Downloaded Risen, go to launch it, TAGES installation pops up. I assume if I cancelled the installation, Risen would just refuse to run?

Edit: Installed them. Despite the bad things I've heard about TAGES, I've bought the game now so I guess I'll have to install the DRM.

Going through the effort of organizing 4 packs for Sanctum seems amusing to me. All that effort to save $1 (not to mention that Paypal fees make it even less worthwhile)

Correct. But you can download a crack and run it without activating via TAGES. But Steam won't track your hours. And you'd have to add the cracked .exe as a non-steam game to get the overlay.

It's not going to kill you.

I was able to get in on a 4 pack this morning. It coat me $2.87 after PayPal fees. Still, that's an $0.87 savings. :LOL!

GAF, so it looks like I've lost my job :( right now I have £1.26 in my bank account left for steam, so what should I get? (I already have chime) or should I just wait and see what's on offer?

How do I fix the errors in my purchasing here......I tried to add funds and steam said something about an internal error. Then I tried buying Audiosurf with my Steam wallet and it won't let me. How do I fix this?

80% off Command and Conquer games? Damn you Valve... Red Alert 3 + Expansion and C&C4 bought.

These games better have REALLY cheesy cutscenes. Looking at Red Alert 3, I expect nothing less. Also they should play well, too. I'm a little concerned about the no base thing in C&C4. For for €11 total for all the games, I'm giving it a try.

How wasn't it letting you? Why are you having to pay with Steam wallet?

So, question time. Let's say you just came into the Summer Sale but for some reason you have no money (maybe it's tied up in the Nigerian banking system because you're helping out some member of their royal family). Sucks to be you, right. But a mysterious benefactor from an alien race says that, on the last day of the sale, he'll give you a number of tickets for the summer camp prize booth such that, on top of all the free tickets you can earn, you'll have anywhere from 12 to 30 tickets.

By unremarkable coincidence, you don't own any of the games you can get DLC for in the prize booth. You believe that the Nigerian royalty will pay you back next month, or at the very least there's the winter sale, so you're eventually going to get all the games that you redeem tickets for.

Given these circumstances, what are your top ticket redemptions? Since you don't know if you'll get 4 redeems or 10, what's your Top 4 and what's your Top 10?

This doesn't mean "What are the best games?" because, naturally, you'll get a game if it's good even if you don't get DLC for it. The question, really, is "What are the best hippos, hats, and more?"

Anyone with the Quake Collection, if you get onto the Steam Forums for the game you will find a handful of "Ultimate Patches" that hugely improve the Quake 1/2 and Mission Pack experience. Puts back in the original music, more video modes, mouselook, etc. The Q1 patch has three seperate small downloads, the Q2 patch is all in one. Highly recommended. They install directly to the correct Steam folder with no hassle.

Ultimate Quake Patch

Ultimate Quake 2 Patch

D'oh. CS Source is $5 on Steam and I spent all my money yesterday getting GTA4.

Now I has incomplete Garrys Mod with purple textured people from CS. :(

How long do these summer sales typically go? I'm broke as hell right now...
This ends on the tenth, but the general consensus seems to be the tenth will be a 'best of' day, so the ninth will be the last day of new sales.

Yeah, I enjoy it quite a bit, too. I picked up during the TellTale sale last month and have put in about 6 hours. It's a competent enough poker game, and the banter is a lot of fun. I do think 6 hours is all I'll do, though, as the dialogue is starting to loop now.

That said, I did fire it up to get the achievement. It only took about 5 minutes -- on the second hand I was dealt a 6 and a 9, so I just went all in and got the others to fold.

I'm sad I didn't see the Telltale sale, as I'd really like to try this game, but even at the current price it seems high for a poker game considering I don't care about TF2 items at all. For $2 or less I'd be all over it though. It isn't the money itself, it's just knowing what else I could get instead.

Is anyone else getting really, really slow download speeds from steam?

I'm downloading Red Alert 3 at like 75 kbps, but a speed test is showing it going 1.7 mbps down. What's with that?

I'm really waiting for BattleField 2 and Vietnam to go on sale to get me prepped for BF3.

Vietnam already went on sale on the same day as Bad Company 2 if I'm not wrong. BF2 might end up on daily sales though, was 5 bucks during last winter sales.

Might be an idiotic question, but can I check who from my frinds list own a game without me buying it? I don't see it anywhere in the store section.
I'd say that all of them are good. I played through all three and enjoyed all of them. The latest one has the best graphics.

Tried the beat hazard demo.

Like audiosurf, the menu system is pretty horrific. The shooting colors are pretty though.

This is true. I love zoning out to my favorite music.

Red Alert 3 definitely brings the cheese with the cut scenes. They are terribly awesome.

Plus the Red Alert games are fun to play! I prefer the Red Alert series heavily to the main command and conquer saga.

Absolutely! I put in around 6 hour already in a game that I installed yesterday. Online multiplayer is sups fun. Specially if you share common songs, so INDEX that music!

Is it a pretty demanding game? How would it run on a new laptop (6750m, 2.2 ghz quad core).

I already have it on my main gaming PC, but I am wondering if it is worth the download for my Macbook Pro.
It's pretty demanding.

Guys. Guys! Wow. Couldn't put the controller down. I don't think I blinked for over an hour. I knew it was going to be good, but not THAT good.

That game hurts my eyes too much to play it for any more than one song. The idea was nice but... ugh. I didn't like it.

As much as I love this game I totally get this. It's definitely not for everyone.

I sent you a PM but basically I added funds this morning and I just tried again with a pre paid CC which I've tried and has worked 3 times, and it failed. Now I tried to buy Audiosurf and it's saying internal issues. Getting frustrated.

"There has been an internal error initializing your transaction. Please contact support for assistance."

I registered and confirmed for the support site and it won't let me past the email confirmation screen now
:/

What's up with all the source games updating? (CSS, TF2 and Portal 2)?
I already had the latest updates (got the CSS achievement earlier today).
