It's not only incredible, but it's important, a landmark release, play it. This, SS2 and Half-Life were a holy trinity that in an alternate world skewed gaming into something so much richer than we ultimately have.

And it's cheap as fuck.
Where is the portal to that alternate world :(

Oh, man, that's a world I want to live in. At least some of the eastern European companies didn't seem to get the memo on what the directions were.

Thanks, that's what I wanted to know. I'll consider it if the sale is big enough. I don't really have time for it. I might wait until the Xmas sale to get the Sims 3 complete because the Pets expansion will be out and part of the bundle by then.

That is assuming EA isn't above using one of their premier franchises to lure people to Origin. I'm not saying they will withhold expansions but I do remember Outdoor Living had a two or three week delay before it was released on Steam.

Transformers is fucking amazing. Best transformers game I've ever played, probably one of the best third person shooters I've ever played as well. Story is better then the recent films and the voice acting is perfect.
I second this..the visuals are so crisp..playing with a xbox 360 makes the game perfect.

Bought Red Nation (mostly for the ticket). Turns out that it's a pretty fun game.
Yeah I picked it up on launch, but ignored it for a while till the continual patching gave me a real PC gamer boner and I kinda liked just rolling through the campaign. The leveling makes things pretty damn fun.

The summer ticket is above my skill level and I'm okay with that.

Really? Haven't tried it with a controller but I thought it worked perfect with M/KB.

Yea. It's got the exact same controls the 360 version has and feels just like playing it minus the achievements and dlc which I never bought on the 360 version anyway.

I wish I'd been here to reply quicker. Unfortunately IW isn't good, but at least it was cheap.

I've only played Deus Ex, not its sequel. But here's a crazy thought.

What if... you played the Invisible War BEFORE the first Deux Ex?

I did say it was crazy, but what say you, people who've played Invisible War?

This is what I settled on. Though I think I reversed the X (counter) and B (clock) so that they weren't inverted.
I may have actually done that I can't remember either, if I was walking to the right and pressed B whatever was to the right would be the new "ground" and vice-versa.
PsychoRaven said:
Or you can alt enter. That's easier. It remembers too then if you are in windowed or not.
But there's so many more important tweaks like the damn FOV.

My inside sources are telling me that todays sales are going to be :
CS source 5euro
Lara croft lightamguardian 5 euro
blur 5 euro
dead space 1 + 2 for 10 euro
crysis 1+2 for 10 euro.

:[

My sources... they don't exist.

It's not too bad if you set it to "strategic mode" and select the "barricade" mode with the "oil Platform" map. As long as you can keep the two center turrets going you should be able to survive a good while. It then kind of boils down to luck if you can find enough grenade boxes. It took me a couple tries.

Freibooter, in the steam forums, compiled a list of known summer achievements that haven't had a daily ticket yet:
Hydrophobia: Prophecy also has a new achievement, but it seems that the game hasn't been updated yet.

Is really And Yet It Moves that bad on Steam? I tried it on WiiWare and I loved it, also the devs were really nice (I tried it at a convention). I was going to buy it the last day of the sales...

Also, I couldn't stand the Beat Hazard demo. I was very interested in the game, as I loved Audiosurf when I tried it on a buddy's computer (and now is one of the daily deals I'm looking forward the most), but then I tried the demo and then proceeded to uninstall it after trying to finish two songs :lol (Also, I'm very worried now because I felt a little ill after playing it, I think the default visual feedback was way too intense...)

Oh, and you just couldn't exit the fucking demo. I swear, you were supposed to press backspace in order to exit, but instead it opened the game's store page so you could buy the game (as it did when you clicked, but that was what it should do). I had to press Ctl+Alt+Supr and terminate the process :/

So I bought a wired Xbox 360 controller in anticipation of buying several arcade-type games during the Steam sale. My problem is that every time I launch a game, the controller (drivers, I assume) is crashing my computer. I've un/reinstalled the official driver and also tried DS3. I've also tried all 7 of my USB ports. Am I missing something here?

It'd be kind of a Crysis 2 to Crysis transition. The sequel is streamlined in a number of areas, but like in Crysis 2, they seemingly missed the influence choice has on your character investment.

I know a lot of people detest IW, I don't, but it was seriously misguided. I think if someone was dead set on playing both, starting on IW isn't ideal, because it'll just sour your opinion of DE, if you play them the other way you can also change your mind and bail on IW.

Oh I didn't think to try barricade mode, I was just doing strategic mode on free play.

Is Poker Night a good game if you don't really care much about the characters or the humor?

Audiosurf, worth getting if I just got Beat Hazard?

I think I'll grab RUSH for a dollar. Two Tribes has my attention now after playing Toki Tori.

Excuse my ignorance if I am wrong but I don't think a xbox360 wired controller works.
You need the windows controller that looks and acts the same.

It's hard to visualize these things, but it sounds like you have it the same way as I do.

Except story was huge in Deus Ex and Deus Ex IW castrated your every decision with their blasphemy. That makes it 100 times worse than what Crysis did.

I wish. Well, Crysis Warhead actually. Top of my wishlist.

CS:S is very possible though. First day they had it up cheap by mistake, so it's probably coming this week.

Blur is incredible on PC. It looks phenomenal and has goddamn splitscreen. Sooooo much fun. Definitely worth 5 euro.

Oh god yes, Audiosurf is worth every penny. I would give Dylan Fitterer 50$ right now towards whatever the next game he makes. is. I have that much blind faith in him after Audiosurf.

They are both one and the same, there's just a different retail packaging so they can put one in the PC aisle.

I got it on barricade mode on the Bridge map. It has four other soldiers shooting as well. As long as you can survive, and play defensively, you should last long enough to get four grenade box drops. It's kinda luck based, the run I got it in I had 7 boxes drop in about 12 minutes. Remember you can "lock" your weapon when you find one you like, so you aren't picking up shitty weapon drops accidently.

You can exit the demo, the problem is that the button changes if you look at the bottom. They do the whole "Are you sure?" "Buy it Now" "Back" options whilst switching the buttons.

They are completely different experiences for completely different musical moods.

Do I need the AI War DLC if I haven't played the game yet? I feel bad asking that as it's only about £3 for it all, but there's no point if it doesn't add much of use.

I didn't realise that if you bought the PC version and if there is a mac version as well, you got it for free. Amazing. Just had a session of Torchlight on my Macbook. Nice.

They´re similiar enough for one of them to just go in the backlog for a long time.
They aren't like games you beat, they are games you start up and play for 10 minutes when the mood hits you. It makes no sense to put either one on a back log.

They've been putting games on sale the entire time as dailies. Bulletstorm is a possibility.

Oh yeah, Shift, forgot about that.

Here's hoping! I expect they'll do Dead Space one day and possibly Bulletstorm another.

Wrong. The windows controller is the 360 wired controller. I go back and forth between the 360 and pc all the time with it. The only difference is that if you bought it in the PC packaging. It even says Xbox 360 controller on the labels and in the drivers is referred to as the Xbox 360 controller.

This is essential because some games with Mac versions (I'm looking at you Sims 3) are not Steamplay and you will only receive the Windows versions.

Thanks. That's good to know.
