Here's my take on Amnesia - Yes, it is scary. But it's not the type of scary you might used to.

Darkness is your enemy, and so you're managing your oil for your lamp constantly to keep from going crazy. For me, that fearful rationing of your oil is what makes the game so terrifying. It borders on stressful.

What if they've fixed their issues, and not only will Crysis be a daily, but Warhead and 2 will?

Yes, that would be good, so it will happen.

Shit, we may as well start up the Steam thread rain dance. Worked for Last Remnant!

So far I got:
Frozen Synapse
Portal 2 (yes.. I broke the rule)

Thinking about:
Saints Row 2
Mass Effect 2
Alpha Protocol
Why did you wait on Alpha Protocol until AFTER the previous lower daily deal??

Also, Saints Row 2?...NO. General consensus seems to be that it is horribly buggy and almost unplayable.

Bought Amnesia and with that I am done with the sale. GG and WP Steam
(at least I think I'm done... I think)

Witcher 2 $30
Oblivion $8
Darksiders $5
King's Bounty $7
Amnesia $5

Casualties: $55

Have not played any of them yet LIKE A BOSS!

Considering Mass Effects and Dragon Age 1 but I'd rather wait until I get through at least part of my RPG pile of shame. Namely Persona 3 and 4 and the Witchers. Also considering some super cheap, "might as well" stuff that some of you have been recommending like Longest Journey and SpaceChem and whatnot. Maybe.

im hungry for a scary game. I loved that part in Bloodlines when you go into the haunted hotel. Will Amnesia satisfy my needs?
Maybe, Amnesia is more about making you feel powerless and weak. Theres no rebar bent to save your ass, just your legs.

To anyone that has Amnesia, did your game ever stop saving? I never got to finish the game because it just wouldn't save anymore and I would really like to go back and finish it. I also can't play this game in one sitting because its just too fucking scary. lol

Whether or not Amnesia is worth $5 is hard to say. Yes, it's a great game. But you will be too scared to play it. It will test you as a man. I've never played a scarier game. Heart rate..increasing.....breathing...heavily.....pulse..getting faster....

Also, make sure to play with headphones and in the dark. Have fun :)

Wat. Cant spend $1.80 more for each game?

It's all part of the game...a dollar here, a dollar there. It adds up. We all have to establish some limits, (seemingly) rational or not...because we've all seen the results of the alternative during our first sale.

Wasn't there already a deal for Divinity II? It looks good and the metacritic score is right but $20 is probably more than I am willing to pay.

Okay so

I have three tickets now, but I don't know if there's anything else I want to get. I've already gotten:

Spacechem DLC
Beat Hazard gold ship
TF2 Summer Shades
Defense Grid map packs
Alien Breed 2: Assault

What else do you guys recommend?

I bought ME1 just to buy something so I could stop looking at the dailies until something popped out. I'm hopelessly addicted. Nice to have it on PC though, got Mass Effect 2 though unfortunately that isn't on Steam. Means I can nab ME3 on PC instead of 360 though!

I may break my router the next time a Steam sale starts. Jesus :(

Can you go into a bit more detail please?
Basically Universe Sandbox is exactly what the title suggests. It's a sandbox but in a universal scope; you've got different scenarios you can load up like booting up the solar system, or the (reality predicted) Milky Way galaxy merging into the Andromeda galaxy in the next few billion years. There are some really cool scenarios like being able to load up Jupiter and all its moons and watching all the orbit speeds and such, manipulating how fast everything goes in time etc. And then you have the joking stuff like creating a binary system and a few planets and moons and then seeing how the effects of gravity play out. Basically anything that is within the universe (black holes, asteroids, comets, etc) is available in the sandbox to create and manipulate. If you're a physics major you'd love something like this simply for experimentation sakes.

I bought it way back when it was still sold through a website and I still load it up now and then to fiddle around with it but it's not as robust or as excellent as some of the other "astronomy" programs like Celestia.

Its more that I'm holding out for a game or two, and if I spend the 12 dollars it would leave me with $14 in my steam wallet. I would have been ok with it if it had left me with above 15 dollars, but I must hold strong. Also I played and beat both mass effects on xbox so it wasn't like I was really wanted the games, 5 dollars was my sweet spot.

Anyone get this yet? Are we having to just add 10 new games to our list?

Nah, it's fine.

Fallout 3 is so tempting but I doubt I would ever play it. Too long. :(

Mass Effect Pack is also tempting so I can play these maxed on the PC...

Divinity as well...ugh.

Steam, I hate you.
