Is Amnesia like Penumbra: the Black Plague?
Made by the same guys; Penumbra was published by Paradox but for Amnesia they decided to self-publish.

I haven't played it because I'm a scared little boy, but it's supposedly much more refined and a better polished game than Penumbra.

I'll just say I love Mafia 2. I thought the voice acting was terrific, the story wasn't anything amazing, but it was very clear what was happening, I felt like I knew and cared about the characters and the gunplay was very good. The lightly destructible environments during firefights are cool (breaking glass, chipping walls) and the music is pretty awesome. I think it's a great game and a no brainer for $7.50.
Seconded. One of my favorites from last year.

Double dipping on Fallout 3 GOTY. It'll be nice to have all that DLC centralized and such.

BTW: Mafia II is awesome. VERY underrated. That is all.

Mafia 2 is pretty nice game. Also it has great soundtrack.

I already played through it, wouldnt mind another playthrough + DLC, but more leaning towards TLR since i never played it.

With Fallout3 GOTY and ME1/2 today, what's even LEFT to put on sale tomorrow?

Portal 2 most likely .. and uhh ..... wow what a sale. Everything that's worth buying has been at least 50% off this week. Crazy.

I've heard the PC version is far easier than the 360 version because you can use all "generals" or whatever, instead of using the regular padder units. Is this true? It'd actually make me more interested as I hate choosing between them.

Yeah, in the PC version you can use all generals instead of one general per group like the 360 version. You don't need to ever bother with filler units. The game is still fairly challenging though, you're not going to just blow everything away.

That's true. In the 360 version you're limited on the number of leaders you can have. On the PC, there is no limit.

The Last Remnant and Worms for me today. Brings my sale total up to $43 (ouch!), which is still less than a retail console game.

So I now have:

Audiosurf
Darksiders
Dragon Age Ultimate
Half-Life 2 + Ep1 & 2
Heroes Pack
The Last Remnant
Worms Reloaded

Let's see what tomorrow brings.

So far I got:
Frozen Synapse
Portal 2 (yes.. I broke the rule)

Thinking about:
Saints Row 2
Mass Effect 2
Alpha Protocol
You're just playing the rule like it's a toy, getting non-dailies, ignoring dailies and possibly buying them later, reckless.

The steam ticket for universe is making me want to get it.

"Heat Wave- Plunge the Earth into the Sun".

I don't think I would play this very much but that sounds too cool to miss.

That is one of the best cheevs yet. Smart. Gonna move some copies.

I know.. I know.

But I got Portal 2 before I read about the rule. I didn't really think about it.

Weird. Last Remnant is a daily sale on the EU store but it's not listed on the front page.
Yes, and it's £4.99, which works out at $8. If any Yanks want help saving a couple of bucks by getting it from the UK Store, PM me.

As for me, Fallout 3 GOTY = instabought, TLR = downloading demo to see if it'll run on my fairly low-end rig before dipping, and Universe Sandbox = don't know anything about it, but sufficiently intrigued to put it in my cart anyway, so waiting for opinions.

Done for the day. Mafia II+Joe DLC+The Last Remnant. ~$20.

Got ~$30 left in my Steam wallet.

STILL hoping for Crysis and Metro 2033 as dailies tomorrow.

Left to pick up in the sale: Those two, plus Bloodlines, and World of Goo. And maybe The Longest Journey twofer.

I can add more to the wallet if need be.

Not only was Portal 2 a non-daily, but it was also only discounted at a measly 33%. :( What barbarian scum.

Thinking about picking up Universe Sandbox. Any thoughts?
It's a really great program but loses its hypnotic appeal after the first hour or two. It honestly depends upon yourself whether you think a space simulation presentation will go far enough for you to spend $5 on.

Despite the fact that Crysis is still on Steam, I can't imagine Valve or EA would be very interested in putting it front and center given all the press. It doesn't even have a normal sale price right now.

Have the Mass Effect 2 DLC ever gone on sale for the PC? I don't feel like spending an extra $30 on Bioware points/bucks.

OP updated

gonna get Worms for sure

would like to get either Mafia II + DLC or The Last Remnant (more the latter), but im reaally short on money considering there's one day left and then the "buy everything you want on regular discount" day

:(

Just check your wishlist 10 minutes before the sale closes tomorrow. That'll give you an idea if anything better for you will be available. If not, buy Mafia 2.

Can you go into a bit more detail please?

Finally, got Amnesia and thinking about picking up Mass Effect. How cheaper did it get at the Holiday sale?
5$ prior. The cheapest it will go is 5$ till they drop the base price down to 10$(Which isn't happening anytime this gen).

I'm on the fence for Amnesia, someone convince me.
+ has it's price ever been lower than this?

It's one of the most terrifying games ever made. It looks great and controls wonderfully with mouse and keyboard. It's pretty much an all around great game.

It's definitely among of the best PC exclusives of the last few years and it will scare the shit out of you.

Well at least wait till Sunday to see if AP comes back for the 'best of'.
Yea, that's what I'm doing. I'm not that bad :p

Princess Skittles said:
Yeah, that one is likely to be a daily but it's worth its weight in gold even at the original asking price.
Just finished the SP today. It was well worth it!

edit: You hacker people need to find the other sales :P

What if they've fixed their issues, and not only will Crysis be a daily, but Warhead and 2 will?

Yes, that would be good, so it will happen.

im hungry for a scary game. I loved that part in Bloodlines when you go into the haunted hotel. Will Amnesia satisfy my needs?

That hotel is nothing compared to Amnesia.

i own Amnesia already and i have Last Remnant on 360 in the backlog, so nothing for me today. Some good stuff available though.

I loved what I played of Amnesia, but got stuck pretty early on. I'm at the part where you have to put together a chemical mixture to get rid of the red meaty stuff.
