, and I actually had a ton of fun with it. I think I'll just wait a little longer on the off chance it becomes a daily though.

got Clear Sky

if you're having doubts i say grab it, it generally doesnt go on sale with the other two.

But only if you have the other two! Just cause it's the cheapest doesn't mean it's the one you should get if you don't have the others.

Wanted Hot Pursuit, and wanted to try Shift 2 so I just got the entire pack. I'm not a big sim person. I like using my wheel but as far as in depth knowledge of cars or whatever I'm not a big person on that.

Anyone have any impressions of the AI War: Light of the Spire DLC? It is only $1.49, but if it isn't worthwhile I would rather not buy it.

Ok...Beat Hazard leave me blind

You get used to it. If you play it for a decent period of time, you won't even notice it actually. But if the visuals become a problem, you can always tone down the visual intensity.

I have an extra copy of Magicka and also the Magicka Vietnam DLC because someone flaked out on me (a relative lol). If someone wants to buy them both, I'll take PayPal for $4. PM me and we'll connect via Steam for the transaction.

Edit: SOLD
