I can play it fine. Not unplayable for me!

I didn't even realize I owned AYiM (must've got it in an indie pack), and I know that those 24 minutes that it took to get me the achievement will be the last. It's just not very fun, and more often than not I rotated into the wrong direction. Also, if you gain any amount of speed, it's pretty much instant death, regardless if you land on a sloped surface or not.
So yea, no thanks. The game got deleted immediately after that achievement.
The Sims 3 is, predictably, the best entry in the series. It makes The Sims 2 and 1 feel like broken dollhouses. I cannot go back to them, and I adored The Sims 2. Seriously, pumped hundreds of hours into it. Now I will never play it again.Zzoram said:How are you finding The Sims 3 + DLC/Expansions?
thefil said:For me the main thing is that the game is kind of boring for the first while. But personally I think it gets very fun, and the discrete rotations (90 degree chunks) becomes very important in puzzles later on. I won't necessarily say you guys should give it a longer chance, but I don't think it's as uniformly awful as that. In fact, managing your speed is an important mechanic, speed being the main way you die, and not just a random annoyance.
When did I become the polarizing indie game defense force.
Zzoram said:Are the expansions all independent? By that I mean, can you only play 1 at a time, or if you have them all, will all the content be accessible without having to launch a different program?
They're expansions in the traditional sense: they expand upon the base game, not act as separate games themselves.Zzoram said:Are the expansions all independent? Zimbardo said:And Yet it Moves seems like a pretty cool little game. better than i was expecting.
using the xbox360 pad (keys mapped to it) and it works great. rotating the screen with the triggers is great.
got the Summer ticket/achievement from it anyway.
It's the zoom, you're often zoomed so far in that you can only see one possible option, maybe two.plc268 said:Not only that, it feels like there's a general lack of direction in the levels at times, even with the checkpoint pointing you in the right direction..
plc268 said:If I do that, I'll probably just use a controller instead of the keyboard.
Controller is definitely the way to go, I didn't use triggers like Zimbardo but mapped to left analog (for left+right) and buttons on 360. A for jump, X for clockwise, B for counterclockwise, Y for 180. Became much simpler for my feeble mind to understand. (A = my location.) Wound up moving pretty effortlessly through the third and fourth levels.1-D_FTW said:Before I delete local content and forever banish it to the void, I'll give that a try.
You don't need to do a separate transaction. I was able to buy all three games at the same time, and get the loyalty discount for CoP.plc268 said:You should've picked Shadow of Chernobyl, and then in a separate transaction, pick up Call of Pripyat for $3.75

I really like the controls on the 360 pad and really started digging the game. It does some really neat things with the concept.1-D_FTW said:Found a way to get the keys remapped, but it's not enough to keep me playing. The controls are way too digital. I don't know why he couldn't have replicated the analog motion controls by using the mouse to rotate the map.
Now I know why this game was completely off my radar. I must have played the demo when the game was initially released on PC and wiped it off my purchase list. Because I know there was a time I was excited about this game.
So very subtle! Perhaps someone can gift you the game and you repay them later tonight. I'd do it, but I live in Euroland and as such everything is 30% more expensive :/Awww man! Totally missed that Deux Ex was on sale. Ill be at work until 5 so Im going to miss out.
That makes me a very sad panda.
The general consensus is a very resounding yes.MNC said:Is the DLC recommended for Beat Hazard?

Zzoram said:I am wondering because I don't think you need all of them to play the latest one. So if you launch say, Sims 3 Generations, do you have access to Ambitions content assuming you have Ambitions installed? OR do you have to exit and launch Ambitions?
Zzoram said:Sims 3 franchise is already on 67% discount. Wouldn't 40% be a price increase?
3chopl0x said:Not sure if this has been posted here, but some dailies coming up:
Left 4 Dead Franchise
Sims 3 Franchise
FarCry Franchise
Kings Bounty Franchise
Gothic Franchise
Sye d'Burns said:Sims always launches the last expansion installed. In the game you have access to all prior expansions that you have installed. So yes, if you launch Generations, you will have access to Ambitions as well.
Hopefully this is on sale, would love to mess about with it for a bit.HBroward said:Freibooter, in the steam forums, compiled a list of known summer achievements that haven't had a daily ticket yet:

Absolutely. It improves the game in every way. Hell, another developer would have released it as a full price sequel.
Kalnos said:Series that inspired Heroes of Might and Magic and an excellent strategy game. Do recommend.
Universal Sandbox should be a daily deal, because it is still full price at $9.99 right now.Ataturk said:Hopefully this is on sale, would love to mess about with it for a bit.

Except for those damn bats who didn't want to cooperate.

It's not only incredible, but it's important, a landmark release, play it. This, SS2 and Half-Life were a holy trinity that in an alternate world skewed gaming into something so much richer than we ultimately have.Lkr said:about to leave and won't be back until the next daily deals are up. still haven't pushed the trigger on deus ex. gaf has 15 mins to convince me
